First time trying Juice Alchemy. Came from Pilates and wanted to use some of my class pass points to order food. Juice Alchemy was the only place within 5 min that had a protein smoothie. I ordered a Banana Boat (+Plant Based Chocolate Protein) smoothie. It's 16 oz. It tastes really good! The only thing I would do (and this is just cause I live strawberries) would be to add strawberries and give it a sweet taste. I'll ask if I can do an add in the next time I swing by. I came around 8:40-8:50 am and my smoothie was ready within 5ish minutes of me ordering it. They have a few chairs and tables outside and some seating inside so you can plan to stay and enjoy your order if you'd like. It's not that far from my Pilates studio so I can definitely see myself returning here on my way home from working out in the morning. read more

I got the chicken chipotle salad sandwich and a sunrise juice. Overall, both were delicious. Service was great and got my sandwich fairly quick. This was my first time here and I really did enjoy it. However, $10 for a small a juice seemed excessive. I will probably come back and skip out on drinks. read more

Needed a retinol boost for my skin so I thought to order a juice from Juice Alchemy. You can place an online order, but I decided to order inside since I was nearby. I was on a time crunch though and was told the wait for a carrot juice would be 15 minutes, so please allow time for any custom-made juices. I wasn't really offered any alternatives, but I knew they sold juices on the side in their grab and go fridge, so I opted for that instead. The juice tasted great and was quite sweet, but refreshing. My juice was the Energy Booster and was a blend of apple, mint, carrot, and pineapple juice. They offer juice cleanse packages as well as acai bowls and sandwiches and is one of the healthier options for food in the Bankers Hill location. read more

Omg -- our favorite local smoothie spot! We always get the banana boat smoothie and my goooodness is it delicious. Perfect balance of banana and peanut butter and sweetness, with almond milk and dates. Highly recommend -- it's perfect after a hike or on a hot day. The workers are always so sweet, and we're lucky we live a walk away from here!!! read more

Tucked away between a nail salon and massage parlor is Juice Alchemy. Right when you enter you feel healthier. Service was super helpful and they let me know the açaí bowl was dairy free. Relaxing music was playing and other patrons were hanging out sipping on their juices or waiting for their orders. Went for the 16 oz Açaí bowl, but they offer a 24 oz which looked massive. Comes with honey almond granola, strawberries, blueberries, banana, and your choice of honey or guava. I picked honey and they didn't skimp out. The bowl was perfection and they provided enough granola where you could mix it with the açaí which was fun. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area! read more

I really tried with this place, but I can't pretend anymore. According to Merriam-Webster, a smoothie is "a creamy beverage made of fruit blended with juice, milk, or yogurt." Key word: creamy. What you get here is watery, thin, and closer to fruit-flavored milk with melted ice than an actual smoothie. Every time I've ordered, it's been disappointing. And the customer service? Somehow worse than the drinks. Instead of working out how to actually make a proper smoothie, staff give you the upward-eye look and ask, "You want more ice?" No, I don't want more ice, I want a smoothie that meets the definition of a smoothie. At this point, I'm just happy I'm saving my money and not wasting it here anymore. There are plenty of places that can blend fruit and treat customers with basic respect. read more

I visit this place a few times a week for smoothies and they have never disappointed. It's always very clean inside and staff is friendly. Their smoothie recipes are so good. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Horrible and atrocious service, it was like I was talking to a wall. Never told me how long the food would take. The açaí bowl was mediocre at best, didn't taste like anything at all. And the bottom was frozen so I'm assuming they pre make them and just pull them out. The sandwich had a hair in it and it was embedded into the turkey. The bacon also looked super limp. I called and left a voicemail - no response. Called the next day and was told management would call but it has now been 3 days with no communication. Save your money and time. This place is trash. read more

When I drank the Vanilla Kale all I could think was this is definitely something I can make at home for a lot cheaper. I asked the worker, who was very kind, for recommendations and she said this was one of their most popular ones. I mean it's not horrible but it's also not great either. Was craving a smoothie after a long day in Balboa Park. Definitely a cute little spot with a nice seating atmosphere. I got the Coffee Date smoothie in 'kids' size. Banana, cold brew, and dates for a refreshing end of day pick me up. It tasted great. Unfortunately, the girl taking my order almost seemed annoyed that another customer and I walked in. She was unfriendly taking my order. I kind of took the hint and just took the smoothie to go. I'd love to go back and try an açai bowl or a sandwich, maybe on a different day. read more

