Not only has the prices gone up, but what they give us for the price has gone down. If this isn't a sign that we're in a recession, then I don't know what to tell you. Parking here is pretty frustrating because there's a private lot on the premise, but it requires you to pay. However, there is a row of reserved parking spots that offers free 45-minute parking for Starbucks customers. We decided to park there since we were just going to make a really quick trip in. My experience overall was like any average Jamba Juice. The staff there didn't seem to be super excited but were kind, nonetheless. I went with my normal mango-a-go-go, which hit the spot on the super hot 90 degree day I went in. It was really tasty but the batch of mangoes I got were really stringy and they would get stuck inbetween my teeth while I drank it. Really Jamba!?!? This location has very narrow parking. Big trucks and suv's... good luck getting in and our of here. ok.. to the drinks. I have had Jamba juice since 2001ish, my college years until now. I have noticed that this particular location that I have visited throughout my 14 years with Jamba, produced inconsistent taste. Quantity is another issue! how can you fill my cup only 3/4's up?!?! I took one sip and said, "this is different." Then look down and saw that it was not filled up to where it normally would be. And no I did not take a long ass sip! I was quite disappointed with the person who made my drink. They just don't care. As much as I like Jamba Juice, think I'll stick to water instead of visiting this location. Once again let down I'm so over people acting like making a shake is a difficult thing. I went in with a friend and ordered shakes for us and they were made by a young lady and took my order and made them just like I asked, we finished our shakes and decided to get another little small one, went back in to be helped by another employee who told me my Shake couldn't be made the way I wanted even tho less than 5mins ago I just ordered the same shake. Smh Once I received my shake that was suppose to be thick it was watery and poorly put together. This well-placed location in the heart of Hillcrest is awesome and the customer service is always top notch. They open up early for those of you looking to stop on your way to work for one of their delicious menu items. Each time I've come here early in the morning I am always greeted with an upbeat and friendly staff member always happy to help me with my order. I have never to this date experienced any issues concerning this particular location it is definitely worth stopping by and treating yourself. My regular menu item is the protein berry with extra protein and I always get a sourdough pretzel to go with it. With so many other choices Jamba Juice should not be forgotten considering they were the leader and still are in this industry. read more

Me my dad and my brother have been working down the street from this Jamba Juice location. We have been ordering from them 2-4 times a week for the last 3 years. The old manager knew me by name when I called. So anyways there's a knew manager and she had the worst attitude, like when I walked in I got bad vibes immediately/ she asked me to pull up my mask but I couldn't hear her so I asked her to speak up. She got offended. Her name is shante. After coming here for 3 years they told me today I can't come to there store!! We literally have spent thousands of dollars there I have tipped probably hundred dollars in ones. Unbelievable all because someone got offended. I really miss the old manager she was so nice. Full disclosure I don't come to Jamba Juice often. I was close by and needed a refresher. The is very clean and well kept. Plenty of seating around the windows. I ordered their Orange Carrot fusion. It has fresh carrots, OJ, bananas, mango, soymilk, greek yogurt and chia seeds. It also comes in a juice version. It was really refreshing and tasty. The service was quick and friendly. They juice the OJ and carrots in front of you so you know it's fresh. I wouldn't mind stopping in again if I had another craving. Oh yeah! I think this may be the worst Jamba Juice I've ever visited. Sunday we waited close to 20 minutes for 2 smoothies with only 2 customers ahead of us. I know there is sometimes a long wait, but I watched those mouth-breathing teenagers just stand there gaping for minutes at a time between activities. Once the guy finally poured our smoothies into the cups, it was a full three minutes before he put the lids on them and called our name. In the mean time he sort of gazed around the store, back over his shoulder, shuffled his hands a little, and maybe drooled. I've been to Jamba Juice locations up and down California over the years. I've had friends and later, students, work at stores in San Jose and San Luis Obispo. The uniformity of the system makes Jamba Juice a solid 4-star chain. So what the hell is wrong with the Hillcrest location? Why the breakdown? Is it the small L-shaped work area, as opposed to the typical open behind-the-counter floor plan? Are the employees competing to see who can do the least while alternately talking loudly to friends and staring into space? Have the real employees been replaced by pod people who want to dominate Earth through maximum frustration and inefficiency? Is the location staffed by zombies who don't understand that for some of us delicious fruit smoothies are even better than fresh brains? What's the deal?! Because if you're trying to serve delicious smoothies to happy customers in a reasonable amount of time, it's time to maybe rethink the drooling and shuffling schtick. It's not working. read more

