K5. Korean Chicken Wings with Honey Garlic with Shrimp Fried Rice
    She T.

I really enjoyed my food! I ordered the honey garlic wings with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll, and let me tell you, that egg roll was perfect. Honestly, it might be the best egg roll I've ever had in my life. The only somewhat negative thing I would say is that the honey garlic sauce is a little on the sweeter side. They poured extra sauce over the rice, so a good portion of my shrimp fried rice ended up sweeter than I would have preferred, which threw off the balance of the dish for me. Next time, I'll just ask them to keep the sauce on the chicken only. Other than that, the food was really good, and that egg roll alone definitely deserves some recognition!

Okay, let me start off by saying this, Crazy Chopsticks actually has brown fried rice! Most of you who remember Chinese food from the 80s and 90s don't need me to say anything else because if you know then you know! Now here is a review for everyone else. I called ahead of placing my phone order because my order was a fairly large pickup order. The guy that answered the phone was so so nice (you know who you are... in one of the photos), lol. He wasn't in a hurry to get me off the phone and actually seemed happy that I called with questions. He answered all of my questions and even gave me some menu item suggestions. Here are a few tips, for parties or large families the restaurant offers party tray sizes. Also if you call early for large orders and let restaurant know when (what time) you need to pickup the party order they will try to have your order ready for you. They will also add bean sprouts and egg to you fried rice if you ask (do yourself a favor ASK!). Okay let's talk about the food. Let's just say Crazy Chopsticks had me when I read another post claiming that Crazy Chopsticks served good ole back in the day brown fried rice. If you really want to jump back in a Time Machine request the addition of bean sprouts and eggs to your fried rice order. Ohhhh, it was excellent! See photos! My order included a few types of fried rice chicken, shrimp and house fried rice. Flavor wise they were great especially with the bean sprouts and egg additions. The only thing I noticed was that there were smaller pieces of chicken in the chicken fried rice and not larger sizes of chicken like those in the chicken and broccoli dishes. Also the size of the shrimp are smaller for the rice and Lo-mein compared to the larger shrimp found in the other dishes like shrimp and broccoli for instance. If someone from Crazy Chopsticks reads this review consider adding green onions, bean and egg to you fried rice! Everyone should experience the retro classic fried rice! The Lo-mein was excellent also. The Lo-mein and fried rice both had that kiss of a sizzling iron wok taste. It's a special char taste. It's that special flavor like the difference between a burger cooked on a griddle and a burger that cooked on charcoal grill. They are both great but one really says Summer is here! The egg rolls and dumplings were amazing. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, the filling wasn't dry and it was well seasoned. The sauce had great flavor tangy and slightly sweet at the same time. The egg rolls were nice and crunchy and Crazy Chopsticks carries the duck sauce that has apricots in it! So extra bonus points for that. I'd love a vegetable egg roll option though (one with the wonton wrapper that is) I'm not sure if they offer one though as this also seems to be one of those phantom things from the 90s! Let's talk main dishes. The chicken and broccoli was excellent. The brown sauce is the classic salty/ umami sauce not the sweet brown sauce. The chicken was very tender and the broccoli was fresh and still had the right amount of crunchiness. The same goes for the shrimp and broccoli. The shrimp were large, fresh and clean. The shrimp egg fu yung and the vegetable egg fu yung dishes were perfectly cooked. As you can see in the photos the container had a bit of extra oil but placing the patties on paper towels before plating them helped with that. The shrimps were fresh and clean. The vegetable egg fu yung included carrots, broccoli, onions, mushrooms and I believe zucchini. The dish was chocked full of vegetables. The gravy had good flavor, it wasn't the sweet type of gravy. The gravy was pretty oily on top though. Once I removed the extra oil the gravy was great. The sweet and sour chicken was good also. Not overly battered like some places serve with mostly batter and barely any chicken, you know what I'm talking about. No, these had a great balance just enough batter for a crispy outside and nice juicy tender pieces of chicken on the inside. The sweet and sour sauce was unique not your typical sauce, there was a little something different in it that made it a step above most Chinese takeaways. Give it a try to see what I mean! The sesame chicken was delightful. The sauce on the sesame chicken was really good! The chicken was tender and juicy and the breading was just right not overly breaded or so hard that the chicken sounds like rocks hitting your plate. Anyone that enjoys sesame chicken will like this one. Then there's the garlic Fried Chicken wings. I believe this was their #1 seller for fried chicken. I ordered one order with sauce and one order with sauce on the side. The order with sauce was good, nice and flavorful. The chicken wings that had the sauce on the side were slightly overcooked. It's was probably just a one off situation so I wouldn't allow this to stop you from trying the wings sauce less. Let's not forget the sugar biscuits they had ju

I ordered the honey chicken combination plate with an egg roll and a drink, and my total came out to $13.44. On my way out I grabbed a menu and noticed the lunch price was like $3 cheaper... and I was there during lunch?? So that already threw me off. Now the food... yeah, I was disappointed The honey chicken had that weird thick, super sweet breading -- like the kind they use for sweet and sour chicken. It was giving pancake batter and not in a good way. Definitely not my vibe at all. And the egg roll?? I had high hopes because egg rolls are usually good anywhere... WRONG. The outside was hard and crispy, but the inside was just gooey and off. The ONLY thing that saved this meal was the fried rice. 10/10, no notes. Service was good. Overall, I had high hopes but this just wasn't it.

