I went into Bruegger's this afternoon. I approached the counter and the young man (who I believe is the supervisor) was too busy texting to take my order. When his colleague working the juice bar got his attention, he snapped at her, "This is important". He then brusquely took my order. I have been to other Bruegger's that are run well. This particular Bruegger's seems to be chronically plagued with bad service. I will not return. read more

Crazy long wait for just a smoothie at lunch time. Normally I don't complain about that, but they're not even busy. People taking the orders are pretty rude and don't know the menu, which is kind of sad. I normally love jamba, but not this location. read more

I agree with most of the reviews. The food is great but always a new staff every time I go in. Though different people, they all have in common either messing up or completely forgetting about my order. This not the first time I've had to go up a second time and remind them about my order after waiting 10 minutes. Also, would be nice if tables were wiped down and floors sweeper every so often. Gave it three tries; no charm. I won't be back...even though I love the taste of boiled bagels! Why? The first visit was sloooow, but okay. The second visit was with an overly cheerful manager automatically toasting my already-warm bagel :(didn't ask for it toasted...I'm a bagel snob). Ruined it for me but I not enough to return it...although I let him know so they'd know why I was dissatisfied. Third visit found an employee walk out of the ladies room w/o washing her hands (dry sink) and the person who was just sweeping the floor, wearing a super-grungy hat, put the broom and dustpan aside, handle my coffee cup and pass along my prepped bagel. The Bedford Bruegger used to be a great place with decent bagel sandwiches and a friendly staff. Since they've reopened after construction, they are aweful!! The staff is incompetent (it took 2 tries to get a sandwich correct), and the sandwich itself could hardly be considered a sandwich, scant ingredients - 1 sliver of onion, 1 sliver of pepper, an anemic egg and a tiny bagel. Was great in the summer 2017 - fast forward to fall and I have to agree w others. Waited nearly 20 mins while 5 staff members muddled about. Asked a few times about who was making a latte w soy -- eventually, someone came from the back and said to another staff member, they were out of soy. These days, my visits to the Bruegger's in Bedford are the only bright spots in my life. When I find myself in the unadulterated, if not fleeting, bliss of the heavenly nectar commonly known as the Fit 'N Fruitful™ smoothie, I visit a temporary nirvana, am transcended into a euphoric plane of happiness and contentment, before ultimately crashing down, back to the harsh, cruel reality of my existence. And yet, although this asylum I so desperately crave is immutably ephemeral, I return day after day, not just because I subsist off of the free bagels they give you for doing their surveys, but because of the spiritual connection I feel with each sip of expertly blended peach and protein. While my Herbie Turkey had a stack of turkey in it, our friend's custom Turkey sandwich only had one slice of turkey... both tasted wonderful, though. Our server/assembler also forgot to put cheese on one of our sandwiches, but happily corrected it. I love Brueggers, though, so they only lose one star for the inconsistencies. read more

FYI, As of this writing, the average review for this store is actually 1.5 stars. This is a new store that opened in April 2016. Reviews older than that refer to the old store. So, I had been going to the old Breuggers for years and really felt the loss during construction. The bagels at the newly reopened shop are as good as they always were but, as most reviewers have pointed out, the service has taken a huge step backwards. Gone is the friendly personable staff that made you feel good about coming in every Saturday. Now I feel like a cow being herded through a feedlot. My biggest peeve though is that I order at the register, my order gets punched into a computer, and transmitted to the line which is literally within arms reach of the cashier. There's no other communication between cashier and prep. This means that if there's isn't a button on the touchscreen for what I want, my request evaporates into thin air. I say, "extra butter", the cashier nods, smiles, says "yes", asks "anything else" just like they're programmed to and the prep line never gets that I asked for extra butter. Same happened when I wanted my bagel cut skinny but wanted to take the middle home for my son instead of having it thrown in the trash. I explicitly told the cashier twice. Both times the cashier nodded and said "yes", guy on the line never got the instructions. I don't like to make a fuss but I'm also not going to walk out with something other than what I ordered so I'm not sure how much of a regular I'll be going forward. So sad that my three star review actually improves the store's average. read more

