First time trying Juice Alchemy. Came from Pilates and wanted to use some of my class pass points to order food. Juice Alchemy was the only place within 5 min that had a protein smoothie. I ordered a Banana Boat (+Plant Based Chocolate Protein) smoothie. It's 16 oz. It tastes really good! The only thing I would do (and this is just cause I live strawberries) would be to add strawberries and give it a sweet taste. I'll ask if I can do an add in the next time I swing by. I came around 8:40-8:50 am and my smoothie was ready within 5ish minutes of me ordering it. They have a few chairs and tables outside and some seating inside so you can plan to stay and enjoy your order if you'd like. It's not that far from my Pilates studio so I can definitely see myself returning here on my way home from working out in the morning. read more

Relaxing music was playing and other patrons were hanging out sipping on their juices or waiting for their orders. Went for the 16 oz Açaí bowl, but they offer a 24 oz which looked massive. Comes with honey almond granola, strawberries, blueberries, banana, and your choice of honey or guava. I picked honey and they didn't skimp out. I really tried with this place, but I can't pretend anymore. According to Merriam-Webster, a smoothie is "a creamy beverage made of fruit blended with juice, milk, or yogurt." Key word: creamy. What you get here is watery, thin, and closer to fruit-flavored milk with melted ice than an actual smoothie. Every time I've ordered, it's been disappointing. And the customer service? Somehow worse than the drinks. Instead of working out how to actually make a proper smoothie, staff give you the upward-eye look and ask, "You want more ice?" No, I don't want more ice, I want a smoothie that meets the definition of a smoothie. At this point, I'm just happy I'm saving my money and not wasting it here anymore. There are plenty of places that can blend fruit and treat customers with basic respect. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Horrible and atrocious service, it was like I was talking to a wall. Never told me how long the food would take. The açaí bowl was mediocre at best, didn't taste like anything at all. And the bottom was frozen so I'm assuming they pre make them and just pull them out. The sandwich had a hair in it and it was embedded into the turkey. The bacon also looked super limp. I called and left a voicemail - no response. Called the next day and was told management would call but it has now been 3 days with no communication. Save your money and time. This place is trash. read more

Was craving a smoothie after a long day in Balboa Park. Definitely a cute little spot with a nice seating atmosphere. I got the Coffee Date smoothie in 'kids' size. Unfortunately, some of the food was a bit heavy, and did not agree with my digestive system. I came to yelp, as always looking for a nearby Juice bar. You would think, being in San Diego, you will find one on every block, this wasn't the case. The first location that I went to, was closed, and the number was out of service. This location was the closest to the location where I came up short. Upon arrival, The gentleman behind the counter greeted me with a warm smile. He was very hospitable, very caring, and was very accommodating to my digestive needs. I took him up on his suggestions to do the flu shot along with the detox smoothie. He explained that this location use the cold press, and that I could use my juice up to five days later. This was very impressive. Although the flu shot was spicy, it was nice in taste. He even gave me a little extra and I was able to share it with my daughter, who was about to travel back east. My juice was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect blend of fruits and vegetables, unlike other places where you could taste the celery in the detox. I was able to drink it, literally the whole bottle in less than 30 seconds. I wish I would've came back the following day to get another one. I decided to venture out and try another location in which I will also leave a review for that place. If you are in need of a detox mix with great customer service, this place sets the standard. read more

My wife and I both ordered the 3 day juice cleanse. I am NOT a beet fan (one of the juices was made with beets) but it was soooo good! The 6th juice of the day was my favorite- kind of like a dessert at the end of the day. We loved the juices so much, we ordered the cleanse again (allow them at least 5 hours to make before pick up). I was warmly greeted and immediately found a list of delicious and creative smoothies being offered-- some fruit based, vegetable based, even cold brew based! I chose to indulge in the vanilla kale smoothie because it sounded different.. it comes with almond butter and almond milk.. which give a rich creamy flavor and texture. This smoothie was excellent! I am also in the mood for a quality smoothie, and Juice Alchemy not makes a number of great ones, but also use terrific ingredients in them. I had the Honey Bee which came with almond milk, honey, honey almond granola, almond, and a little bit of ginger as I requested: a 16 oz cup for $7.75. The smoothie was very well made, and what I loved best about it was that it had little bits of granola and almonds to chew on after each drink of the straw.
