Our office complex invited us out to this food truck one Friday afternoon. Initially I was going to pass on it but when a coworker who already went said that they had some specials like Bourbon Chicken, I thought hard about it and changed my mind. I hadn't had that in years and I was curious to see what their version would taste like. When I got to the truck they weren't busy at all. I walked up to the truck and ordered. To my surprise, I had the food in my hands in less than 5 minutes while I was dancing to their music being played in the truck. Service was on point. It came with a lot of jasmine rice, broccoli, carrots, and onions. While the food was delicious I personally felt that the chicken to veggie ratio was off some. I had more forkfuls of veggies over the chicken. I still ate it all because I was hungry. I'd check them out if they're in my hood again.

I hate to leave a review like this on a food truck since I love them but our food wasn't very good. Maybe they were having an off night. Who knows? When we looked at the menu it looked right up our alley so we ordered a few things. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Drunken Noodles, and the Yellow Curry with Chicken. Chicken Pad Thai: I was one of the odds Pad Thais I had ever had. The favor was unlike any I had had. It was very oddly sweet. I was also so wet (look at the pictures). I'm never someone who dislikes extra saucy but when the sauce it so sweet and there is so much of it it just over powered everything. Also the chicken is dark meat which my wife wasn't a fan of but I don't mind. The positive it was a large serving. Beef Drunken Noodles: Again the sauce on this we pretty sweet and I asked for it to be spicy. They still though was better then the Pad Thai and I didn't main how wet this dish was as much. My biggest issue was the beef. It was so tough. I haven't had beef this tough in a long time. I honestly can't remember the last time. So maybe stay away from the beef unless you're looking to get a jaw work out. Like the Pad Thai it was a large serving size so if you like it you at least will not go hungry. Yellow Curry with Chicken. The curry had less flavor then most. Maybe it had been watered down but IDK. This dish also had a lot more dark meat chicken then the Pad Thai had as this was the dish Ashley was looking forward too most. Beside that wasn't the best Yellow Curry I have had but and would probably have to go in the bottom tier. Again, maybe they were having an off night. If I order from them again I would probably lean toward their Chinese dishes and hope it's better then the Thai ones.

It took 20 minutes to make the most underwhelming beef and broccoli I've ever had. The broccoli was dry as shit and the meat was greasy as hell. Half of the rice was DRENCHED in sauce and was pretty much mush. And to top it all off all of the sauce ended up outside the box and pooled into the bag leaking everywhere. Overall overpriced as heck and not worth it.

I ordered the pad thai and basil fried rice. The pad thai was bad. Like a lot of bad pad thai, it's extremely oily without any fragrance and has this homogenous color of dark brown muck. They try to plate this by evenly spreading the meager portions of bean sprouts and green onion over the top, but once you start eating it, it's obvious. The noodles are dry. The green onions are cut relatively large, but there's not much of it. I still ate it of course. The small portion of nut and egg also make them not much of a factor. Most of your bites of this will be either just noodle or noodle and the meat. There's no cilantro, pepper, carrot, or anything else that would help. My favorite pad thai in town so far is probably from Thai Orchid on Beach Blvd and Kernan. The basil fried rice fared slightly better, largely due to the obvious inclusion of basil, but also onion, carrots, and broccoli. This is not to say that a dish has to have a ton of veggies to be good, but rather that veggies with a large presence like broccoli are a good counter-weight to the bland oiliness of these entrees. Also, I'd like to note that everything is chopped very large. This is normal for the broccoli and not too uncommon for the oversized carrot slices. But the BBQ pork that I chose are also in giant cubes, which is quite unusual for fried rice. Some of the meat cubes are extremely dry. The egg isn't distributed with any consistency either. Most of the plate has no egg at all, which you can tell just from my pic, then you'll randomly see a big chunk that's like 1/4 of an egg. Oh yeah, I also ordered both dishes at 4 star spiciness. But the basil fried rice wasn't spicy at all. I suppose the pad thai could be considered American 4 stars (maybe Thai 2 1/2 star). But the basil fried rice is like 1 star spicy. Basically a scam. Anyways, talking about this review instead of scovilles now, this is barely 3 stars. If I had only ordered the pad thai, this would be a 2 star review. Regardless, you'll never see me here again.

