The staff were wonderful in person and in a a refreshing moment, actually picked up the phone before I headed over. It's an aesthetically pleasing place to go if you have time time to spare. There was only one outside table at the time of this post so if you don't want indoor dining this isn't for you. I went for breakfast a bit before 11 am on a weekday. The line was short (6 people) and moved quickly as the front of house was on his game. The coffee tasted like coffee. I loved that they had oat milk and honey. It came about 5 minutes after. However, the bagel and lox we ordered took 35 minutes so we had to get it to go rather than stay and enjoy the space. The lox were delicious. They could have come from Zabar's or Russ & Daughters in a blind taste test. Or maybe I've been out of NYC too long? The tomatoes tasted like something from a fast food place and only 3 paper thin thin slices where there. the capers were plentiful and the onion was an onion. The lettuce was a bit wilted. The cream cheese was fantastic and had herbs. The bagel was a plain bagel. And yes, it was plain in appearance and even more disappointing in it's actuality. It was the "Karen" of bagels even by LA standards. Blond, lacking of anything special, and not something you don't want in your life. I might byob, bring your own bagel (ziplock) next time and plan a leisurely excursion rather than an 45 minute - to 1 hour breakfast trip. Off my first impression I would have given it 2 stars if it wasn't for the wonderful staff. The thesis: If you are bored and want to kill some time it seems a nice option. Jane Q was a cute place with small yet satisfying portions. Came into LA hungry but caught in between a late lunch and dinner. So Jane Q was great to have something fresh and tasty to hold me over until dinner. The cafe was located downstairs from the hotel, so was very convenient. I ordered the kale Waldorf salad and added chicken. Also ordered avocado toast with a poached egg because who doesn't love that? It was fresh and eye catching. I can see Jane Q as an up and coming brunch spot in the heart of Hollywood. Located on the bottom floor of The Everly hotel, I decided to brunch here with one of my close girl friends. What we ordered: -Harvest Roasted Peaches: personally I really liked this dish because I'm a fruit girl! The peaches were super sweet and I like the topping it came with (aka cheese all the way)! -Truffle Calzone: this was superrr yummy. Anything with truffle inside I WILL TAKE! This dish was really hearty and filling so I got pretty full after one slice. -Crab dip: add some of this crab dish to the truffle calzone and FUHH YOUR TASTEBUDS WILL THANK ME!! The flavor combination of both of them together was TOP NOTCH!! I personally preferred adding it to the calzone than the bread it came with. It was a little to hard for my liking. -Mushroom and beans (forgot what this dish was called): I didn't really care for this dish because I'm not a big fan of beans. This dish had a very chipotle style feel. I think I went on a Sunday so I got lucky with street parking! I'll definitely be back! You can always go upstairs and chill at the Everbar bar area! On our way to see Aladdin down the street at the Pantages theater, my husband and I had decided to check out this new place up the street. We walked the short walk uphill and were pleasantly surprised upon entering. The decor and ambience was fantastic. We ordered what seemed like everything off the menu and were blown away from the drinks alone. The avocado parfait is to die for because it is just so refreshing. It kept falling over due to its size on the wooden platter, but that didn't stop us from devouring it! The beet salad was spectacular and the garden of greens salad. Boy did that salad have a lot of flavor. The steak was a bit on the meaty side and heavy and the burrata and pear didn't "pair" well - pun. Right up the stairs is the hotel lobby and another bar where you can order some delicious drinks and just hang out with some friends. This was lovely. We got some free drink vouchers at the end which made it even better. We will be returning for breakfast as the menu looks delicious! read more

My friend and I went here before our showing of Hamilton because the menu looked fresh and we figured it would be quick service so we could make our show on time. When we walked in there were only two other dinners there, yet 3 of the items we tried to order were already sold out for the day. Disappointing, but not an issue, I ordered the Cassolet Duck Confit and my friend ordered the Baked Orecchiette. My friend was told that today the Orechiette would be with marinara and mozzarella. We assumed that meant instead of the usual sauce and parmesan. Disappointing again, but OK. After waiting an exceptionally long time for our food (for the restaurant being near empty), our dishes were served. My friend's Baked Orecchiette came with only marinara, pasta, and mozzarella. No chicken sausage and no wilted chard like described on the menu. Just a small portion of pasta, cheese, and red sauce -- for $20. My Duck Confit had good flavor but was missing the "heirloom beans" that were promised on the menu. It was just duck and onions in a sauce. When I pointed this out to our server he had to go check with the chef, and then came to apologize and let us know he would bring over a side of beans. This also took a long time and as I was finishing my duck the beans finally came. They tasted like they had been freshly boiled in water. NO salt, NO other seasoning, just bland, chalky beans. I mentioned this to our server and he apologized again. What got them a second star is that despite being incredibly slow with service, our server did seem embarrassed and was very accommodating of our issues. He ended up comping my friend's meal of plain pasta and cutting the price of my entree in half, which was considerate and appreciated. I would never dine here again and have warned friends not to go here when they are looking for Pantages dining options. I am not sure if the chef was just terrible that night, but I was extremely underwhelmed by the food and overall service for a restaurant with entrees at that price point. This may be a convenient place to grab a small bite for breakfast or lunch if you are staying at the hotel, but don't come here looking for good food when there are far better options in the area. read more

