James Event Productions hosts Over the Hump mountain bike races at Irvine Lake. It is a very well organized event and fun for the entire family. The races are well run, the parking is easy and we always feel safe and have a great time. I also store my rv and boat at Irvine Lake RV Storage which is run by James Events. It is affordable and secure. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I had an issue parking my rv into a specific spot so they actually found me a more accessible space when it became available! Highly recommend this production company and would feel comfortable attending any event they hosted. read more

We worked with James Events to organize our company's summer picnic 2017. From the very beginning of our search James Events was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating to all our requests. During the RFP stage other event coordinators were slow to reply, some didn't even return calls, and others were just not the most friendly of people. We decided to go with James Events as they were very quick to respond and accommodating to all our requests without hesitation. We worked with Daralin Dotts during our planning stage, she is organized, attentive and very knowledgeable when it comes to event planning. Our team had many questions and many changes throughout the whole process and she was wonderful at addressing all our concerns and very flexible to all the changes. Jason Thibert was our event manager the day of the picnic. Everything ran smoothly without hiccups. The entire staff was very attentive to our guests and very pleasant to work with. Needless to say, our summer picnic was a huge success! With almost 600 guests, adults and children, everyone had a wonderful time! We've been working with James Productions for years and they've been great. We are about to launch our 5th Annual OC Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer Festival out at Oak Canyon and we just launched a new event called Sabroso that took place out at Lake View. (gets a rad breeze but only has room for about 1,500 people) Its been awesome having the James Prod. team's support and recommendations on our events. They are pro's... they've done this a long time so when we get close to event time we will show them our plans and often time they will say, "oh... you dont want to do that..." or "Have you considered this?" When you're producing an event with literally thousands and thousands of attendees and hundreds of vendors... its insanely valuable to have an additional line of defense that it willing to speak up if they think you could do something more efficiently or if they can prevent you from running into some unforeseen issues. We worked with them back in Irvine for a couple of years over by Wild Rivers when we first started in 2010 also. I miss that park... totally unrelated but that's where I got married too! Sad that its gone. One of the things that gets them that final 5th star from me is their attention to detail and their desire to make your "nice event" and INCREDIBLE EVENT! They have soo many resources available like ferris wheels, bounce houses, sumo wrestling suits, dunk tanks... all sorts of stuff that totally elevates the festival. The Parks and restrooms have always been very clean and well maintained... I honestly dont know another company out there that A. Does what they do or B. have the resources they do. This review is for the Lakeview Park event facility, not the events company specifically as I was only a guest at the event I attended. Overall, we had a great time. There were tons of games available for kids and adults to play, plenty of restrooms, a big open grassy area for spreading out a blanket and lots of shade. There was plenty of staff on hand, and things seemed to run smoothly from the guest perspective, for the most part. They have a great sound system which allows for you to hear announcements and music throughout the facility. The food was pretty good, for outdoor BBQ picnic food. Everything looked and tasted fresh when it was first out out, and the staff helping to serve was friendly. There were some snacks throughout the day as well and they were all pretty average. Nothing to write home about, but pretty good for serving large groups at once outdoors. The open grassy area is all on a hill so it was a little tricky to find a flat space to put down our chairs. The grass is not well kept and there were a lot of large patches of mud where the grass was worn/dead. There was also a lot of crab grass, which tells me they may not put too much work into the park area. I guess I would have expected a privately owned event facility to put a little more into the upkeep of the lawn, they aren not a non-profit or government funded park after all. There are, however, tons of big beautiful trees which provide ample shade. We did not even need the umbrella we brought. There is also a very nice breeze that blew through the canyon and kept us cool even though it was a pretty hot day. The picnic tables and surrounding areas were not super clean, but we just skipped them and ate on our picnic blanket. It didn't seem that the tables had been cleaned prior to our event, or maybe were cleaned too far ahead and got dirty again. Ants were everywhere, in droves. We could not get away from them. The grassy area is just totally invaded everywhere you sit and every planter we sat on the edge of ended up with ants crawling on our legs. They could do a better job of ant control. Also, if you have allergies, beware. I have pretty substantial seasonal allergies and I left the place with an allergy attack that lasted 2 days. I could not stop rubbing my itchy eyes, I had a rash all over my legs where I was seated in the grass, and it took several doses of Benadryl to bring it down. I would suggest taking meds ahead of time and avoid sitting directly in the grass if you have bad allergies, I have no idea what set me off but it was Spring so it could be anything. Overall it was a nice place for a low-key picnic type event, nothing fancy or upscale, but just right for a fun afternoon. read more

Just attended a Christmas party that was put on through James Event & had an amazing time!!! The venue was decked out top to bottom, employees were super friendly, the DJ played more current music (nothing that was too old or slow for the crowd), food was tasty, picture set up spots were so much fun, etc... The night was more fun than I thought one could have at a company Christmas event. Hope to have more events through James Event in the future. read more

From the very beginning the receptionist was rude and did not seem to care. I don't care how big you think you are poor customer service will catch up with you. They took forever to answer emails. Very disorganized and uncaring. The only reason they're in business is I suspect they have exclusive rights to some B rated venues in OC which they probably own. While they were taking forever to put together a quote for me I hired another great company and proceeded to plan my event. read more

We had a company party today hosted by James Events. It was SO well done. I would recommend them to anyone. They had every service we wanted - coloring contests for the kids, hula hoop, water balloon toss, several bounce houses, a DJ, airbrushed face paint/tattoos... The list goes on & on. The emcee did a great job & the staff is what really set them apart. Everyone was extremely professional & went out of their way to help instead of just doing the minimum which you often see. One staff member was shooing bees away from my daughter which is a small thing but was so helpful (the bees were so pesky & persistent) & thoughtful. Definitely not something she needed to do. They also had adequate staffing at each station so a bigger bounce house would be 2 people watching the kids, making sure it didn't get over crowded, that no one got hurt, etc. I've been to big events where they set stuff up but that's where it ends & the kids just go crazy w no supervision & distracted parents. It let us enjoy the event more knowing our kids weren't going to get totally crushed while bouncing (we watch ours but not everyone does!) We'll definitely be using them for our annual company picnic again! read more

James Event is awesome. They have provided our company picnics for 30 years and everyone loves their events! They do all the work and at a very competative price (we have had to bid and they win everytime). Their staff is helpful and friendly and there is no detail that is missed! They have also provided several of our departmental Christmas parties, again no detail missed and their staff is wonderful. They go above and beyond to make our company events the best and a wonderful experience for all! They also provide the game and promos for our annual United Way events, we could not do these without them!
