Checked this place out last week. Great coffee, perfect aesthetic, and packed out. Coffee My wife got a flavored latte. It had a unique taste and wasn't overly syrupy sweet. She would get it again. I got drip coffee - 50/50 light/dark blend. It was good. I didn't finish my 12oz but I made a solid dent which is telling of a good cup of java. Aesthetic This is the old-school coffee spots you'd see in the 90's - plenty of space, chill vibe and people chatting or working. Crowd The place was packed. There were only 1-2 seats available on a Saturday morning. However, there were 1-2 tables available outside. This was a minor drawback but I threw on the airpods and was able to zone out. Went here on the way to the Huntington library. I ordered the seasonal winter mocha and my boyfriend a chai tea latte. I didn't love my latte I felt that I couldn't taste the coffee under the half and half which is the milk that it comes with. My boyfriend liked his chai but prefers it a bit more strong. I drove out from LA to this area to volunteer for my daughters field trip at Huntington Library and arrived an hour early so I thought of yelping out some great coffee shops and this place was suggested... thank goodness! This place is awesome. Vibe was great. Coffee was terrific. I tried their specialty drink called Vienna latte made with honey and cinnamon and sooooooo good! Tried out a Russian flatbread filled with dill and cheese that I still can't get over with! So uniquely good! All the staff are so helpful, friendly and so cool! This is a great spot to study and get some work done. If I lived closer, I would definitely be there all the time! Food/Drink: Although I'm not much of a coffee person, I have ordered the lavender lattes almost every time I've come here and it's delicious. If you like ube, I definitely recommend trying the purple cake. I believe it's a purple sweet potato cake with fresh coconut shreds inside. It's my absolute favorite thing there. The cake is super moist, does not appear to be artificially colored, and isn't too sweet. It's more of a dense loaf, than it is a bread. If it gives you any idea how much I like it, my friends and I used to drive 20-30 minutes just to get a slice of it. Also, a nice little trick. Jameson Brown sells they're day old pastries for a heavily reduced price. I have bought the purple cake at the discount, but honestly it's much better fresh (more moist) than a day old. read more

The interior is very pretty and it's very big and rusticy industrial. We had the mayan mocha because we wanted to try a "spicy" coffee and it was better than i expected. It tastes like spices but not heat so you take a sip and you feel little sensation in your throat but it's not like drinking a hot sauce packet with espresso lol so don't worry. So glad I found out about Jameson after my friend suggested that a group of us meet up at Jameson Brown for some coffee and tea. I've always been a tea/boba fan, but my tastes are slowly changing to include more coffee, latte type drinks. Jameson is a very unassuming coffee shop located on Allen. You can drive right past it without even know there's a very good coffee shop in the near vicinity. I think that's what makes Jameson so special - even with all the positive reviews and customer loyalty, it still feels like you're walking into a very private, very comfy, very tightly-knit coffee shop where the baristas are your friends and everybody has the similar "we're all in this together" mindset. Maybe it's just me, but I felt right at home! Jameson is located inside a brick-walled type building. I think I had thought it was an Italian market upon passing by at first. There isn't a parking lot for Jameson, but there's plenty of street parking (try Locust St.). Upon walking in, you're greeted by a very open and airy space where there are coffee products and beans in huge barrels by one wall, syrups and whatnot by another, and the ordering area near the front. Tables, chairs, and benches are all spread out within the coffeeshop. It's fairly big (with people coming in and out), so finding a spot shouldn't be hard. They also have some tables and chairs on the outside as well. My friends all ordered different drinks. One of them had a custom-made almond tea that the barista had crafted for her. It tasted very healthy and a bit too flavorless for me, but I did enjoy the simplicity of the drink. My other friends (all of whom are very big coffee fans) ordered various drinks (coffee, iced vanilla latte) and all of them had nothing but good things to say about what they tried. I decided to try the popular lavender vanilla breve. Many of the reviewers claimed this was a favorite - really glad I gave it a try. The price was around $4-$5 and it's only offered in a hot 12 oz cup that cannot be substituted. I was a little scared that it might be too fragrant, but it was the perfect blend of fragrant, earthy mixed in with the coffee taste I normally expect from a latte. The lavender was not too overwhelming, and the vanilla gave the drink a sweetness that most lattes don't normally have. No bitter coffee taste either, and I found myself finishing the drink slowly as I sat and chatted with my friends. tl;dr - One of the drawbacks is that this place does close fairly early. Even though it's fairly popular, it wasn't too crowded on a Friday afternoon. I feel like mornings can get super busy though. The baristas and workers were all super friendly and nice. They have various pastries if you want to get something sweet. Definitely will be returning to try something else, or if I ever want to just sit at a coffee shop and study. read more

This morning I decided to try a new cafe and stumbled upon Jameson Brown. After deliberating over their specialty drinks, I went for the iced Vienna Latte with almond milk and was thoroughly satisfied. The Vienna was a step up from a typical latte and had just the right amount of sweetness. A lot of iced drinks tend to taste watery but Jameson Brown has got it down to a science. I stopped by on a weekend morning and it was pretty busy. The line gets long but their coffee and pastries are so freaking delicious. They have light, medium, dark roast options with a variety of unique lattes. I'm not too picky about coffee so really like anything. I ordered a cranberry scone and a coffee cake with the coffees. One of my go to spots in Pas. I always find myself wanting to come back here. It's more of a work spot than a chill with friends since most people come here to work remotely. I also work remotely some and love this place for that. The coffee is good and reliable. I love trying out their stuff! I have come a few times to check out their specialty lattes and their pastries and I am so impressed every time! So far my favorites are the Lavender Vanilla Breve and the Cardamom Rose Latte. As for the pastries, I love the Blueberry Scone and Cheddar Bacon Biscuit. Met a friend for a catch-up coffee and found this place a gem. The coffee was good and the ambiance excellent for chatting.