I normally love food trucks and maybe this was just an off night but I wasn't very impressed with Jammas Jax. Nothing I ate was really worth the calories. It was almost like they ran out of flavor for all of their dishes. The pad Thai was bland and oily and the other two dishes were just lacking. I don't have too much to say about this place as I only ate one or two bites of my food before throwing it away. I probably won't be back but if I do and have a better experience I will update my review accordingly.

In my neighborhood we have food truck nights about once a week. This was the first time i decided to give it a try. I LOVE asian food, i'm also pregnant and didn't feel good, definitely not well enough to cook. We ordered chicken teriyaki, the chicken pad thai, and fried rice... once we got home to eat I was instantly let down by the portion sizes.. they were so small I wouldn't even have left overs.. for 3 things we spent 60 dollars.. that's INSANE.. in my opinion it wasn't even edible.. the sauce was great but the chicken alone looked rancid, even my husband who eats EVERYTHING wouldn't eat this. The rice was okay, not much flavor but still didn't eat it because of the chicken and I didn't want to risk anyone in my family getting sick. I ended up taking all the food back to the truck, the employee was very kind.. the owner didn't want to interact with me much.. The interaction was nice, they understood and gave me my money back.. but kept my tip.. which i'm okay with we did just waste food and their time. The only reason i'm giving them a 2 star is because they were kind. they have been getting the same repetitive comments for years and nothing seems to change.. I definitely would not waste my money on this place, and maybe save yourself the food poisioning

I visited Jammas Jax for the first time when they were at Hemming Plaza on Halloween for lunchtime. The menu includes curries, noodles and a few other things, but I chose the Drunken Noodles listed as the special, which came with a can drink for $10.99. The chicken was good, the flavor was good, and there was plenty. But, for $11 I can get better at some other places and for $7 I can get equally good at plenty of places. It was good enough, but wouldn't keep me returning at the price without being something I can't easily get other places.

I really really wanted to like this truck. I could happily eat some version of Asian cuisine on the daily...and this truck had all the right moves. Ultimately could not deliver. The person taking orders wasn't personable at all...she never cracked a smile and I'm not even sure she said a word to us while we ordered. Strike one. We ordered one Sweet & Sour Chicken with white rice and one Pad Thai with Chicken. It came really fast. Plus one. First, the rice was...tasteless so we mixed it with the sweet&sour...marginally better. The pad Thai was super dry and the chicken tasted like styrofoam. Strike out.

Really great food truck! Just had my meal. Tasty, large portions and a medley of flavors. We ordered the Drunken Noodles & also Pad Thai; chose chicken as the protein for both. This is on par with the excellent Fusion food truck but I dare say bigger portions for Jammas Jax. We also ordered the Crab Rangoon and Spring Rolls. The Spring Rolls were fine but the Crab Rangoons were excellent; stuffed and flavorful. The very appropriately cooked chicken in the entrees hints of smoky flavor. The service was informed, courteous and quick. I will absolutely be patronizing this food truck again, recommend it without hesitation and look forward to its return!

Chicken Teriyaki with Steamed Vegetables and Plain White Rice

I first tried the Jammas Jax at the Wine and Trucks event at the Beach. They have the most affordable meals compared to the other food trucks, so we ordered the meal of the day which was Chicken Teriyaki with rice and vegetables. The portion was enough for two and it was cooked perfectly! The chicken was delicious and we only paid $10.99. Second time we saw them was at the Light Up the Food Trucks at the Southside. I ordered their Chicken Green Curry. We took it home to eat because it was raining so hard. So when we got home and about to take pictures (but of course!) of our dinner (the other meal was from another food truck), the curry does not look appetizing at all! We thought, we should've ordered the chicken teriyaki like the last time! But I was greatly mistaken! It was scrumptious and vey tasty! Creamy but not too thick, a little bit sweet and spicy! But, I would've wanted the onions to be sautéed more coz they were a bit raw, and I don't like raw onions! Overall, if you are craving for good Asian dishes and affordable meals then look no further! Just go and find Jammas Jax!

