The truck now lives in Allston M-F 11:30-6pm in the parking lot of the empty restaurant across the street from Trader Joe's. It will move into the brick and mortar restaurant in the fall. Excited about their permanent vegan options including jerk tofu and vegetable curry stew. Most of the sides are veg/vegan too. Everything is super flavorful and yummy. I loved the vegetable curry. My only area for improvement would be for them to grill or fry the tofu instead of just heating it up. It still had really good flavor though and could tell they cared about making it tasty. It also has a nice pineapple topping.

I've been hitting this truck for quite some time now. It's delicious and consistently delicious! I've had the jerk chicken plate and the goat curry plate - both excellent. My sides are a staple of bean n rice and sweet plantains and I generally pay extra for "extra meat" it's 2 or 3 more dollars. The review, happily so, is going to be uneventful because there is nothing but good things to say about this truck. The food is tasty: great seasonings and not spicy that the avg person can't eat it. The extra sauces they let you "heat up" your food with there are awesome! The meat is tender and fresh. The Goat has bones, FYI - it's beyond tender!! Perfectly cooked! The frosting on the cake is that the people are always very nice too! (dont forget to tip your food truck staff folks!) The only *real* con, would be the line!? and I honestly can't state it's a down side.. the wait is worth it, however that cuts into your lunch hour! I plan ahead, order the extra meat and, personally, get 2 meals out of it! WIN WIN! You can't go wrong here. all of it. all the time. just yum! CHEERS!

I've heard about this truck from a friend last year.....and I finally got to try it! On a dreary day, when the rain finally stopped, I stepped outside and made my way to Dewey Square/South Station and lo and behold...one of the only two with somewhat of a line (it was 1pm so there was 3 people in front of me, then some came after but the line moves quick as they are just scooping your food into a box). So you know you're in for a treat somewhat if there's some sort of line! The employees are very nice and talkative when I was trying to choose a sauce since the hot sauce wasn't labeled but thank god she was there... she was updating the menu since plantains just sold out! I got the jerk chicken with white rice and curry vegetable stew $10 and they take credit card. I'm not sure how anyone can add more meat, but I guess if you have a big appetite..but I mean I was famished and still had 2 pieces of chicken left when I was done! I would definitely add more of the sauce that's already on your chicken and a few drops of hot sauce.. make sure a drop gets into the curry! If you eat the chicken with the veggie with rice all in one bite it'll taste better than just the veggies themselves but that may just be me as I hate veggies but only eat them cause they are healthy... I will definitely return when I'm craving something different...! The chicken was fantastic and I'm very happy there wasn't any bone since it looked like there may be some..but nope! Just good ole chicken!

What is supposed to be oxtails

I was skeptical at first Before checking this place out- an ethnic Jamaican restaurant in corporate-heavy Kendall Square Cambridge? But I wanted to be proven wrong. Unfortunately the food was worse than I thought it could be. I ordered the oxtails...big mistake. There was no meat - they were tiny and on them was just tendons. Rice was mediocre (flavorless) and they served carribbean kale (???) that was too dry. Im not on yelp at all! but this was a dissappointment.

This is one of the best food trucks around the city. The jerk chicken is unbelievably juicy, with a great balance of savory and sweet from the salsa on top. It'll be some of the best chicken you've had. Plantains are soft and sweet, but the portion is on the small side. Rice and beans are great... but I'd add more seasonings to it. They don't stand up on their own, but that might just be comparing it to the chicken, which is a flavor explosion. The line will get long during the peak lunch rush, so try to get there before everyone else does. The staff is always happy and polite, even when the line is wrapping around other food trucks' lines. For $10, it's an average-to-good amount of food for the area for lunch.

Beef stew served instead of curry goat.

I was hesitant to try this place but I did against my instinct. I ordered rice with curry goat and my friend got the same. They didn't give her rice and wanted to charge her an additional $6 for basically 2 tablespoons of rice. When I got home (to my disappointment) they gave me rice with a beef stew including potatoes and carrots instead of curry goat. They do not give receipts so I do not know how much I was charged (waiting for the transaction to post to my card statement. Finally, the meals are pricey and the portions are small. Oh yeah, the rice is tasteless so they embellish it with the spicy gravy. Won't be visiting there again

Loveeee this place. Hands down the BEST jerk chicken I've ever had. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. It's a must.

