While walking through the neighborhood, I decided to try a new coffee shop for a change. Twisted St. Cafe was nearby, so I decided to check it out. The cafe is small and next to a hotel. Despite its size, it offers comfortable seating inside and out. Sitting inside, which is what I opted for, I could see the busy foot and car traffic pass by on Lombard Street. They offer a variety of breakfast options, and their Avocado Toast looked inviting, but I stayed with a cup of drip coffee. There was only one person behind the counter, and she welcomed me as soon as I walked in and took my order. The coffee was strong and flavorful, not too watery. I took my time sipping it while looking around the cafe from my seat. If I visit again, I would love to try their Avocado Toast and another hot cup of coffee here. read more

Sometimes I can surprise myself by realizing that I have not given a review of some of my favorite establishments. Indeed the Twisted Street Cafe is one of my favorite all-time breakfast places in San Francisco. I moved back up two years ago. It was important to me to identify the best breakfast houses since breakfast is one of my most important meals of the day for me. I spent a couple weeks, trying out various places. In frankly was quite leery of anything on Lombard Street due to traffic, congestion, dirt and noise. And there were a few that I tried that were not worthy. When I came across the Twisted Street Cafe, I Immediately, I knew it was different. Small, boutique, but fresh fresh fresh food. This is the type of restaurant who remembers your name and I remember your favorite orders As an example, I was working from home and on a series of conference calls so I ordered Twisted Street Cafe from DoorDash. I clearly didn't pay attention to my order and it made a couple of errors on what my usual would be. They knew it was for me, somehow, and called me to verify if I wanted it done my regular way or the way it was came across their order. Of course I want it done the way I would normally have it, and I thanked them profusely for recognizing the mistake and helping to correct it for me. Their food is fresh. Their smoothies are incredibly tasty and fulfilling. They are located on the ground floor next to a very nice boutique hotel. I usually get takeout but on weekends, I'll choose to sit outside in the sun. Clearly, they have fantastic employees who are passionate about their job and really get to know their customers. Highly recommend Twisted Street Cafe for great food and consistency. 5-stars!! read more

Cute small cafe attached to Infinity hotel. It was unusually hot in SF and it was hotter in the cafe. Friendly and ready staff. Coffee is basic, but gets the job done. Just tried a drink here recently after a run! Service was friendly, and I ordered one of their hot Chai Lattes. There is minimal seating indoors, but most of it was taken up by customers since it was quite cold outside. My Chai Latte came in a cute cup with their logo on it. Since I was okay braving the cold, I sat in their fancy outdoor seating area, equipped with a fireplace. The latte itself had a tasty chai taste and was quite warm when I received it, almost burning my tongue. The Cafe is pretty simple; their food items are just common snacks you can make at home, and the price is perfectly reasonable. They have small amount of inside seating, but a lot of outdoor seatings that is shared with a Hotel. The wifi isn't super fast, but comparable with different coffee shops across SF. I stopped by here with a group of four on a Saturday night. Got a chocolate strawberry smoothie, and a few other coffee and tea beverages. My smoothie had zero sweetness, and I could not taste any strawberry or chocolate flavor. It was very strange and kinda gross. Either there was something spoiled in the beverage (such as the fruit or milk) or they loaded it with artificial ingredients that are simply unpalatable. It would be different if the flavor was just weak, as I'll still sip on a bland or watered down smoothie. But what I got was not drinkable at all, and I had to throw it away. Everyone else who got a basic coffee or tea said their drinks were fine, not great but at least tolerable. Perhaps it was an off day, but I probably won't be back. I still gave this place 2 stars cuz staff was friendly and the place was cute with a few seats inside for hanging out with family and friends. read more

The barista staff are the loveliest people! I needed to use the bathroom, but someone was using it at the time, and the barista was kind enough to let me know when the person was out and handed me the key card. Every interaction with them was so sweet. The inside is a wonderful place to hunker down for an afternoon chat or a work session. The seats are super comfy and there are little tables. We went around 2pm on Saturday, and there was plenty of seating. We got the matcha latte! Pretty smooth and frothy. read more