Finally got to try out Crazy Chopsticks after seeing it all over The Scoop, and it did not disappoint. Got the famous honey chicken wings, general Tso's chicken, and krab rangoons. Hands down the best Chinese takeout I've had in Jax so far especially now that Panda House Riverside is closed down. I called while I was around the area and was 10 minutes away. The food was ready the moment I walked in the door. The drive was 15 min home and the chicken was still crispy when I opened the box. Honey chicken wings and general Tso's were seasoned great, especially with a side of their chili oil to go with the sweetness of the wings. Star of the show was the fried rice. Finally a fried rice with charred onions and juicy pork. We'll definitely be back!

I've been dying to try this place since I came across it on instagram. I'm so glad I finally did! I placed an order over the phone, about 10 minutes into my twenty minute drive, and the lady that answered right away was very pleasant. My food was ready when I arrived and the guy who checked me out was also very friendly. I was there a little after 2 in the afternoon and no one else was waiting but the cooks were busy in the kitchen. When I got home, my food was still hot. I ordered honey garlic wings and vegetable fried rice. They were both delicious!! It was worth the 20 minute drive and I will return.

Yesterday I ordered from crazy chopsticks for the very first time. I am hooked now‼ When I called in I explained that I do not eat pork and asked if I would be able to sub something else for the pork fried rice and the pork filled egg roll. She happily said no problem and gave me options. I ended up ordering the $9.50 Lunch Vegetable Lo mein with egg fried rice and a spring roll. I also ordered the $9.50 Lunch Sweet & Sour Chicken with fried rice and a spring roll and a large egg drop soup. I have to say I am extremely impressed‼ Not greasy, great flavor, veggies crisp, and so flavorful. I think the egg drop soup is the best I have had. Can't wait to order again‼

Wish I could give it zero stars!!ABSOLUTELY the worst Chinese take out I've had since moving here in 1999z I read the reviews and thought how exciting it was going to be. I saw the Korean wings which I'd never had but heard that Korean Wings at the Korean wing spots were good! They were burned so hard I had to remove my dentures so I wouldn't break them. The rice was all one color and the texture of the pork was off. Wasted $30 best thing was the egg roll! STAY AWAY go to Golden Eggroll

I want to welcome the Grand & new Restaurant in Arlington. They opened last week. I met Summer, she is so sweet! That means a lot to me. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, clear soup, & shrimp shumai(like a dumpling). This food is the best that I've had in a very long time. I am very happy about this. They cleaned up the waiting area with comfortable couches and decor. I wish them the best success. I pray that the Delivery Driver comes back. Once in a while, when I am not feeling well, the driver delivers for me. Pros:friendly, clean, great menu, great tasting food, & great location. Cons:none.

The fried rice I've been longing for. I've tried several establishments in Arlington, only to find yellow rice where fried rice should be. Well the search is over. The rice here is excellent. Well seasoned including the protein. Jumbo shrimp not those baby shrimp you find everywhere else. I also ordered shumai. They were delicious as well. Service is fast. There's a sofa in the waiting area. They're strictly takeout. No tables for dining in. I actually placed a second order otw home from picking my daughter up from school because I didn't want to share. She had her own.

My leftovers for next day, I forgot to mention that it's enough for 2 meals

This is my second visit in 1 wk since I discovered Crazy Chopsticks. Both visits I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen because it's just so delicious and I couldn't get myself to order anything else, but there are several ramen choices and all sound great. My husband ordered the NY strip steak hibachi the first visit and loved it, said the steak was very tender and everything was delicious (except "the clear soup was a little bland"). Second visit he had the chicken katsu and reported it was delicious, crispy and flavorful with a black garlic sauce we drizzled over it with white rice was two thumbs up, also the miso soup was a better choice in his opinion. The service is great, they're quick and happy to have your business, this is a counter service take out restaurant. I'm so happy to have found this place and to recommend this neighborhood Asian ramen joint!

