I do not enjoy coming to this place as the volume is always way too loud. I spoke with multiple patrons as well as the staff and they were all in agreement that this place is too loud. Apparently the owner won't hear any of the complaints (no pun intended). I feel most concerned for the people working here having to deal with the unsafe sound decibels they are exposed to for hours on end and having to raise their voices all the time to be heard since the volume is so loud. I downloaded an app to read the decibel level and it was averaging at 90 decibels. "Experts recommend keeping sound levels at somewhere between 60 and 85 decibels to minimize the damage your ears are exposed to. If you are listening to music at around 100 decibels, restrict your usage to within 15 mins." I've e-mailed this issue directly on their website as well. This review I am posting was made during Sunday Football. I read a previous review that also commented on the volume level being too high and this was the response from Sam C. of Business Customer Service - "On game days we strive for a fun, vibrant environment. I hope you give us another chance on a quieter day." I've been here multiple times after the change from Finn Mcools to Jameson's and have been annoyed by the sound volume every time. I've been here several times and usually have enjoyed myself, however the past 2 times I've been the bouncers have been overly rude and aggressive for no reason - one accused my friend of having an outside drink and grabbed her arm way too roughly. Also the brown haired woman with the bold red lipstick is constantly on a power trip - accusing me of having a fake passport (?) and threatening my friend upon entry for literally no reason. No idea what the food, drink, or service is like, but this place apparently turned from a bar into a nightclub on Saturday night and RIP to anyone trying to sleep within a 1/4 mile radius at least. Not trying to be the noise police, but even with white noise working to drown it out, the bass was still loud enough to keep us up most the night. Feel sorry for the locals and tourists who are subjected to this on the regular. Completely unacceptable. read more

I'm revising my earlier review. The management learned from covid shutdowns and have improved the environment significantly. The food is decent. The waitstaff is hard working. The music isn't ear split-tingly loud anymore and the taps have improved. All in all, a significant improvement in the right direction. Congrats! read more

All you can eat Taco Tuesday for $10.99 feels like a hustle, because to get all the tacos you can eat, you have to wait long periods of time for each two tacos they bring to your table. Everyone in our group is disappointed with their Taco Tuesday at Jameson's experience because its obvious they want to slow you down, and not serve all you can truly eat. Okay, I'm really not into dishonesty. To me, cheating people is high up on the list of reasons not to patronize a business. Jameson's put up a big sign board in front of their door saying $5 Irish Coffee rainy day deal. I happened to be walking by and it was a rainy day so I stopped in. The bartender confirmed the deal and brought me the Irish Coffee saying, "That'll be $7." I thought maybe I heard wrong and asked about the price. He said, "You know, with tax." (Jameson's is charging 40% tax?!) I said that didn't seem right. Suddenly the price changed to $6.50. I said, "That's pretty far from $5," meaning how do you expect me to believe you can mark up a $5 offer that much for "tax"? The bartender countered with "I don't make the prices." After a number of great experiences, today's was a total flip. Let me be sure to still commend the waitresses here, as each time I have come even with a large group, they have always been great. Today my friend saw cockroaches in the men's bathroom. The food was sub par, lettuce old. I can dismiss a lot when there have been positive past experiences. But! The biggest miss of the afternoon- we were told by a staff member named Charlie we would need to leave our table for the Dj to set up. Charlie could offer no other table or solutions for us mid meal, mid second quarter. We asked for a manager and he just stood at the table in front of the game, telling us we needed to move. We decided to just pay the bill and find another place. Out of all the fake Irish bars, I suggest to skip this one. read more

I would rate them zero stars. I've been all over the world to 14 different countries in and out of the military and never dealt with such poor service. They singled me out because Mike the manager didn't think my ID was real and then even after I showed my face and told him my age, he still wanted me to give my bday which would have been ok but they didn't ask anyone else to do that. I have a full beard. I look at least 25 bare minimum. Then inside when I was with my friend. When we asked for our checks because we paid separately. They brought both of them but wouldn't give me my card until like 20 min later even though they brought hers. They were laughing and just talking to other people at the bar even after I asked multiple times for my card. The bar tenders gave me attitude after Mike said something to them about me. My friend said she would never come back and was sorry they treated me like that as well. I normally tip really well and didn't even have an attitude when asking for my card. Piss pour place service was super slow. They asked everybody if they needed a drink all the way up until it got to me then they went to the other side of the bar. So I'll never go back. read more

The best fish n' chips!!! Great bar for watching sports, eating, drinking, & live music!