While visiting the beautiful state of California, by way, the breathtaking city of San Diego, I have enjoyed every meal thus far. Unfortunately, some of the food was a bit heavy, and did not agree with my digestive system. I came to yelp, as always looking for a nearby Juice bar. You would think, being in San Diego, you will find one on every block, this wasn't the case. The first location that I went to, was closed, and the number was out of service. This location was the closest to the location where I came up short. Upon arrival, The gentleman behind the counter greeted me with a warm smile. He was very hospitable, very caring, and was very accommodating to my digestive needs. I took him up on his suggestions to do the flu shot along with the detox smoothie. He explained that this location use the cold press, and that I could use my juice up to five days later. This was very impressive. Although the flu shot was spicy, it was nice in taste. He even gave me a little extra and I was able to share it with my daughter, who was about to travel back east. My juice was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect blend of fruits and vegetables, unlike other places where you could taste the celery in the detox. I was able to drink it, literally the whole bottle in less than 30 seconds. I wish I would've came back the following day to get another one. I decided to venture out and try another location in which I will also leave a review for that place. If you are in need of a detox mix with great customer service, this place sets the standard. read more

" hey sorry.,, is the granola and the PB in here ? I don't think it gets any fresher or more delicious! The açai bowl is highly recommended, along with the Banana Boat Smoothies, my two favourites. They recently added wraps - I've only tried the chipotle chicken, but have ordered it now three times in a row. The staff here have become like family, participating Elizabeth who always makes me feel welcome and at home. We got the island smoothie which was super refreshing on a hot day. Parking isn't super convenient but there is a 15 minute parking spot close to the juice shop. The staff were very friendly and recommended the island smoothie to us. They use coconut milk for this drink so it's dairy free. read more

This little juicery has been in Bankers Hill a long time. The ambiance smells of fruit, they have açaí bowls, juice, smoothies, avocado toast, sandwiches, lattes and tea. I'd say for two juices and two sandwiches I believe my bill was $45. If you desire something healthy, fresh, and something yummy to bring to Balboa Park which is one block away. My wife and I both ordered the 3 day juice cleanse. I am NOT a beet fan (one of the juices was made with beets) but it was soooo good! The 6th juice of the day was my favorite- kind of like a dessert at the end of the day. We loved the juices so much, we ordered the cleanse again (allow them at least 5 hours to make before pick up). We both feel great and it was an excellent kick start to our new healthier lifestyle! On another note: their acai bowls are delicious!!! Wish this place had some type of a rewards program - apparently they used to. We will be going back as this has become our new favorite spot for juices and acai bowls! read more

TO! DIE! FOR! Omg omg omg, I can't get over how good that chipotle chicken sandwich was!!!! I was going to go with the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich, and thankfully I looked up at the wall where the specials are written. And shout out to the cashier (I didn't catch her name) because I asked which was better and she said both were good, but the CC was her favorite. It was so good, I should've gotten another lol 10/10 recommend!! I ordered a small Mango Ginger smoothie and it was good. Pretty well balanced. Not as sweet as I would've like, but I wanted something healthy this morning so this did the job. I will absolutely be back anytime I'm in the area. Mmm delicious bowl! Great price, $8 plus $1 for PB. You can earn award points here. Nice staff. Excellent COVID safety set up where you order at the door. They gave me a ton of PB! Almost too much. Came here on a toasty Saturday.. craving a cold smoothie. I was warmly greeted and immediately found a list of delicious and creative smoothies being offered-- some fruit based, vegetable based, even cold brew based! I chose to indulge in the vanilla kale smoothie because it sounded different.. it comes with almond butter and almond milk.. which give a rich creamy flavor and texture. This smoothie was excellent! The banana cuts most of the kale flavor and paired with the almond milk.. it's an overall hit. My smoothie was $8.. but I believed the ingredients are quality and worth it. I am also in the mood for a quality smoothie, and Juice Alchemy not makes a number of great ones, but also use terrific ingredients in them. I had the Honey Bee which came with almond milk, honey, honey almond granola, almond, and a little bit of ginger as I requested: a 16 oz cup for $7.75. The smoothie was very well made, and what I loved best about it was that it had little bits of granola and almonds to chew on after each drink of the straw. It tasted great with subtle flavors of honey and almonds. Customer service was most excellent, and their products being well priced, it's an great place. read more