Curry goat with macaroni, rice and beans, and plaintains. $14 ($2 extra for the third side)

I had the pleasure of trying the Irish griller and the nachos, because, honestly, how can I resist nachos. Now, when I'd had corned beef before, it had only been from a can... so my expectations were not set particularly high. However, there's really no comparison between canned rubbish and this! Sandwich was nicely balanced and toasted (maybe grilled?) to perfection. There was a variety of textures and flavors to be found inside. There was a bit of cheesiness, but the stars on the plate were the slaw and the beef. The slaw was fresh with just the right amount of crunch, whereas the beef was tender and in just the right amount. I would have liked a little more sauce though, as I don't recall there being a whole lot of it. On the side perhaps? Also, and this is just me... but a little more cheese never hurts. Then there were the nachos... these fell short for me. As opposed to the thought put into the sandwich, these were like something a college student would throw together. Good nachos, in my opinion, are warm; whereas these were just chips for a bag with stuff thrown on top. The sauerkraut was quite nice, it that it wasn't overly sour. However, because this dish didn't move a thermometer, the beef and chips, and even cheese went together like oil and water. On top of that, the Thousand Island sauce didn't really work for me here. It might be great on sandwiches and salads, but not nachos.

Yelp pointed me to this small (nothing fancy) Mexican spot, and on a rainy Sunday evening it felt like exactly the right choice. The "tucked -in" restaurant was quiet and welcoming. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas, and they absolutely hit the spot. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and well-balanced, making for a hearty and satisfying meal. My only criticism--and it's a significant one for me--is the use of aluminum serving containers. I realize some restaurants still use them, but I personally don't think food should be served in direct contact with aluminum in 2026 when so many other options are available. It was a noticeable disappointment and detracted a bit from an otherwise yummy experience.

I remember when I first heard about this event. My initial thought was "oh look another way NYC and…read moreBoston can compete". Actually, I thought it was just another event New York City could dominate Boston at. But that's just the New Yorker in me. I kid, I kid. I've got nothing but love for Boston's food trucks. I was mostly interested in what trucks New York was going to come with as lets be honest the only food trucks I ever saw in NYC were the halal and hotdog trucks on the streets. And let's just say I was taught never to trust street meat. Good thing the website is good at listing the trucks and their websites so you can scope out the competition beforehand. Surprised to see almost all of them had websites. The first time this event was held in Dewey Square. Contained completely on the farmer's market island. My god it was a mess of lines and the wait for some of the trucks was horrendous. People had to plan strategically in their groups in order to hit as many of the trucks they wanted to try. Food truck competitions are serious business and apparently you call out a competition between NY and Boston you're going to pull a crowd to show some love for their hometown. It's understandable... even if the longest lines were from two NY trucks. The second time around the planners did a lot better location wise. They spread the trucks out along the less trafficked Greenway. Thank god they learned from last year. Also line control was handled a lot better. No funky zigzag across 4 different truck areas here. And there was also plenty of grass or curb to sit and eat. Now for the food. This competition has a habit of bringing an array of different cuisines. I had a plan to visit two trucks this time. Morrocan truck Comme Ci Comme Ca and Indian Chinese hybrid Momos & Buns. Most of the NY trucks had a limited 'Throwdown' menu. While I did pick up the kofka couscous from Comme Ci I would have really liked to try a few of their appetizers that I noticed on their website. The couscous was delicious and I think this was the first time I ever really tried Moroccan cuisine so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I'll definitely hunt down the truck when next I'm in NY. Momos I never got to. There was quite the line and I was not that patient. But while I was walking the area I stumbled upon the Cupcake Crew and tried their maple bacon cupcake. Wow, that was incredible. Although I think bacon makes most things taste better. In all it was a pleasant day with delicious food a relaxed atmosphere and I can't wait until next year's.

We spotted it at a local stop and decided to grab a quick seafood meal without committing to a full sit down restaurant. The menu is centered around lobster in just about every form imaginable, from rolls and bisque to tacos and grilled cheese, making it a convenient option when the truck happens to be nearby. We ordered the lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster roll was good overall, though it came out a little smaller than expected given the price. The lobster itself leaned more toward claw meat rather than the larger tail pieces some people associate with a traditional New England lobster roll. The flavor was still solid, with fresh tasting lobster throughout, but the roll came with less butter than we anticipated, resulting in a lighter and less rich presentation than we were hoping for. The clam chowder ended up being the stronger of the two items. It was creamy without being overly heavy, with a good balance of clams and potatoes, and worked especially well alongside the lobster roll. Together they made for a satisfying meal that delivered the classic seafood combination most people are looking for from a lobster focused stop. The experience here is ultimately about convenience and consistency. When the truck is nearby, it offers an easy way to grab a lobster roll and chowder without making a trip to the coast. The prices reflect the reality of lobster, but for a quick seafood fix on the go, it gets the job done.
