I have a soft spot for Freedom Street. Though I miss some of the old stalls that were in here, I can't believe how good Jama Miami Cuban is! As a Florida native, I don't order too much Latin food out here. It's not necessarily something I crave anymore. Admittedly, it's tougher to find legit Latin flavors. Well, I was thoroughly impressed with what I tried here! Roasted Pork "Lechon" ($18) // slow roasted berkshire pork shoulder, garlic mojo, pickled onion. This was the most filling bowl of food I've consumed in recent memory. The lechon was tender and flavorful, two ginormous pieces of unctuous, pull apart meat. The tostones were crispy and delicious. Pickled onions balanced the dish, though I was curious with the choice of using rings as opposed to smaller, julienne slices. Rice was yummy, beans just needed some seasoning. Hearty and comforting food right here! It was all so good that I had to stop by the stall later and tell the chef how much I enjoyed it. Actually stopped in for Jeremiah's Ice at the Freedom Street Food Hall. As we were leaving, we had the fortune to taste a sample of JAMA's desserts... then... started talking to the very nice man behind the counter and found out they make their own bread for their sandwiches. That alone convinced us we had to try the Cubano in their bread. It was amazing. Flavors were perfect and the bread put it over the top. I ordered takeout yesterday for my husband and I so this review is for takeout only. The cuban sandwich was hot but not crispy at all, which I will chalk up to it being takeout. However, there wasn't enough mustard or pickles in the sandwich itself & was a little bland. I was a bit disappointed considering all the great reviews. We will have to try again next time in person to see how it is. I do wish there was an option to add on some house made hot sauce on the side when ordering. Yuca fries again were not crispy, which again, it could just be because it was takeout. The aioli sauce was delicious and so were the plantains. We really enjoyed the guava flan which wasn't too sweet either. Overall, we will give this place another go next time! read more

Second day living in Colorado and as Miami natives, my lover and I are SO happy to have found this brand new gem. The classic menu has all the essentials anyone from Miami can appreciate, even a jupiña and materva! One of the business owners saw us placing an online order outside and came over to introduce themself. Told us they just opened up on the 1st of March. The other owner came out to meet us too, super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The area surrounding the business is fenced in and I can imagine this place blowing up very soon. I don't know who leaves all those high reviews for this sham of a fake Cuban restaurant. The only thing on their entire menu that came even close to Cuban food, especially from Miami was the fried yuca. The non toasted, non cuban bread on their skimpy cuban sandwich was a catastrophe. It upsets me highly as a Cuban from Miami who reveres my incredibly delicious Cuban food, when restaurants claim to be authentic Cuban food but they are nothing but. It brings a bad name to Cuban cuisine around the world. Someone who has never had real Cuban food goes into one of those imposter restaurants snd gets turned off of Cuban food because of their garbage. Update! 6/4/2026. It's so funny. The owner or the manager, whoever, got butt hurt about my opinion of the fake cuban food those imposters serve. He talked a bunch of unprofessional crap instead of listening to customers and stepping up their piss poor game. I went in there with 10 CUBAN family members. They came to Denver for a family reunion. I have Cuban family from Miami, Tampa, and New Jersey. After taking them to this Jama place, well, they haven't spoken to me since. I tried both the Frita Cubana and The Original Cuban Sandwich, and each bite was packed with bold, authentic Cuban flavors. My girl and I just moved here from San Diego, but we're both born and raised in Miami. So when we saw this hidden gem on Yelp we knew we had to try it out. We didn't realize we had to make an online order when I got there, but it didn't take long at all to get our food. The owner had seen us and came out to welcome us and tell us how they had just opened earlier that same month. Both owners gave us a very warm welcome, much appreciated. There are picnic tables in front of the shop and it was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to eat there. Last week we ordered this for lunch and it was delicious. Not only that but, the guy that took my order was so nice. I ordered the pork sandwich and unfortunately the pork wasn't ready yet. Not a big deal, we were eyeing the Cubano too, so we got that with the rice and beans. The restaurant felt bad about not having my first choice so they comp'd my meal and threw in a dessert. Omg, the sandwich was huge and delicious! The dessert I had trouble sharing it with my husband because it was so tasty I wanted it all to myself. We will definitely order from here again. read more
