Came in for a quick meal before heading to a running expo. Unfortunately service was slow and I order was wrong. We did get the correct smoothie type and protein waffle. Our order took a bit to get taken and when we did get them the drinks were the wrong size . The worker was overwhelmed with orders and made a mistake when placing our order . The protein waffle with avocado with everything season was delicious, it was sweet and savory. When our smoothie was ready, the pb&j which was supposed to be a regular size, she received a small. Mines was a chocolate and peanut butter smoothie. I asked for regular size, and was l charged for a small size. Then when I got my order I got mini size. I haven't been back to a Nekter since college, there's basically none in the South Bay or SF! My boyfriend and I got the pitaya and the acai mango bowls- they're so large for the price!! Definitely a steal. What I wasn't as much of a fan of was the acai mango base- it had a better, more creamy/thick texture than the pitaya for sure, but the taste was just alright. It didn't taste that strongly of mango (at least ripe mango). The pitaya had a better taste than the acai mango, but had a higher water content. We liked the toppings and the additional agave syrup was a nice touch, but it'd be really awesome to see more be added (e.g there's a chain up in the Bay Area that has so many awesome choices, from fresh papaya to dried mulberries to matcha powder). They also allow for multiple bases in one order, which is really yummy! I like tasting how different fruits interact. read more

There's plenty of combinations and they are substitution friendly. . Both times I've been here I got one of their açaí bowls and I really like how refreshing and filling they are. I hate leaving bad reviews because I know everyone has off days and I am not a regular at this store but today was the absolute worst nektar experience I've ever had. Staff seemed very lost. Items were being made and thrown on the counter with no name called so people were just grabbing random stuff that wasn't theirs. We ordered online and had to wait another 35 minutes for our order which had to be made twice because they kept making it wrong. It felt like they didn't really know what they were doing and just kept throwing stuff together. The lady behind me was frustrated that she also had an extended wait and complained to the employees who then got argumentative and as the customer walked out the door they said "bye" multiple times very sarcastically. It was uncomfortable. I don't know what bowl I ate today but it wasn't the one I ordered and I wasn't going to say anything after the way they treated the other customers. They had quite a few people in line in front of me and normally açaí bowls take forever but they were cranking them out like pros. Although Nekter gets all the reviews and hype, I'm not as big of a fan and prefer Unico right around the corner. The Mango Delight smoothie with pineapple, mango, agave, and housemade cash milk was fine, but nothing special. The combination of ingredients wasn't anything interesting or unique. I've had identical smoothies at other juice bars. I would go to Nekter at a different location and try a more adventurous smoothie like the Turmeric Sunrise with mango, pineapple, coconut butter and water. An eclectic mix of ingredients. The Watermelon Cooler juice looks quite tempting as well! If you want to try something refreshing and unique, I recommend walking a block up to Unico and trying the Lunch Date smoothie (peanut butter, banana, spinach, date, housemade milk) or Keep Me Young (mango, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, housemade milk) smoothie. Finally tried this place! I've heard great things about it. I'm a sucker for a good açaí bowl and boy did they deliver. There's a few choices. I went with the açaí mango bowl. It was huge. It costs about $8.39. Don't quote me but well worth it! I'm not complaining. The good thing about this location is there's 30 minute parking across the street. The employees are friendly and the location is big. I can't wait to try all the bowls! I'll definitely be back.
