Arizona guy here, born and raised in El Paso TX. I work in Homestead and commute to Arizona. I think I know Mexican food. I tried Jalisco today. I had Tacos. The carnitas was the best I have ever had! Full stop. the Pastor was very good. The Lengua was ok.... Terrific salsa bar... over all, EXCELLENT spot. Well done Jalisco! Top notch authentic Mexican food. It's the real deal. I saw some negative reviews and all I can say is you might do better at Taco Bell or some other chain. Went to Jaliscos for a family members birthday celebration on a Saturday night, arrive around 7 and the place was a little empty, the crowd starts arriving a little bit later as there is live entertainment Saturday nights. There is Karaoke although it's mainly the hosts singing, there were 2 one that mainly sings and the other sings and tell jokes which I really enjoyed. The food is standard Mexican food, I ordered the Steak Tacos which came with rice and refried beans. Our table ordered the Nachos but we were not fans, so if Nachos are your thing it's best to skip them here. Drinks were fairly priced. Overall a nice little spot to enjoy some Mexican food and live entertainment if you are in the Homestead area and need to find a spot for the night. read more

We're not able to be seated as I took my service dog. I showed them all her paperwork but they did not care. Would not recommend anyone going there as they don't follow the law. I am going to report to HUD on Monday . Also not very clean and very loud music. read more

Disgusting place!!! I went there today and ordered flautas it took a long time to come out and when it finally did, it came out cold. I returned the plate to the server and asked her to make me a new plate because this one was cold. I'm pretty sure the chef got pissed that I returned the plate because when the waiter brought it out there was hair on it now. Literally on the top of my salad was several hair strands. The first time I went to Jalisco I had some pretty amazing pork tacos but since then the place has just completely deteriorated. The need to start be giving it a good wash and paint job, it just looks dirty. I can't eat at a place where I can imagine creepy crawlers all over the kitchen. My co-worker and I went to this restaurant on a Friday during our lunch time. For some reason I thought it was going to be a good idea to order oysters from this place. Fast forward 3 days I ended up in the hospital with a kidney infection caused by E.Coli I know that it was from these oysters. I tried one and knew it wasn't fresh. I told my server that I no longer wanted it and she took them back to the kitchen and still charged me for it. I want to make it really clear please guys just do not try them. read more

The food continues to be very good at this restaurant even though I do miss they're great salsa bar with cilantro hot sauces etc. The service I would say was average. Their prices have increased since my last visit and I guess that's everywhere. The bathrooms were dirty in disrepair with the presence of bugs not the ones that you want to see in your food. Went here originally because a couple other places couldn't take me and a couple friends. It was on Saturday night so they had karaoke going on so it was super loud and super packed. The guy at the door was super cool, got us a table quickly, and initially made sure we were taken care of. It did take a long time for us to get a server though and when we did get one, she was very inattentive and never came back for refills or anything. But the food was really good and the other patrons were cool. I'd recommend going highly but not in karaoke night. read more

After seeing the food pictures and reading the reviews I just had to check this place out. The restaurant is clean and they have a lot of seating. When we arrived there were two other couples there (so not busy). The waitress greeted up and brought out the usual chips and salsa and they were good. I ordered the beef fajitas to split with the little one. The fajitas came out hot and sizzling with peppers and onions and a grilled jalapeño. The accessory plate came with pico, corn tortillas, sour cream, guac, rice, and beans. The meat was super tender and tasted alright I like a little more flavor though. The rice and beans were just like home and tasted good. I personally did not like the corn tortillas and actually asked for flour with my order but never got any. The food was not bad considering the prices, but will try another place before going back for a second time. Good service and nice little spot (although we ordered takeout/pickup). We ordered the chimichangas (which were on point, coming from my Cali-native husband), five tacos (1 lengua, 3 carnitas, 2 carne asada; which weren't as great as we thought they would be; the lengua wasn't cut in small cubes like they do in CA, so it was super dry and not flavorful at all), the shrimp and sirloin platter (sirloin was very tough l, shrimp was good), a sope (instead of sour cream, they use cottage cheese???) and a horchata (best horchata we've ever had in FL). We trusted the reviews on Yelp and also locals claiming Homestead has the best Mexican food in all of FL, but nothing beats the authentic Mexican food found all over California. This restaurant is a a hole in the wall that has been there for ages. It looks very modest from the outside but don't be fooled! The food here was soooo delicious and fresh from the tacos and fajitas to the gimormous chicken burrito everything was excellent. The only thing I might nit pick is that I wish the tacos were a bit bigger but they sure were scrumptious. If you are looking for authentic fresh mexican food I highly recommend you try Jaliscos out you will not be disappointed. Like I said it is a small establishment and it was pretty packed on Sunday but service was good, the girls waitressing and the young man working the floor are very pleasant. Decided to swing in her and try some local Mexican flair. We were seated quickly. Booths are spacious and tables clean. Salsa and chips served right away. Salsa is VERY strong with Cilantro. If you're a fan of this spice you're sure to love this Salsa. We did have a long wait for our food though. Wait was 40 minutes from time order was placed till food arrived on table. There were 3 waitress and 2 other couples in the restaurant so we assumed the wait would've have been long. Food was good. Traditional Mexican I'm learning has to grow on me. Lol the food was very good though. Being Mexican (born and raised there) I'm very picky with the "Mexican" restaurants and their so called authentic food. This place has really good street tacos, and the Jamaica water was fantastic, my torta de pastor was ok, I was expecting something more Mexican, but it was still good. They need to take care more of the bathrooms and the neatness of the place in general, there is nothing most horrible than a nasty bathroom (this goes to the customers as well, because the mess is caused by the patrons). read more

Tacos Tacos Tacos! Should I say more? They have great food portions at great prices, you won't be disappointed. It's authentic Mexican food, none of that texmex stuff. I personally love their steak tacos are my favorite. Just a perfect blend of good meat and house made sauces. If you want something aside from tacos you can always try other house delicacies like chicken mole with their traditional mole sauce is my second choice. My only not so good critique was the services, I'm not sure if it was the time or day we went but it was ok. The server was a bit forgetful and left items we order out and we needed to remind her. Other than that, she did try to help us, and overall was a pleasant meal and time. It's worth the drive to Homestead if you live upper Miami area. I've been here twice and had good service, that all changed tonight we walked in it wasn't busy the waitress told us to sit ourselves. After 15 minutes of no service of any kind I kept trying to make eye contact with the waitress to see if we could get served. Another guy from a different table finally went to her and said something to her. She grabbed some menus and took them to his table and alas she walked toward us with menus she paused and went to the table behind us where a guy just sat down at and handed him menus. Walked right by us again on her way back to where she was standing in the back. So we got up and left the restaurant. I doubt I'll be back again after this, was close to my house and decent every time I have tried it. Left there Went to one of our favorite spots and got seated and served right away. This tiny strip mall restaurant is not only friendly and inviting, but excels at exceeding my expectations on flavor, presentation, authenticity and style. The restaurant's no frills appearance right down to the little food window cut out of a wall lends it to feel suburban Mexico. The staff greets you with smiles in Spanish first, then English as it shpuld be there. I generally eat seafood ceviche', guac and enchiladas.