I live within walking distance from Jameson Brown, though there is a specific reason why I choose to drive to go to another coffee shop that is further away. The last three times I've been here they have forgotten/lost my order ticket. This means that while everyone who ordered after me has received their drinks and left (sometimes 10+ people), I'm left standing there while they clean their stations and chit-chat in their 'downtime.' All three times I've made eye contact with employees, but they hadn't stopped to ask if I needed help with anything or why I was standing there. This made what would have been a 5 minute trip take 20 minutes. At best they need to devise a new system of communicating drink orders to their baristas. However, customer service would mean checking up on that lonely customer who is standing there when every person who ordered already got their drink. read more

Easily my new favorite coffee shop in town! The menu offers a wide variety of delicious coffees and pastries, my personal favorites are the coconut breve and the (turkey & cheese) croissant. One of my favorite go to study spots! This hole in the wall coffee shop in located on the corner of a residential area. It has a "warehouse" type of feel, in a brick building with lots of open space. They have great coffee and lattes, with seasonal specials. So many people come for to go coffee - they have so many different types of coffee beans! It's usually at least half packed with people doing work or catching up over coffee. My favorite here is their seasonal special - cardamom rose latte. The only downside is that it only comes in one size (I'm always tempted to order a 24oz). Their lavender vanilla breve is also a great one (but it only comes in hot, another downside, for me at least). There's always specialty pastries in the front good for some sweet or savory munchies. I came here around 9 AM to do some work. They have a lot of tables/seating which is a plus. There was a long line of customers, but it went fast. I ordered iced tea and chocolate croissant. Their tea is freshly brewed, which I appreciated! And their pastry was delicious as well. No wifi so I used my phone's hotspot. There was street parking available. It was quiet in the early morning and got a louder later on. Good place to have a chat, but maybe not ideal if you need peace and quiet to focus. read more

I'm not a coffee person, but Jameson Brown definitely gets it right. The lavender breve is pretty darn good... this is coming from somebody who generally dislikes lavender, jasmine, or any of those flowery ingredients in their coffee and tea. I'd also recommend the "Snowball," which consists of coconut and white chocolate. This drink has a bit of a sweeter touch, but it's still much more balanced and less saccharine when compared to, say, a Starbucks espresso. On the negative side, I was a bit disappointed with the baked goods here. I've had a few of the pastries on display, from the salted caramel coffee cake to the almond croissant, and in my opinion none of them are worth ordering. Still, this is a solid coffee spot with a pleasant vibe and good service, so don't pass it up! The entrance is somewhat hidden in plain sight (I lived down the street for three years before realizing this place exists), so just look for the big brick corner near the self-storage facility to find it. read more

(YC2017, 80/100) I love this place. It's probably one of my favorite coffee shops in the area due to it's friendly service, great drinks, and comfy seating. It's location is on the corner of a not so busy area, but unfortunately, it's a hot spot for coffee shop goers so it's often pretty busy/full. They have wifi and you'll often see the the folks in here studying on their comfy sofa seats (and several other tables). The ambiance here is really hipstery with the brick walls and it has a large open interior concept. The drinks are so delicious here. They roast their own beans, which you'll see in the Donkey Kong barrels. I love their regular Latte, the Lavender Breve Latte, and the Mayan Mocha. The baristas will make recommendations to you if you're conflicted. The breve is a little on the heavier side and the Mayan mocha has some spice to it, both expected. Definitely recommend checking this shop out. It's unlike any of the other shops I've been to, and you will not leave disappointed. :) read more

I got the lavender vanilla breve latte and it lived up to my expectations. Creamy, frothy, with lovely hints of lavender. My mom got their drip coffee medium roast from Colombia. (pro tip: if you dine-in, you can get a free refill!!). It's not terribly noisy and not too dark. Plenty of tables but they were mostly occupied on a Tuesday at 2pm, which imo is a good sign that the coffee is good + it's a great place to be productive. They also have a large selection of pastries but being too full to eat one means I have another reason to come back. Parking is easily found on locust street for those who would like to stay longer to get work done and there's 30 min street parking nearby the storefront for those grabbing it to-go. Was in the Pasadena on a weekday to run some errands. Had about an hour to kill so I decide to look for a coffee shop to sit back and relax. Found out about Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters on Yelp and decided to take a brisk walk little past Colorado to get a cup of coffee. While this is a local and Yelp favorite in the area, I was surprise that it was located inside a brick-wall building with no flashy signage whatsoever. I could've drove by it a million of times and would not have noticed this gem if it was not for Yelp. There were a huge crowd at the coffee shop when I stopped by at 8:30am. There are some that are studying, doing work on their laptops or even collaborative working breakfast. I lined up behind some people and tried to decide if I wanted to order a regular latte or their signature Lavender Vanilla Breve. I was reluctant to order the Lavender Vanilla Breve because I fear that it might be too sweet, but the barista of Jameson Brown got the flavoring just right. There is a hint of lavender and the drink was absolutely comforting. Definitely adding Jameson Brown to my list of coffee spots. It is unfortunate that I do not live/work in this area and they are not open for business on Sundays, or I will definitely become one of their regulars.