I recently met up with a friend at this bar for a couple of drinks. At first, I liked the ambiance, but things changed as soon as I ordered. I only drink wine, Chardonnay to be exact. There was only one choice of Chardonnay and it tasted like the cheapest, rot gut wine that is sure to give you heartburn. I slowly sipped at ot while my friend drank 3 drinks of other types. Also, there was a woman that was so loud and intoxicated that it was hard to carry on a conversation with my friend. I am one and done, this bar was not at all what I expected. read more

Went to this pub as my second option around 11 after traveling a long day and needed food, ordered brisket and some drinks. Upon arriving our bartender had blatantly talked crap about us but we held our tongues. The brisket was decent but fatty. Basically, we got our bill and it was $40.00 over charged. We went straight to the manager and he fixed it. The bartender told us it was BOGO but charged us for each individual drink. Our original bill was $80 and it got reduced to $56.. Weird. I went here on Tuesday with my son. Our waitress seemed to be in a very bad place, looking unkempt and was broody in her attitude. When she left, my son asked me why she was so angry and I explained to him that things are very difficult for people right now. After I paid the bill, leaving a very large tip, because I felt bad for her, my son said to her, "it'll be okay." The waitress barked at him in sharp tone, "excuse me?" and starred at him with disdain. He froze, so to diffuse the tension, I interjected lightheartedly that he didn't mean anything by it, he was just trying to cheer you (her) up. She then told us it's none of our business and walked away. It was awkward, unwarranted, and way out of line. We had very little interaction with her during our time there and were upbeat and friendly when we did. I called later that evening to speak with a manager, the person who answered took my info, but 6 days later I still have not received a call back. My son was very startled by the altercation and his mom upset, so I wanted to bring it to someone's attention that one of their waitresses was obviously having a rough go of it and others are bearing the brunt so that it can be addressed before it escalates or is done to someone much less patient and understanding. I noticed that the top review on yelp is also regarding an ill-mannered waitress being abusive toward a customer. It's a different waitress, ours had jet black hair, which tells me this is a systemic problem that reflects a poor and stressful work environment. Not receiving a call back from a manger shows me a lack of concern overall. Employees' miserable attitudes and being rude to customers in my experience is the result of mismanagement and mistreatment. I genuinely hope the best for these girls, and empathize with their struggles, but this behavior is inexcusable and serious adjustments need to be made. I have not encountered such an issue anywhere else during these fragile times. read more

Had a bad experience here last year and decided to give this place another try to only be upset again. I decided to visit last Wednesday night to have drinks and watch the Bulls-Lakers game with my girlfriend. My girl ordered a marg w/ tahin rim and I ordered a spicy mezcal marg. The server brought our drinks and my girl drink was correct but I ended getting a regular margarita. When I brought this to the servers attention she told me she would get it right the next round of drinks I order and she walked away. I took a sip of the drink she had brought and realized I didn't like it and I wanted to get the correct drink I ordered. I let the server know that I did not want the drinks and I reminded her again of the drink I had ordered and her reply to me was "U need to tell me this in advance". Now me working service industry for almost 13 years, I know that this is not an acceptable response to make to a guest and I was very appalled. She eventually brought my correct drink and everything was pretty cool until it was time to close out my check. When trying to process my card using the toast system, the server seemed to not know what she was doing and was struggling to get it to work and proceeded to ask me if I have a different card to which I replied "no that is the card I have money on and that's the one I want to use". I nicely asked her if I can use her toast and do it myself as I use the toast system myself and am very familiar with it. She handed it to me and I was (magically) able to process my card with no problems. I try to like this place but they keep giving me reasons not to smh, please get it together. read more