I haven't been to Jamba Juice in many, many moons. Mainly because they're not as healthy as you're led to believe. It's a sugar bonanza up in those smoothies! However, I went in today for their "free breakfast" campaign. How could I pass up a five-finger discount like that? There are 6-8 new breakfast options...I went with a concoction of strawberries, bananas, peanut butter and granola. It was good, I guess, but it's seriously just another smoothie that you eat with a spoon. I don't understand why they blended up the granola..seems to me like it'd make more sense to just pile it on top. I dunno. Good concept, I suppose...but I'm in no hurry to make Jamba my go-to breakfast destination. Unless, of course, they decide to do "free breakfast" day EVERY day! First time here. Ordered the Tropical Greens with whey. Lee Ann helped me out and made a ton of recommendations. LOVED the blend she recommended and it totally helped my post workout fatigue. As for the story about the Jamba Juice adventure.... As I walked out the door I managed to spill me entire drink. I walked back in to order another mix and they refused to take my money a second time. THAT is what I call customer service. They even ran my wallet out to me after I left it on the counter after my second visit. Jamba Juice presents itself as a healthy alternative to fast food, and sure, it is better than Burger King, but when I went onto Jamba Juice's website to check their nutritional information I was shocked. Everything, even their green drink and all fruit drinks are heavily processed and loaded with sugar. Boo! But all that aside, the people who work at this location are very friendly. I stop in here for wheat grass shots and the staff are always friendly and sometimes they even give me a little extra juice. I tried the yogurt here with a Goupon deal that was offered a while back. I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good! Probably not my first choice for a yogurt place, but Jamba Juice has always popped up here and there in my life. Smoothie wise, I am a fan of the Strawberry Surf Rider; however with Senor Mangoes decently close to me and more reasonably priced, Jamba Juice is less and less in my radar. You can tell they are trying out new offerings to keep the public interested, but it might be a wasted effort, who knows. This location in particular is a-ok. Don't they know about the anti-oxidant properties cranberries possess, or do they just hate the state of Maine?). But, they are kind enuf to substitute raspberry juice for me and I am HAPPY. Usually I hit up the JJ in Mira Mesa by work, but on a bright sunny Saturday morning, I was having a craving for the Chunky Strawberry - fruit blended with yogurt, granola and peanut butter, topped with bananas. I highly recommend this treat to fill you up and make you feel relatively healthy. Service at this location was speedy for being as busy as it was. The cashier could've benefitted from some friendliness lessons, but the person who made my treat and gave it to me was nice. Parking in the lot next to the building is free for 15 minutes for JJ and the Starbucks next door, which is extremely helpful. This area of Hillcrest is always busy (but what area of Hillcrest ISN'T?) and street parking can be sparse if you just want to pop in and out of somewhere. read more

My coworkers and I usually come to this location for treats during the work day. We generally have great service! Unfortunately, today Angaline took our order. I asked her about her on her opinion for one of the smoothies because I have never tried it before. Her answers were head nodes and short "uh huhs" every time my coworker and I changed our mind and asked a question she huffed and puffed, tapping her fingers on the screen acting super annoyed that we were there. To work all day and come and get a treat and have someone ruin your day with their horrible attitude sucks. Especially when it's from somewhere we come often. Her name tag said "shift lead" which is weird because she should be leading by example. The tall gentleman with the dreads was very pleasant! Over all horrible experience though. I remember back when everyone thought Jamba Juice was cool and super healthy. I was concerned about HFCS in those days(these days, my main concern is Gluten), so I made a choice not to indulge. Now every cup lets you know that your smoothie contains no High Fructose Corn Syrup (which, despite the cute ads on television these days, is not healthy just because it is "made from corn and has the same calories as sugar"). The absence of HFCS is by no means an absence of sugar. Trust me, there is more than plenty. Still, the other day I needed something to eat/drink fast, and it had to be gluten free(GF). Fruit + sorbet = most likely GF, but based on past experiences with my juice containing much more than what I thought, I decided to ask about it. This place calls itself a health-oriented establishment, so they should be able to answer my question, right? Neg. Does the sorbet at jamba juice contain gluten? The answer I received was "Uhm.. maybe a little?". Giving a person with gluten sensitivity/intolerance "a little" gluten doesn't turn out nicely. It's different for different people, but for me, it freaks out my nervous system. It's rather unpleasant, but I didn't have to experience that since whats-his-juice was too busy talking with his buddies to just ask his buddies, or manager, a very simple question that would have helped me out tremendously. (For those who want to know, I found out from the JJ website that the only drink containing gluten is pomegranate heart happy, but 3 boosts contain gluten - Daily vitamin, heart happy, and energy.) I think I will give them another chance, even if it is just to force them to look at the ingredients in their drinks and see how easy it would have just been to do that in the first place. I think "incompetent" is a good word to describe some of the employees here, maybe "apathetic" is a good word too. Are the drinks yummy? Yes. The food? I don't know - those pretzels and other baked snacks definitely all contain gluten - perhaps my next question for them will be whether their bread contains gluten, and If I can't get an answer for that, I give up. read more

The scarcity of parking options in Hillcrest makes me wary of venturing over these days, as half of the time I am now pushing around my lil peanut in his stroller, depending on location and nature of my visit. That being said, I take solace in the free 15 minute parking available in the smallish lot on Robinson off Sixth. I like the fresh smell of oranges and smoothie when I walk into this Jamba, as well as the AC on a warm San Diego afternoon. I only order smoothies here, so I cannot speak for the food, but I love the Peach Pleasure! The Aloha Pineapple and Strawberries Delight (?) are also great, and I usually get the Original size with an energy boost. Solid 4 stars for being a "corporate" smoothie joint; service is mostly efficient and pleasant, and the store is always clean. No restroom here, but you can walk next door to Starbucks and use theirs, hehe. read more

This Jamba has had it's lows and highs over the 10 years I've been going. With the crew they have now, the store is definitely experiencing a high. Every single person who works there is super cool and friendly. They always remember my name and my somewhat complicated order. I look forward to my visits there. My only complaint is I'm very nocturnal, so I wish they were open a little later. I'm sure it would be more of a loss, with me being the only one getting smoothies at 9pm, than anything. It has a parking lot that it shares with a couple other businesses. I believe it's free if you're patronizing the businesses in question for 15 min. I would double check that. read more

Super unsanitary. Went here last Saturday to purchase 2 smoothies. My smoothie was alright, my friend's juice was served in a gas station cup. We were waiting when we saw an employee pick up someone's mobile order off the floor that she dropped, put it back on the counter, and give it to the customer. This is the location we'd frequent on the weekends since it was close to home in Mission Hills and on our way to the Zoo when we'd go in the mornings. To me, I was getting the same product as the other locations, but even though we were in one of my favorite neighborhoods, I felt like the service was actually less personal!