Absolute worst service ever! Where do I even begin? I walked up to the lady making sandwiches and ordered a breakfast sandwich, I ask what bagel is commonly ordered with it, no answer. Ok. She starts opening cheese and throwing her trash all over the floor. I walk over to pay for the sandwich, cashier is just staring at me. No greeting. No smile. No "how can I help you?" Or "are you all set?" Just staring. I pay and I say "have a good day" to which she replies "yup." Get my sandwiches, no bag, no napkins, and still not a word from these employees. A good bagel joint could be a challenging task in the suburbs but the Bruegger's in Bedford turned into a good find in the beginning, and for a lot of items on their menu they are quite good. Their sandwiches have been good and fresh, although the wait at certain times can be a test of patience. But most recently the dozen bagels I purchase to toast for breakfast have been burnt. Sorry, just no easy way to put it. In the last few weeks it has been noticed that they have been sitting in the oven a bit too long, burning the outside. In my last two visits I have asked the person to select the ones that are not so well done. The folks there have been nice enough to attempt to honor my request. Despite bringing this to the manager's attention, I still hear the oven timers screaming away with attention coming a bit too late. I'm still going back though as they are fresh everyday! My family and I eat out a lot and decided to try Brueggers. We've been to others and we usually seem to enjoy it. We live in Bedford and ignored everyone that said not to go. We should have listened. This is by far the worst experience we've ever had, anywhere. The guy taking orders and making the sandwiches was absolutely the rudder person ever. Pissed off at everyone for coming in and ordering food. He's about 6 foot 4 inches. So if you see him, run. He moped around the store like a five year old who couldn't buy a toy. They were out of half the bagels they have baskets for. There was barely any turkey on my wife's 'Herby Turkey' (stupid name) and I barely had any chicken salad, but I did have plenty of lettuce and the crap part of the tomato. The biggest rip-off I have ever seen at a place to eat comes courtesy of Brueggers. Their kids grilled cheese meal is a joke. It's only $3.50 but you get about $1.25 worth of food and no drink. You can get chips or applesauce with the meal, individually they cost $.99. So you end up paying $2.50 for a 2 inch by 2 inch grilled cheese sandwich. I can safely say that we will never be going back. Worst $28.80 we've ever spent. read more

Because it's the closest bagel place to our home, we have no choice, but won't go back anymore. Every booth and table was dirty - had to ask the help (who were doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING) to clean a table for us. Also had to ask her to clean the dirty chairs that she ignored. The tall 6'4 guy and the girl did nothing but talk to each other as if out on a date, ignorning the fact there was no skim milk, cream, half-half, etc. in the containers at the station where coffee is fixed and the counter was full of spilled sugar and cream. SO UNAPPETIZING!!! I would not have expected this in a neighborhood as nice as Bedford, but when the help is there to socialize and no one cares, that's what happens. I shudder to think how dirty the back is where the bagels are actually baked. Won't be going back. I will buy the frozen Finagle a Bagels at the Stop and Shop from now on. WHAT A SHAME!!! read more

Today I went and for once they got my bagel right, the cashier was very nice and excited, but sadly he didn't have a name tag so I can't say his name. The bagels there are great, just sometimes they mess my order up. Last time I was there I ordered and 15-20 minutes later I asked where it was then another 10 minutes I asked again and finally 5 minutes later I got my bagel. Today's service was very good two people at the registers and the food took 5 minutes for 4 bagels and considering the amount of people there I found that time very fast. read more

Nice Brueggar's with a great location right next to the Whole Foods plaza. I hate to say it, but I don't think I've ever gotten a bagel that wasn't burnt around the edges from this location. Even when they're not busy at all they manage to overcook it. I also think the prices have gone up, and I'm definitely not a fan of that. For a good bagel selection, and if you just want a simple bagel and cream cheese, you really cannot beat this place though. My latest obsession is rosemary bagel with veggie cream cheese- delicious and not expensive, and fairly fast to get if you're in a hurry. As far as the seating area, it's always clean and the wifi is free. read more

When you ask for a plain bagel "as is," watch closely. I was expecting an uncut bagel and when I got home it was cut so many times. My bagel was in 8 pieces! (Cut in half and in half again) You can't make a sandwich at that point and it's hard to put a spread on that many pieces. I threw it away and went to Panera *I decided to give it another try because I had a coupon for a dozen bagels for $5.99. Why does Bruegger's make me bag my own bagel sandwich?? This never ceases to amaze me, and I usually just shrug it off. They don't even ask you if you want a bag--they just leave them on the counter and expect you to help yourself. Today I had my usual tuna salad sandwich on a softwich. They forgot to ask me if I wanted it toasted and I forgot to ask. It was an undercooked, doughy excuse for a bagel. Oh, and they had no chips, blaming it on a flooded basement. I used to go to the old Brueggers Bagels in Bedford. It was nice, and relaxing. This new one was a big disappointment. It took a long time to wait for the order, and once I did not get what I ordered. I found out after I left, and threw the bagel in the trash. The old store was also comfortable with booths,etc. The high tables and benches aren't my idea of comfortable. Also, there is nothing to absorb sound. The result is that sound bounces around, giving a noisy atmosphere to the place. It feels like a cheap warehouse. No thanks. read more

