It was Saturday Night, hubby and I had a taste for Jamba Juice. We had great customer service at this location. Our server was Maurice.

My hubby ordered a chicken sandwich that was just as good.. All of our food was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. Portions are generous so hopefully you're very hungry or be prepared to bring plenty home. I was only able to eat half of my food and brought the other half home and my sandwich seemed better the next day which isn't always the case when you bring things home!! I recommend giving this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We had a very pleasant experience the food and service were fabulous

Dark beadboard walls, copper ceiling tiles, round orb lighting, and upstairs a cavernous space with soaring ceilings anchored by a stunning skylight. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the area. Date night approved. One gripe before we get to the good stuff: if you have pages and pages of creative cocktails and an extensive wine list, your two mocktail options deserve the same love. We don't drink and the options were fine but very sour and clearly an afterthought. Do better for the sober and sober curious crowd. Now the food. The burrata was creamy, rich, and gorgeous sitting in olive oil topped with chimichurri and grilled bread. Needed more balsamic to bring the acid balance home, but honestly still one of the better burratas I've had locally. The stuffed pork with gouda, chimichurri, and saffron potato wedges was a genuinely smart plate. The saffron wedges were a surprise standout, bringing a clean earthiness that cut through the richness beautifully. A touch heavy on the gouda and the whole dish woke up considerably with a little extra salt, but the bones of it are excellent. The churrasco hanger steak told the same story. Well cooked, flavorful, chimichurri doing its job. The curly fries were the one shrug of the night. Not bad, just boring next to everything else on offer. Mike our server closed the deal by steering us toward the caramel skillet cookie and honestly, bless him for it. Warm, salty, sweet, rich, topped with cold vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It is everything a skillet cookie should be and we scraped the pan. We are already planning the return visit and bringing friends. Barrel & Vine is an unexpected dining experience that Plainfield is lucky to have.

My husband likes meat, so we go out to eat fairly often so that my husband can get the foods that I do not allow in the house. We went to Niko's Breakfast Club and my husband loved it. There was truly nothing for me to eat except hashbrowns. They were very good, but it would have been nice if they had at least a few vegan options. Vegetarians always have plenty to eat at a breakfast spot. I believe that eggs and hashbrowns (no toast) are suitable for Celiac/gluten-free diets. They do have one gluten-free pancake. The service was fantastic! 5 stars, but they need to expand their menu offerings for people of different dietary needs/choices. Personally, we would not return due to the distance but mostly because they have nothing for me to eat.

The call was allegedly dropped from their end, so he calls back and the "manager" again wants to argue about it. I'm unsure what going on here, but I don't think we'll be back. Sad for sure, we were excited for a new breakfast spot locally.

A TALE OF TWO RESTAURANTS. A very weak fourth star…read more As you walk in the atmosphere is inviting. The dining room is spacious. Everything is in order and looks clean. I was sat immediately and my waitress took my order as soon as I was ready. Both the hostess and waitress were friendly and competent. Even the silverware was basically spotless. Unfortunately that's where the good news ends. I ordered the steak skillet with diced jalapeños. When it arrived it looked fine. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and inviting. When I took my first forkful it went downhill fast. The steak was cut into unappetizing kibble sized pieces. After eating a few bites I encountered my one and only sizeable piece of green pepper. Curious I took the eggs off the top of the rest of the skillet and then lost my appetite. Before me was a brown mess of ingredients. I order meals with a healthy amount of freshies in order to have something fresh and not too heavy, fatty or greasy. This was all of those. I finished the eggs and pushed brown pile away. SUCH A GOOD START! wasted by poor food. A note about the back of house management: there was a lot of standing around. The white guy with the white hair whom I took to be the owner had a look on his face like he just didn't wanna be there. Don't know if it's RBF but at least try to look like you are happy to see people. I'm just so disappointed. I'm not going to make a recommendation this time. They do some things so well and some so poorly. I don't think I could be fair.

The waitstaff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive without hovering. We started with drinks: blueberry mojitos and sangria. Both were fantastic. The flavors were perfectly balanced, refreshing, and it was clear they were made with real care and attention, not just poured and sent out. For appetizers, we ordered the chips with guacamole and salsa. We weren't expecting the chips to come out hot and clearly fresh from the fryer, but wow, perfectly crisp with just the right amount of salt. The guacamole tasted fresh and clean, and the salsa had a great balance of heat and flavor without overpowering anything. I ordered the birria tacos, and they were outstanding. The meat was incredibly well seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell when food is prepared by someone who truly cares about what they're making, those kinds of flavors can't be faked. The Cobb salad was equally impressive: fresh ingredients, a perfect portion size, moist chicken, and a dressing that tied everything together beautifully. One of the nicest surprises was learning that Urban Kitchen supports the community through Meals on Wheels. It's always great to enjoy a meal knowing the restaurant gives back. The only downside? We live six hours away. That said, we will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!
