While the chicken had some enjoyable flavor, the seasoning and coating appeared to vary between pieces. The texture was also different from what I anticipated, as it was quite tender and fell apart easily, and the coating slid off giving it a texture that seemed more similar to roasted than traditionally fried chicken. The seafood basket also presented a few concerns. The shrimp seemed slightly overcooked, and the cod did not taste as fresh as I had hoped. In addition, the honey butter rolls did not seem to be at their freshest, as the texture was somewhat firm. Definitely frozen! I think it's safe to conclude that the rolls are store bought dinner rolls that are simply tossed in the oven for a few minutes and brushed with butter. I understand that experiences can vary, and it's possible that dine-in service differs from takeout. However, based on this particular order, and the price I would likely consider other options before ordering from this location again.

My lesson learned is that customizing or removing anything might be tricky since they're working so fast that despite it being spelled out, it still gets missed. I don't mind going back to ask for sauces that were missed, or asking for a replacement since the modification wasn't made. But I think what really was unfortunate and really dampened my experience was they threw away the salad in front of me (I have a weak spot for wasting food). I really think we have enough food for everyone, but hunger exists in part because of this practice. And I know some people pull this trick to get another one for free, and that's also disgraceful. So, I schlepped all the way straight up Georgia Ave 6 miles back to my home in Wheaton fairly quickly on that Sunday as I don't like my food getting cold. I think my food stayed pretty hot as it was well-wrapped, and if it had cooled off, I could always microwave at home. The fried chicken, mac n' cheese (my favorite vegetable...I know not really a veggie but a joke), etc. were all solid. I like the local merchandise and variety of beers they serve here. I ordered the TKMA breakfast sandwich and a cold brew. They were supposed to bring the food to the table but forgot my coffee. I had to go back up and get it. The sandwich was okay. The bread was hard and not easy to eat. The coffee was good. I finished my meal and then headed on my way. It was a good place to try out but don't think I would come back again.