Gotta update review. Two stars because bagels are good and staff are awesome people. The system is a disaster. The management is a disaster. Therefore the quality and consistency really suffers. I was really glad when Bruegger's Bagels in Bedford reopened. For a long time I felt that I was getting better quality bagels than just about any other place that I tried. However, for over a month now, every time my husband or I go in to get a dozen bagels, they are either burnt or stale or both. Also, bagels should not have nooks and crannies like a Thomas's English Muffin. We tried again today and my husband walked out without our dozen bagels, and said that they were all burnt again. How many other people walk out feeling the same way, we will never know. And, why doesn't the management do anything to fix the problem even after being told several times that the bagels are burnt? Also, the prices are really high for a sandwich. You can get a much better bagel sandwich at the newly opened Pressed Cafe in nearby Burlington. read more

The new Bruegger's opened, place is great inside however the service was not. Unlike the old one when you told the employee exactly what you wanted now you go to the register order and pay. There were 14 people behind the counter and it still took 9 minutes to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a plain bagel as is. After calling out my wrong name I finally got my order only to realize 5 minutes later that it was wrong, the bagel had no cream cheese and the plain bagel was an everything cut in half. Pretty disappointing consider the old store was a well oiled machine. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

What happen to the old Bruegger's, the one with fresh hot bagels, quick service, and great coffee? The old Bruegger's moved to the back of the new plaza (combined with Jamba Juice) and just isn't the same. Having been a regular at the old Bruegger's I was pleased to see it reopen, but quickly found out this morning it's not the same Bagel place. There was no one in line, yet it took the cashier 5 minutes to take my order for a sliced bagel, not toasted. And another couple minutes for some to slice it. I poured a hazelnut coffee only to find coffee grounds floating in it, and then realize the half and half was empty. And the warm cinnamon sugar bagel I so longed for, has been replaced with what appears to be a frozen plain bagel barely sprinkled with sugar. I'm going to guess that when the old place closed, the staff and franchise owner left. And the new placed that opened is a Bruegger's Bagel in name, but NOT the same business as it replaced. What a shame. Don't waste your time. You're better off running into Whole Foods and picking up a pastry and coffee. read more

The practically empty store with 2 employees in the front chit chatting could not be bothered to help despite noticing I was standing waiting. 1 guy that had been doing prep came up from the front to assist and take my order. He then went back to doing prep and I have now waited 10+ minutes. The only reason it did not take longer is because I asked if was getting done anytime soon. It will be some time before I return and if I do it will probably not be this location. It is worth the drive to go elsewhere. read more

Went here after Church today to get a couple take-out sandwiches and one bagel, thinking the wait shouldn't be too long since there were only 2 customers before me. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I was so disappointed in the service and in the very long wait for my order. When I asked about my sandwich, the guy behind the counter said my sandwich was given away to another customer! Ended up waiting well over half an hour, and by this time the customers were rolling in pretty fast. The employee customer service needs major improvement. This location just re opened and honestly they completely down graded. Walk into this location and your confused immediately. There are 2 businesses in this small place with really one line but says there is a beverage line but your completely ignored by the cashier and always skipped for the customer in the "food line". It is only obvious that Bruegger's has changed its operational process. For example in its previous location, when you ordered a bagel it was made right as you ordered it. In this new location when you order your bagel you get put in a " wait status " and your order is filled at a later time. Why do I care? When I last went in, I ordered 2 bagels that I could see only 2 were left in the bin. I then waited a half hour and then made an inquiry. I was told that they were all out of the type bagels that I ordered and were in the process of cooking more, but it would take another 15-20 min. I got pissed at the manager because I saw the two bagels that I ordered at the time I ordered them. He told me that those two bagels were used to fill orders before me and when it was my time to fill my order there were none left so they put me in another wait period until they had cooked the bagels that I ordered. I find this process very annoying and intend to let their corporate HQ know. Currently I give them one star. read more

This is a Brueggers, so you pretty much know what you're getting. They're not the world's best bagels, but in New England you can't afford to be too picky. It's convenient. This renovated store recently re-opened, with a Jamba Juice inside. I haven't tried that yet. I get enough calories from my bagels. Anyway, there are two problems with the new setup. One is that the ceilings are so high that it swallows up sound, and if there are more than 2 people, you and the cashier can't hear each other. The other problem is that all orders are given to the cashier instead of the person making the bagels now, and the game of telephone that ensues almost guarantees that special requests will be messed up. If you don't mind asking them to re-make your sandwich, then no big deal I guess, just inconvenient. For the area, though, they still have some of the best food options, so I'm glad they're back. read more

Very disappointed with the new Bruegger's that just reopened. What had once been a relaxing Saturday morning bagel has turned into a loud chaotic hot mess. Took five minutes just to get through the crowd that was milling about waiting for their orders. There were far too many people behind the counter, they kept tripping over each other and it was clear that no one was in charge. It was impossible to enjoy oneself with the employee yelling at the top of her lungs every two minutes when someone's order was ready. My warm cinnamon sugar bagel tasted like someone just sprinkled a sugar packet on it, no cinnamon flavor at all. We won't be going back that's for sure, they've lost a customer. read more