A Delicious Experience at Modu Ramen!…read more We recently had the pleasure of dining at Modu Ramen on Baymeadows Road, and what a wonderful experience from beginning to end! One of the highlights of our visit was getting to meet Chef Kim, who came out personally to speak with us and walk us through the menu. He took the time to explain the different dishes, flavors, and ingredients, which made the experience feel so much more personal. You can truly feel the passion he has for what he creates. ‍ And a big shoutout to Christian, who took such great care of us throughout our meal. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It made us feel right at home. We started with the Vegetable Gyoza and Corn Croquettes -- both were delicious and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For ramen, we had several different bowls so we could experience a little bit of everything: Beef Bulgogi Ramen -- tender beef bulgogi with chicken broth, a soft egg, Naruto, and bok choy. One thing I really appreciated is that if you don't eat pork, you can substitute the broth, making it easier to find something that works for your preferences. Curry Tonkotsu Ramen -- rich, flavorful curry broth with chicken, mushrooms, and corn. So comforting and packed with flavor! Vegetable Curry Ramen -- a delicious option for veggie lovers, with that wonderful curry flavor and plenty of satisfying ingredients. Of course, we couldn't stop at the food! Mango Sake -- fruity, refreshing, and such a fun pairing with the meal. Butterscotch Latte -- sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious. A perfect little treat alongside dinner. And then came dessert... and this was definitely something special! Mango Bingsu -- light, refreshing, and full of mango flavor. Tiramisu Bingsu -- such a fun twist on traditional tiramisu! Creamy, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the meal. What I loved most about Modu Ramen was that it wasn't just about having a good bowl of ramen. It was the whole experience -- the welcoming atmosphere, Chef Kim taking the time to personally explain the menu, Christian's wonderful service, and all the different flavors coming together to make the meal memorable. If you're looking for a place to enjoy comforting ramen, creative dishes, and genuinely warm hospitality, Modu Ramen is definitely worth adding to your Jacksonville dining list! This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Jacksonville. The flavors were so authentic that with every bite, I felt like my taste buds were taking a trip back to Japan. I loved that the ramen is customizable. You can choose vegetable, chicken, or pork broth, adjust the spice level, and select from different curry and spice options. This makes it easy to create a bowl exactly the way you like it. We tried the Vegetable Gyoza, Corn Croquettes, Beef Bulgogi Ramen with chicken broth, soft egg, naruto and bok choy, Curry Tonkotsu with chicken, mushrooms and corn, and Vegetable Curry Ramen. Every dish was flavorful, and the portions were generous and hearty. The Beef Bulgogi Ramen was a standout for me, with an amazing combination of Japanese and Korean flavors. The curry ramen had a wonderful depth and authentic spice. The broths are incredibly rich and flavorful, and you can substitute the broth if you don't eat pork. I've had similar styles of ramen in Japan, and Modu Ramen really brought back those flavors. The spice, depth of flavor and overall authenticity were outstanding. My taste buds were honestly in food-flavor nirvana! And I have to mention the Mango Sake--my favorite drink of the evening! We also enjoyed the Butterscotch Latte. For dessert, we finished with Mango Bingsu and Tiramisu Bingsu, both delicious and a refreshing way to end such a flavorful meal. Chef Kim was amazing and personally came out to talk with us about the menu and the dishes. You can tell he takes great pride in what he creates. Christian provided excellent service--friendly, attentive and quick. Modu Ramen isn't just another ramen restaurant. The combination of authentic flavors, customizable bowls, generous portions and Korean-Japanese influences makes this place special. If you're looking for some of the best ramen and authentic Japanese flavors in Jacksonville, Modu Ramen should definitely be on your list.

I initially wanted to try the soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), but the waitress convinced me not to as "they take too long" to prepare. Instead I went with the pork fried dumplings and the Taiwanrse sausage. The dumplings were very average: not bad flavor but they had a flavor and were uniform in a way that suggested they came right out of a bag from the freezer. There are much better and fresher dumplings to be had in Jacksonville. The sausage, however, was quite good. It was taught, porky, and had notes of five spice & maybe cinnamon. It further reinforced my view that meat always tastes best when served on a stick! It helped bring in the final score two three stars, making up for poor service and mediocre dumplings.

I rate it as a pretty good Asian restaurant with some minor flaws that can be easily fixed. BUT! I'll say up front that I didn't find any flaws with my meal and chosen beverage! Yes, I would certainly eat or do takeout here again! The good here, were the meals. The ramen, hibachi, and the dish that Lea ordered were sizable, filled with good meats and veggies - not just a rice or noodle stuffing. My hibachi with shrimp was cooked superbly! There was a nice orange sauce on the grilled shrimp and it was seared perfectly. I was a happy man. But it also came with fried rice (you can choose plan white rice too) and mixed veggies. It was a full meal indeed! Had to take some of it home. Jimmy also had the hibachi meal with chicken. He conquered his full meal - I don't know how! Goldie had one of the Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen bowls with chicken. It was filled with meats, vegetables and other items that she enjoyed for her evening meal. Given we ate on a Monday, it was pretty slow here - but there were a good number of carryout pickups too. My only real negatives was that the service was slow. It took quite a while to get my meal to me our server said it was because the carryout orders slowed things down inside. They had one server working on this evening and she was gracious and took pretty good care of us. The one other item we talked to each other about as far as this shop is concerned was the lack of air conditioning. It wasn't hot, but it was pretty warm inside. Yes, it was a very hot day and this restaurant has a large space to cool. So I can understand the need to conserve, but others may not. All in all we had a nice, relaxed evening with lots of jokes and smiles! This was a great place to meet up and I certainly would visit again! Recommend: HIGH
