This place had the best Jamaican food in the DFW!! The jerk chicken is tender, spicy, and perfect mix of sauce/gravy. Peas and rice were perfect not overly moist or dry. The cabbage still had a crunch. The meat pies...let's just say I ordered 3 to go. The pastry is flaky and not too thick and is filled with delicious seasoned meat. My husband stopped in today and picked up the redfish along with some other plates. The redfish is absolutely delicious!!! Cooked to order and very hot and delicious!! Had to say that again. The food is really good! We ordered curry chicken and curry goat. The curry goat has a little kick which is nice. I have to agree with previous post the portions are VERY small. I've eaten at several Jamaican restaurants in the DFW and their portions are twice the size. Great food but the portions are horrible! The container measures 3 in.x 8 in. for a protein and two sides! 3.5 stars. I wanted this place to be amazing as I'm a regular of Angie's in Fort Worth. This one is closer to my home. I had the jerk chicken with rick and plantains and it was "just ok". The plantains weren't cooked/browned enough to give the sweetest taste. I am happy this restaurant is now in the area because it gives Burleson some food diversity. The decor is really cool. I do recommend giving this place a try so you can experience something outside of your everyday norm. read more

This is such a fun and delicious little gem tucked away in downtown Burleson. While the music and art pleases the eye the food trumps the aesthetics. We tried the jerk pork and goat curry. Both were heavenly, mon. You do need to be brave, the menu does not cater to Burleson tastebuds but sticks true to its roots, spicy and flavorful. If you don't like spice make sure to let them know or stick with the beef patties and coconut bread. But do take some time to taste a bit of the Caribbean in your backyard. Well worth the visit. Wow. We checked Yelp for Jamaican. I thought we would have to look toward Arlington. Then this gem popped up in Burleson. The Jerk Chicken was amazing. This is a friendly and fun place that transforms you from a small town Texas street to a Jamaican island cafe with a walk through the front door. This was my first time dining here and I'm a huge fan of Jamaican cuisine! Walking into the facility was amazing! Being a pescetarian I was pleased to see they had Red Snapper on the menu. The menu showed the price being I believe 14.99 however I was advised that because of the size of the fish it would be 4.00 more. We picked this restaurant to eat at with friends that drove almost 2 hours from out of town and they were closed at 6:30pm everything that I have read says they close at 8pm. There are not many options of Jamaican food in the area so I decided to try this place a few years ago. It wasn't too bad. So when visiting this are again a few days ago I decided to try it out again. I should of known from the moment the girl answered the phone. She sounded like she did not want to be at work and was very short, monotone, and rude. Worse customer service I've had in awhile. I thought about cancelling my order but I was really craving some oxtails! So I get there to pick up my food. The girl just stared behind her mask with a nonchalant expression. She looked miserable, I felt bad for her but this is your job so suck it up. Maybe her parents who own the place made her work and she wasn't feeling it. So on top of that I was hoping the food would at least be good. The moment I opened the container. I knew the oxtails didn't look right and would taste nasty. The gravy was thick, chalky and taste like mole. Rice was bland and dry. I've had many oxtail plates in my lifetime and this was the worse I've ever had. They were missing that strong Jamaican flavor and I was a little displeased by the size of the oxtails and the portion size. I was originally on my way to Angie's Jamaican restaurant and when we got there it was permanently closed.. so we did a quick google search and it brought us here. We ordered to go - 2 large curry chicken and a large curry goat. The outside is really cute and unexpected. We almost drove by it twice thinking that it was something else. When we got in they had out food ready; we paid and left. My brother was satisfied with his curry chicken (the other was for his girlfriend so I didn't taste it) he had no complaints. My curry goat was extremely small to be a large. $15.99 the plate. The goat was extremely spicy and dry... I like spice and can take the heat but I also want flavor not just burning my mouth off.. I've read the other comments and it might seem like I just went on an off day. Or maybe I just chose the wrong dish. Either way my brother and his girlfriend liked their food. Me, on the other hand, was disappointed because I am a big fan of Jamaican food. I will give this place another chance when I get around to it...
