    I/2 pound burger

I had the bacon mushroom Swiss burger, sorry for the late picture, this is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, good drinks and great service, my only complaint is I did not care for the provolone sticks

Jamison's is a cool spot on West Liberty Ave. Casual, neighborhood type bar with delicious burgers & comfort eats....plus tons of local beers & spirits for cocktails!

Another visit to a place I follow on Facebook. I walked inside & thought it was a smoking bar due to the smell. Not the case, guess was just a tad musty smell. The bartender was friendly, it's a neighborhood bar so assuming a lot of locals to attend to. We had the pesto goat cheese dip that was very good. The pitas were cooked a little well done but the dip had good flavor. Our burger was too well done, we asked for medium rare. Bun was great, half pound burger was good, not the best I've had but good. Hair pound burger is great for sharing. We happened to be there at shift change. The new bartender acknowledged us when she put her register in. A few minutes later a woman comes from a door with a cash bag. She doesn't acknowledge, say hi or even smile at the bartenders as she goes behind the bar. This really turned me off. I could feel the unwelcome body language from her to the bartenders. She opened the drawer the bartender just put in there & just started funneling cash around without saying anything to the girl coming on shift. Sorry but observing this just really turned me off as a new customer.

    Basi House Burger

As far as local bars go this is an absolute classic local with great food and atmosphere. The staff are friendly and get the drinks out as fast as could be reasonably expected regardless of the crowd size. They have a number of TVs which means it's a great spot to watch whatever game you might be following though I'm pretty certain local teams will get preference. The Basi House Burger was recommended by a friend so that's what was ordered. It did not disappoint! What's a Basi burger I hear you ask? According to the menu Basi is "uncured Kielbasa made fresh by our local butcher made specifically for us". An awesome idea that results in one of the best burgers I've had anywhere. I'm throwing this place on the list for when guests visit from out of town. It may not be fancy but it's a great night out with friends and the quality and value are on point. Enjoy!

This place is awesome, one of the best burgers anywhere, and I'm a burger lover. Absolute 5 star burger!! I had the 2019 Pittsburgh Burger Bash winning burger, the Stout and Straw burger. A delicious toasted Brioche bun, the burger was a perfect medium, fall apart, juicy, perfect! Toppings were Beer cheese, chunked slab bacon, onion straws, mushrooms, and a Horseradish BBQ sauce. Everything works together perfectly, back to the burger though, sooooo good!! 5 star burger, awesome! Side of perfect fries, dipped in Ranch dressing. This place is awesome!

Attended the Burger Bash event last weekend and tried lots of burgers. This burger probably had a lot of potential but it wasn't served fresh and hot and therefore the bun had become a little soggy, burger was cold, etc. however, we understand the nature of the event and serving a hot burger wasn't always possible. We didn't particularly enjoy it but would go to the actual restaurant and give it a try!

Tuesday nights are a great deal! During happy, you get 3 large wings free with your choice of sauce (buffalo Parmesan have a perfect heat to them) with every beer purchase. The beer choices aren't bad either, as there was an ok selection of draft beers. After happy hour, wings are $0.40 each.

Jamison's on West Liberty is a Hidden Dormont gem!

Five stars for the price. Great local bar that serves better than regular bar food with different specials every nite. Bacon sticks are a must! We went on Tuesday nite for free wing nite. They currently offer 3 free wings per beer from 6-8 pm Tuesdays. We had the afterburner, garlic parm, burn your face off and honey jalapeño flavors to share with our beers. They were all tasty but could have used some extra hot sauce. The wings are prepped brined and crispy- no complaints here. The bacon sticks are a crave worthy reason to return on Monday nite bacon nites--super delicious. It's not a romantic date place, but we can add this to our list of Pens game bars to go to with great food and atmosphere. 5.22.18: went back with my friend. Ordered Jamison's pulled pork fries and split a proper order of wings.Pulled pork fries eats like a meal. Both very good. Added pics to review. Will eventually go back to target their hamburgers. Can't wait. :)

Great spot for local food & they have an awesome happy hour. Bartenders are kind and helpful; and the establishment is clean. They also have daily specials.

"...good times" may be Jamison's slogan, but they're also about good, good food, and as a non-drinker, unless a bar has food, I ain't interested. Jamison's has been around too long for me to remember when they came about yet I didn't know that dinner could be had here despite zipping past it a thousand times over the years, often forgetting it existed. Last night, after a quirk in our schedules caused us to meet unexpectedly on the way home, Kay and I decided to give this low-key bar & grill a shot. Jamison's describes their signature Bacon Stix as "life changing," and while I might not concur completely, they were amply tasty. Drizzled with an inky balsamic glaze, each "stick" (2 to an order) is merely a prodigiously thick cut of fatty, salty bacon that makes ye want to lift pints after eatin' 'em. Bacon Stix can be had on pizza, burgers, and assorted sandwiches, and man, does Jamison's worship bacon. Dumbbells, our second appetizer, are morsels of chicken breast wrapped in bacon (what else?) and skewered with a toothpick to make them look like weight-room equipment. The lard and salt of the bacon were successfully imparted into each chunk of poultry, which we dipped into a cupful of ranch dressing for maximum enjoyment. As hip-hop, classic rock, pop, and honky-tonk tunes wafted through the gloomy, sedate environs, I challenged Steak Mountain. A 12 ounce New York Strip steak (I always have my steaks and burgers cooked medium-rare) atop a pile of beer-battered fries, mozzarella, and gravy, Steak Mountain is a test of wills. The Canadians call it "poutine" and use cheese curds. Us yanks use mozzarella with that gravy and those spuds and call them "disco fries." Regardless, this was a diner-worthy dinner, the gravy savory, the fries crisp, the cheese oozing and stretching, that slab of succulent, charred beef with rose-colored insides bleeding like Abdullah The Butcher. Also munched on prior to the main event was a Wedge Salad featuring bacon bits (again with the bacon!), diced tomatoes, blue cheese, a vinaigrette, and the rest of that ranch dressing I didn't use. Iceberg lettuce tends to get a bad rap from foodies for reasons I don't understand (too commonplace?), but I like having a salad like this every so often. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the plating was as ornate as an ice cream sundae, and the delectable garnishes did more than decorate. The service was capable, and the clientele was well-behaved. I could see myself eating here regularly without worrying about getting a stool broken over my back. A rowdy dive bar this isn't. Rather, it's a comfortable, quiet neighborhood watering hole where people go to escape from toxic co-workers and a day's worth of on-the-clock bullshit.

Crab cakes. Took 30 minutes, though server only had 5 people.

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for

Unfortunately that's were the good ends. First and always foremost, how was the food? An absolutely mess. Impossible to enjoy bc the sandwich falls apart immediately, simply can not pick up without losing everything inside, and greasy as all get out. I should have expected this to an extent, but a nearly $20 grilled cheese at a place that "specializes" in them, I would hope could do better than this. Service was very, very slow despite many open seats. The part that probably sent it over the top was the plate runner constantly spilling the tomato soups everytime they brought out someone's meal. Mine dripped all of the ground as he sat it down, my wife's got on her tray so the bread was just mushy on the bottom, and we saw it constantly as he walked by delivering others. Cool idea, cool location, but the rest was just bad.

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.