I really enjoyed the Lomein and Pad Thai that was ordered. It was very flavorful and presented well. Everything was hot and fresh. I will definitely be back.

A Delicious Experience at Modu Ramen!…read more We recently had the pleasure of dining at Modu Ramen on Baymeadows Road, and what a wonderful experience from beginning to end! One of the highlights of our visit was getting to meet Chef Kim, who came out personally to speak with us and walk us through the menu. He took the time to explain the different dishes, flavors, and ingredients, which made the experience feel so much more personal. You can truly feel the passion he has for what he creates. ‍ And a big shoutout to Christian, who took such great care of us throughout our meal. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It made us feel right at home. We started with the Vegetable Gyoza and Corn Croquettes -- both were delicious and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For ramen, we had several different bowls so we could experience a little bit of everything: Beef Bulgogi Ramen -- tender beef bulgogi with chicken broth, a soft egg, Naruto, and bok choy. One thing I really appreciated is that if you don't eat pork, you can substitute the broth, making it easier to find something that works for your preferences. Curry Tonkotsu Ramen -- rich, flavorful curry broth with chicken, mushrooms, and corn. So comforting and packed with flavor! Vegetable Curry Ramen -- a delicious option for veggie lovers, with that wonderful curry flavor and plenty of satisfying ingredients. Of course, we couldn't stop at the food! Mango Sake -- fruity, refreshing, and such a fun pairing with the meal. Butterscotch Latte -- sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious. A perfect little treat alongside dinner. And then came dessert... and this was definitely something special! Mango Bingsu -- light, refreshing, and full of mango flavor. Tiramisu Bingsu -- such a fun twist on traditional tiramisu! Creamy, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the meal. What I loved most about Modu Ramen was that it wasn't just about having a good bowl of ramen. It was the whole experience -- the welcoming atmosphere, Chef Kim taking the time to personally explain the menu, Christian's wonderful service, and all the different flavors coming together to make the meal memorable. If you're looking for a place to enjoy comforting ramen, creative dishes, and genuinely warm hospitality, Modu Ramen is definitely worth adding to your Jacksonville dining list! This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Jacksonville. The flavors were so authentic that with every bite, I felt like my taste buds were taking a trip back to Japan. I loved that the ramen is customizable. You can choose vegetable, chicken, or pork broth, adjust the spice level, and select from different curry and spice options. This makes it easy to create a bowl exactly the way you like it. We tried the Vegetable Gyoza, Corn Croquettes, Beef Bulgogi Ramen with chicken broth, soft egg, naruto and bok choy, Curry Tonkotsu with chicken, mushrooms and corn, and Vegetable Curry Ramen. Every dish was flavorful, and the portions were generous and hearty. The Beef Bulgogi Ramen was a standout for me, with an amazing combination of Japanese and Korean flavors. The curry ramen had a wonderful depth and authentic spice. The broths are incredibly rich and flavorful, and you can substitute the broth if you don't eat pork. I've had similar styles of ramen in Japan, and Modu Ramen really brought back those flavors. The spice, depth of flavor and overall authenticity were outstanding. My taste buds were honestly in food-flavor nirvana! And I have to mention the Mango Sake--my favorite drink of the evening! We also enjoyed the Butterscotch Latte. For dessert, we finished with Mango Bingsu and Tiramisu Bingsu, both delicious and a refreshing way to end such a flavorful meal. Chef Kim was amazing and personally came out to talk with us about the menu and the dishes. You can tell he takes great pride in what he creates. Christian provided excellent service--friendly, attentive and quick. Modu Ramen isn't just another ramen restaurant. The combination of authentic flavors, customizable bowls, generous portions and Korean-Japanese influences makes this place special. If you're looking for some of the best ramen and authentic Japanese flavors in Jacksonville, Modu Ramen should definitely be on your list.

What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! Instead I went with the pork fried dumplings and the Taiwanrse sausage. The dumplings were very average: not bad flavor but they had a flavor and were uniform in a way that suggested they came right out of a bag from the freezer. There are much better and fresher dumplings to be had in Jacksonville. The sausage, however, was quite good. It was taught, porky, and had notes of five spice & maybe cinnamon.
