Pleasantly surprised, first time visit. We were seated and were greeted by our waiter Ryan. I ordered the Ceviche and it was delicious! Others ordered fajitas, quesadilla, and shrimp enchiladas. Two ladies at the table, ordered a strawberry and mango peach margarita and thought they were both very delicious. Ample parking, lots of space inside. Tons of staff. Good daily specials, too. The chips and salsa were ok. Our waitress must have been new because she did not know what mild was when I asked if the green salsa was mild. She also did not know what fideo soup was, which might be a west coast thing more than a Texas thing so that's ok, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt on that one. Our enchiladas were basic, the red sauce lacked any real flavor, and my sister in law opted for "cheese" sauce on hers which looked like two slices of melted cheese on top of her enchiladas-weird. The reviews for this restaurant are all over the place...I don't get discouraged easy...I went to see for myself. First thing noticed was that arriving for dinner on a Thursday evening at 5:30pm...the place was jammed and almost no parking spaces...wow, they were BUSY...!!! Upon entering I was greeted politely and taken to a nice booth, one of the waiters brought over chips and salsa...then the waitress arrived, took my order...and was off, only to return in a minute or two bringing my ice tea...!!! I ordered the #2 combination plate, includes 1 taco, 2 enchiladas, and refried beans. My meal arrived in 5 or so minutes, hot and plentiful. The taco was awesome, the enchiladas were "beef" and covered "smothered" with chili...oh my goodness...awesome. So in my opinion service was excellent, food excellent...and the price was most agreeable. I will most definitely return and I hope to see you here...!!! read more

Good tex mex food, friendly service dine in or take out. And the bar is always hoping. Love their stuffed avocados and fish tacos. Well, we were accosted by flies as we sat outside for 40 minutes on a hot Sunday (today). Sat down and it was cool inside and the chips and salsa were pretty good. There were 5 of us-3 got taco salads with shredded chicken. My niece's salad had a bug in it, some kind of black beetle crawled right out as she added the sour cream. This food was simply, just ok... nothing to write home about. The service was terrible, almost as bad as the food. The waitress dropped salsa all over me and my wife. she apologized and we undersgood that it was a mistake. She was actually a nice young lady, but the female manager was nasty and unconcerned about us as customer. The management offered no apology or discount. There was no consideration for our dry cleaning cost either. I have been to this restaurant twice over the years passing it in the way to family in East Texas and both times the food quality was adequate. I am writing a review this time because while I would register the food quality as adequate, the service received was both excellent and lackadaisical. We were greeted rather normally by the hostess and seated promptly. Our waitress checked very quickly if we were ready to order. I had barely opened the menu. She came back about 10 minutes later to get our order. Our waitress (Sylvia) then disappeared to some place in the restaurant. She seemed to come out when she had a new customer or to deliver food but otherwise was absent most of the meal. No refill of drinks or to check on our food after delivery. Luckily there was another waiter, Ricky, that was not only near us but willing to assist us when our waitress was notably absent. From retrieving some water and napkins and to-go boxes but even checked on us in between. I did mention the uneven service to the person up front when paying our check. I would also say that of the $6 tip that I left, I gave $5 of it to Ricky and $1 to Sylvia. Never cheat waitstaff out of a tip when you are served properly but you can use your tip to show your pleasure or displeasure in their lack of service. read more

Ate there for the first time on a Friday night. Service was excellent in spite of a packed house. Chicken Chipolte was to die for. We eat Tex Mex quite often and this was probably the best tasting dish I've ever eaten. It was National Margarita Day so these were the drink special. I owned a bar so I consider myself knowledgeable, and my margarita was excellent. I consider this restaurant one of the best in the area. Picked up my to go order of what I thought was: iced tea, chicken fried steak and french fries- had ordered extra gravy for $14.60- gave a $3.00 tip on top for a total of $17.60 for a to go meal. Got home-and had received: iced tea, chicken fried steak and french fries- along with chips and salsa- no gravy. Called to report that it was not what was ordered- was told they could comp me some queso on my next visit. I said " Really?"- the person on the phone said well you kept the chicken fried steak- I offered to bring it back- since - Who eats chicken fried steak without gravy.-- Told her never mind. While my husband and I both enjoy the TexMex menu we are both disappointed that they have stopped serving some of our other favorites. No more steaks (chicken fried steak!!!!?) No more baked potatoes and some of their other regular menu items. Will not be going back any time soon. read more

The food here is ok, the service is pretty consistantly good. Pros: The guacamole is good and fresh, the warm chips are served quickly after being seated and the salsa is plentiful. My husband doesn't stray from the "Chef Special" it is a combination of 3 bean & cheese soft corn tacos topped with grilled chicken or steak with a side of guac, kind of liked layered enchiladas. The tortilla soup is fresh house-made and varies in flavor on each visit, but it has fresh avocado on top. The managment team seems to run the restaurant well and there is always someone bussing tables or vacumming. They have different daily drink or menu specials. Cons: A lot of the food here kind of has a "canned" taste to it, like plastic cheese. The margaritas are premade and hit or miss, I recommend sticking with beer or tea. read more

This is an update to my old review... This new location has provided much better experiences for myself, friends, and family. They've forgotten the corn tortillas a few times when we've gone to get Fajitas to go, but that's really the only complaint.