Ordered the Avocado Toast with a side of bacon. Extra points for the tasty, not very toasted, but holds up to eating by hand. Looks like the entire menu is grab & go. The avocado toast was beautifully presented topped with a lovely purple nasturtium, sans the utilitarian foam container. Menu has an abundance of bagel combinations, as well as some fine coffee & tea. Inside is 4 cafe tables, facing the windows, marble tops, cherry red stylish chairs. Theres a long banquet bench hugging the picture windows. Found out the cafe rents space in the Infinity Hotel by Hilton. That explains the classy chairs & fire pit outside. There's seems to be a 50/50 mix of locals, & tourists from the many motels (really cool vintage neon signs) dotting Lombard St. This is not the famous twisty portion of the street, rather, on a busy, noisy throughway towards the Golden Gate Bridge. I'll be returning to Twisted St. cafe for sure. read more

We stumbled upon this adorable coffee shop on our way to Sonoma! It was pretty busy at about 2pm on a Saturday. We ordered: + Bagels with bacon, cream cheese + Lattes + Acai bowl The food was delicious. Nothing like a solid, basic bagel. The açaí bowl was packed with ingredients - lots of fruit, granola, and toppings. It's a bit sweeter than I like but my friend really liked it. The lattes were ok - my friend said they saw the barista pour out something premade into the cups and I felt like it tasted like cold brew instead of espresso. I actually don't know how they can prepare everything so quickly and have it taste so amazing. Had a long dayyyy exploring San Fran and really needed a pick me up! Searched for cafes near me and this one looked good! Immediately the girl serving us was so nice! She made the experience amazing (I wish I had asked her name) because the coffee itself was MID! The horchata cold brew was calling my name, and my friend decided on the same. My daughter chose a strawberry and banana smoothie. It was overall lackluster, the coffee definitely did not taste like horchata or cold brew..it tasted like watered down coffee with cinnamon. The smoothie also tasted more like ice than strawberry or banana. It was a super cute place though, with indoor and outdoor seating. One of my new favorite cafes in the Marina! Discovered this hidden gem earlier this morning and was very impressed. First, upon walking in, I notice that they use Ritual's coffee brand which is well known for its quality! I ordered the Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and substituted the hummus for cream cheese instead. This was so delicious and filling, making it a perfect small breakfast bite. I also love how they paired the toast with a fresh lemon wedge. I also tried their Vanilla-Lavender iced latte with oat milk, and it was perfect. I love how they know how to decorate their hot lattes with art! It's so beautiful. Their presentation and aesthetic is stunning. My favorite was the outdoor seating because there's a beautiful fireplace, I think it might be connected to a hotel though? Not sure. Ladies working were very kind and accommodating. New favorite bagel spot! My friend and I came here on Juneteenth and had a great time eating their bagels and drinking coffee. There's three or four tables inside and plenty of space to sit inside in the courtyard shared by the hotel nearby. Also a fire pit that's on in the evenings in the courtyard. We ordered at the counter and the man who took our order was very nice and helped us pick the best bagel option. I got a breakfast bagel and my friend got the bacon egg and cheddar. The bagel itself was great texture, fluffy and good flavor. You can pick which bagel you want on any of their menu options, we both got the everything bagel. They served us our order at our table in just a few minutes and I loved how they included Tapatio on the side! It seems like this is a grab and go spot for most people but that was such a nice touch because I love hot sauce with my breakfast bagels. Super filling and good texture eggs and bacon, would definitely get the breakfast bagel again. I also ordered a vanilla latte half sweet, which came with a beautifully decorated leaf on top. The raspberry mocha was nice and chocolatey and had the right amount of caffeine for a mid-day kick. They also serve unique chocolate and snacks that could make cute gifts or just something new to try! This likely wouldn't be my first choice to sit/study as it's right next to a busy road.