Well, shit... was looking so forward to my second visit to Jane Q for my Savannah B.E.L.T. and (insert needle scratch here). It's now just a B.E.L.T. minus the pimento cheese and pickled tomato. There are very few bars or cafes in Hollywood that offer much because most places assume you'll be content with the fact that you're eating or drinking in "glamorous" Hollywood. However! The new Everly bar, connected to the new Jane Q cafe inside a brand new hotel respects you, and is trying to take the "" off glamorous. They offer award winning cocktails as well as classics and their current head barista is one of the best (literally an award winner). It's a few blocks from the hubbub of the Hollywood walk, but you need a break from that right? In a few years, with all the construction it'll be the center of the hub. read more

The Restaurant is in the Everly Kimpton which is awesome if you're a guest at Everly. Everything was delicious here. I tried the Tomato + Mozzarella Pizza, Kale "Waldorf" Salad, Avocado Toast, and Steel Cut Oats. Everything was tasteful. I would highly recommend the restaurant. There is a separate entrance from the hotel, Jane Q is on the lower level and accessible from Argyle and Yucca. The staff was friendly and engaging. read more

Came here for an early dinner from a nearby construction site. The staff was very friendly and gave me some options as I didn't know what I wanted. I ordered the tomato and mozzarella pizza, which I was told would be an individual size at about ten inches. It was delicious. I'm the type of person who usually adds salt to my pizza but in this case I didn't have to. Thin crust which I personally prefer. Just the right amount of cheese but could have used a little bit more sauce. My colleague ordered the steak sandwich and says the cheese doesn't do anything for it and that he wouldn't order it again. I thought the prices were a bit high but it's connected to a hotel so it makes sense. The restaurant itself is pretty small, smaller than I expected. But if you go upstairs they have all sorts of chairs and couches up there with a nice, big bar. It's pretty cool looking! read more

Great spot for those going to the Pantages...located at Argyle and Yucca hust north of Hollywood Blvd and South of the Exit off the 101Fwy. It is an uphill walk from Hollywood Blvd if you have respiratory issues. Casual despite Marble table tops, it has a clean look ,subway tile. The seating isn't cozy but we enjoined the Hollywood upscale diber vibe. A long European table would be great for larger parties. The Server was terrific, and she was spot on with recommendations. Many of the items are sourced locally and the restaurant has a farmers market freshness to its dishes. Two of us shared an chareed octopus appetizer that was meaty and not rubbery. The server mentioned that the Mushroom Pizza was unlike any i would have ever experienced, and she was right! Artisan, no red sauce, but it was mushroom and if i recalk goat cheese...and yummy! It had a variety of sauteed mushrooms that i had never tried together, and it was perfect. Frankly goe a light bite , that would have been fine, and.inexpensive meal, but we shared the Short Rib ($32) if i recall, tender with a great chimchurri sauce. Well seasoned. We each had an adult beverage, both her Sangria and my Gin , Blackberry libation were very nice. I would go back. Its not a romantic spot, if that is what u seek. Its a place one can share small plats or have a nice entree. The Pizza is probably meant for two, but one hungry person could easily devour it. Our three items and 2 drinks were $98 dollsrs before tip...a value in Hollywood. Next time, i would perhaps eliminate one item and share a dessert. They also have a coffee bar. We told the supervisor and she proceeded to tell us that we may be used to having it with sweetener even though it just wasn't good. She said do we want something else we said we wanted a refund. I love this place! My friends and I always make a stop after a show at the Pantages! The atmosphere is so pretty, the food is good and the staff is always helpful. Dani is usually the girl who is working on Saturdays when we stop by, and she always takes good care of us! Definitely one of my favorite places to go in LA.