Jameson's Pub (Santa Monica) is locally famous for Prime Rib preparations, with an excellent Prime Rib chili on their standing menu. But the chili offered now came with beans without a single cube of prime rib. I pointed this out to the manager, who pointed triumphantly to a lone 'shroom quarter. I pointed out the deficit. He then picked a fight trying to provide a verbal beef rather than sustenance. He tried to accuse me of being hard to please and claimed I had already returned two orders, when the first order screw up and this order that I now held in my hand had been 100% the Pub's fault. He then made a scene when I had been polite, reasonably tolerant of their incompetence, yet factual about my experience. Like someone's slighted lover, he then said he couldn't make me happy, refused service, handed back my bank card, and demanded I leave, making a scene in front of the Cam public eye in a way that seemed designed to shame, not apologize. He mentioned he had the right to refuse service for any reason or no reason, but as we know, in California and federal litigation, that isn't always clear. read more

I have been here a few times and each time the food was mediocre, at best. I love a good Irish Pub, but the food is barely edible. I haven't been back, even though it is just a block from my place. It has lots of TV's for watching sports which is great, but I'll go to an establishment that has great food and the owner cares about the neighborhood. It's closing time and tonight again I can't sleep, like last night and the night before, bc the drunks roll out hollering, yelling, getting into fights, generally behaving like disgusting pigs. The owner/management does NOTHING to curtail the girl fights, cars honking and violence that occurs every week. Living close by makes living off Main Street miserable. read more

I was already planning to post about the horrible service here. But now that I've woken up with food poisoning I'm more concrrned about that. Of the people working there last night only 3 were actually doing their job. I think our servers name was Sean. He was trying to do his job but when he would go put in a drink order, the guy working the bar would ignore him. Felt bad for Sean at first but it's a domino effect so it sucked getting everything late. Also they served our drinks to the table next to us. The people next to us were walking around with them asking whose they were. Then I asked if they could pour me a new one and it took like 25 minutes cause when sean asked the guy at the bar i saw the guy roll his eyes then just goof off and do nothing. It wasn't until Sean asked one of the girls (person no. 2 of 3 doing their job) to make it since that guy doesn't want to. Also, the short waitress was extremely rude. She was serving the table next to us and the guys there were complaining cause she kept stroking their arms when she'd check on them. When Sean went on his break he said that waitress has your card so let her know if you need anything. When my friend asked if he could order a drink she said yes and turned and walked away so swiftly....like wth he was about to put in a drink order. More concerning, i woke up early thus morning with vomiting diarrhea and a fever. I had 3 fish tacos yesterday night aside from my protein shake in the morning. So it was the fish tacos. Maybe they did it on purpose because i asked them to repour my beer. I wasnt going to tip because it was such a horrible experience but i felt bad that sean was trying so i just left him 5 bucks which is barely over 10%. I used to love going here because the bartenders are cool and the food is good. However after going there the past few weeks I've witnessed people being tossed around by the security staff including myself. A group of friends and I are no longer going here because of this. I worked in security for almost ten years and rarely had to put my hands on someone. It's possible to remove people from the the bar without brut force these guys are a bunch of bullies. They're supposed to protect the patrons, instead you're more likely to be hurt by one of these overzealous security staff members than anyone who comes to the bar. Just go someplace else because they don't seem care about your safety or wellbeing. read more

Newish whiskey house in SM. Great vibe, very friendly service and a damn good happy hour. My wife and I used to drink Jameson pickle backs so we came in here to check it out. 2 for 1 pickle backs! Pickle juice was SO good. Got a side of steak fries that we're delicious as well. Would definitely be back and absolutely recommend. read more

After a day at the beach, me and Vic were very hungry. Walking up and down Main Street, our options were surprisingly little. We decided to give this place a try. Always a great spot for drinks but both of us really liked our sandwiches, even though the portobello should have been one big one instead of strips, what really made it great was the service!! This is our go to after work spot. The happy hour is fine but wish they had happy hour food specials to go along with it. It's nice if you and whoever you are with just split their 2 for 1 "special" that way your drink doesn't just sit around and get cold. From my experience the staff is attentive and great. The space is nice and open with lots of windows and good seating options. If your looking for a low key vibe after work this is it until it starts to get packed later in the night. This place wasn't really my scene and the band was insanely loud for how small the bar was I couldn't even hear myself think, but all in all the bartenders were amazing with making sure they serviced everyone (and it was packed) they were friendly attentive and just damn right chill.