I can't speak for everything on the menu but their smoothies are very good and the people that I have met who work here have all seemed very friendly. I really like the coffee date smoothie. If you like coffee this is the one for you. I tried to make something similar at home and it tasted like trash.I guess I'll have to keep coming here when I want one of these smoothies:) I also got the $1 power bite and those are tasty as well. read more

Juice alchemy is good, but not the best. I've had a couple of their drinks and thought they were ok. The coffee one is the best I've had so far but I wish they had bigger straws because the date pieces get stuck. Parking is not ideal but you can usually find something on the street over. read more

This little store is inside the Bakeshop by Coco Playa so the sign is hard to spot. They sell açaí bowls (in a cup) and smoothies + Brazilian cheese bread :) The acai is smooth and creamy, and I liked how it was sweet (honey added) and didn't melt very quickly. Super tasty! They do a good job layering on the toppings and making the cup look pretty. There's an option to do half acai and half coconut sorbet; the sorbet was super sweet and packed a punch of coconut flavor-- so good and refreshing! The blueberries seemed thawed from frozen so some of them were still frosty but they were still sweet. MT really enjoyed the pistachio butter too. They did away with their Tuesday special of unlimited toppings, but now you get unlimited regular toppings everyday with regular+ sizes. Premium options (like protein powder, pistachio butter, almond butter, goji berries, etc) come with an additional cost. Definitely pricey but a special, fun, and tasty treat! We enjoyed Açaí Carioca so much we went 3 times in a week! This location has better parking (a shopping plaza lot), was less busy, friendlier service, and had a few seats outside compared to their other location. That makes this my favorite açaí spot I've tried so far in San Diego. The Brazilian bread is super addicting as well!

This time, I decided to visit their UCSD location, which is right in the middle of University of California San Diego's campus. They open around 10 AM on Saturdays (and typically around 8 AM on weekdays), and even right at opening there were already a lot of people waiting. My friend and I were still able to get in and out pretty quickly around 10. I ended up getting their mango passion base along with açaí. For toppings, I loaded it up strawberries, bananas, apples, blackberries, blueberries they truly have so many options. I also love their variety of nuts, seeds, and different types of nut butters. They really don't skimp on choices. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by. I was SO full after, and honestly, you could even split a bowl with a friend because they pack it generously. It's about $12 for a normal medium-sized bowl, which I think is worth it for the portion and quality. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The ambiance is nice it's more of a grab-your-bowl and then sit outside type of vibe, but there is indoor seating as well. Definitely one of my favorite açaí spots, and this location did not disappoint.

After waiting long enough, I finally went up to an older gentleman working there (I'm assuming the owner) and politely explained that I had been waiting a very long time and was confused why people ordering after me were getting their food first. Instead of apologizing or even acknowledging the mistake, he was rude, dismissive, and acted like I was inconveniencing him for asking about an order that should have been ready ages ago. Then, after another 10 minutes, my bowls were finally ready. In total, I waited about 35 minutes after checking in for pickup. To top it all off, the older gentleman practically shoved the bowls at me without so much as a "sorry for the wait." Look, delays happen. Mistakes happen. What bothered me was the complete lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service. If you're running behind, just be honest about it. Don't tell someone 10 minutes when it's really going to be over half an hour. The açaí is good, but not nearly good enough to make up for being treated like an annoyance. There are plenty of other places in San Diego serving great bowls without the attitude.

We parked on the right side off street non marked spots. Apparently, the entire area is a no parking spot unless you have a parking pass. OUCH!

The restaurant wasn't packed with customers but they were definitely short staffed or something because there were two couples sitting next to us who were also waiting for their food. One couple was ready to leave when their food came out at that exact moment. The servers did apologize and told us that they were having issues with the kitchen. They also offered us all free orange juice. However, if they knew they were having issues with the kitchen then they should've told us earlier before we got seated so people could go elsewhere rather than waiting an hour for their food. Overall, service here was very poor. In terms of food, it was unfortunately pretty good but not worth the wait. I really liked the simple toast with matcha cream on top as well as the curry hamburg. My friend ordered the shakshuka (not pictured because it came last and everyone just wanted to eat at that point) which was also pretty good. For the avocado toast, the toast was too hard so I wouldn't recommend it. We also ordered a yuzu and matcha yuzu mimosa. Both tasted like yuzu. The matcha yuzu one was basically a green yuzu mimosa. They have a vero water purification system so their water was really good lol.
