Unfortunately I have to make a bad review, I'm a very patient and understanding person but when it comes to inconsistencies, disrespect and ignorance,I need to voice. I called and placed a order for delivery at 7:45pm and a female answered,told me it should be about 70 minutes (a bit over an hour) I said that was fine and received a tracking text for my delivery driver, ETA and time frame. Almost two and a half hours go by, so I call to check the status of my order. A man picks up and tells me "oh,yeah, I don't know let me transfer you over the manager" it was the same woman who originally took my order, she must have new what I was calling for because she repeated my address without me reminding her and said "oh sorry I don't know where the driver is at." So I then asked her "should I cancel and look somewhere else to pay if you don't know where staff is,especially since our neighborhood shops close early?" And she tells me " no,no we didn't forget about you our driver is just slow getting to you" (im only 12-14mins away by car) so I say ok,I'll wait. Then i received a new order text to my phone of my order being cancelled and restarting at a new time...at this point it's very unprofessional to me as a guest as well as their business. All they had to do was be transparent and honest that they couldn't take to go orders if they're short staff or bad at communicating with driving staff. I order from them alot and this was the worst they've ever been. Usually the woman has a bad tone on the phone and i ignore it but combined with that and the lack of hospitality and care for a paying costumer, flabbergasted. so I ordered from Johnny's carry out not to far from them and it was promt and organized. read more

Kenny's used to be so good, but like most of the other carryouts in the DMV area they have switched to the weird flavorless yellow fried rice, instead of "traditional" American Chinese carrot fried rice...and I have received over cooked white rice on multiple occasions read more

First the order took over an hour. I had specified to have my mambo sauce on the side three times while I placed my order. Not only did they forget my sauce but promised me that the driver was going to bring it to me once he got back to the establishment. I waited they entire night and never got my sauce even after I called back twice to ask was it ever coming. My food got cold waiting on the sauce that never got here. read more

Inattentive staff and mediocre food. I ordered my food using the Yelp app: a fish and cheese sub, a steak and cheese sub and two orders of fries, one with ketchup, and one without. The fish in the sub tasted like it was fried in old grease. Even a dab of hot sauce couldn't save it. I ate less than half and threw the rest in the garbage, where it belonged. Despite writing out the instructions, both of my orders of fries arrived bathed in ketchup (one of the people I ordered for does not eat ketchup). It was a small and simple order. If they can't do that well, then I'll take my money somewhere else. read more

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be pretty good, but I ordered a chicken lo mein combo today and there must have been three or four tiny pieces of chicken. No more than a couple ounces. Extremely disappointing. With so many options for fast Chinese food in the area, there is absolutely no reason to come to a place that's skimps on the protein. Our food was great and the delivery service was fast! We had a slight snag as we ordered online and we did not make something clear, but they called to clarify and everything was adjusted. The egg rolls are huge, juicy and delicious Shrimp lo mein - was full of flavor. Probably some of the best lo mein that I have had in this area. It can be a hit and miss sometimes between bland and soggy, theirs was about as perfect as it can get General tso's had a little heat but not too much. We ordered the wings mmm mmm good. For carry-out Chinese, the food is decent. It's near where I work and live and they deliver, so when I get a craving for fast Chinese, this has typically been from where I've ordered. The food was as expected the last two times I ordered, but the service was poor. I wrote very clear instructions in the delivery instructions just to leave the order on my porch, and the driver could text me to let me know they'd delivered my order. (Pandemic = using contactless delivery wherever I can) The penultimate time I ordered, the driver made repeated calls to my phone instead of following my instructions. When I came upstairs from doing laundry and saw my phone, I went to the porch to grab my order. The driver was still in his car, and when he saw me at the door, was very agitated and even asked why I hadn't answered his calls. Um... The final time I placed an order (Nov. 2021), the delivery instructions remained unchanged. When the woman delivered my order, she pounded on my door. Needless to say, at 7-ish at night and dark outside, I was startled. As I quickly collected myself, more banging ensued, not just at my front door, but she pounded on my THREE LIVING ROOM WINDOWS that are accessible from my front porch! Wildly unacceptable, and I told her that. I have not ordered from them since. If you like Chinese carry-out, again, a decent spot, but you may need to minimize your expectations about customer service for delivery. read more

Great Chinese food but service sucks!!!! The so-called "owner" Kenny who is a Chinese guy wearing glasses claims to be the owner. If you are the owner why don't have your employees handling the counter? Bottom line is you are in a black neighborhood and asserting your attitude on the blacks as if we need your business. If we decide to not to support your business you will not make money period. Overall the good is great but the nasty attitude is not welcomed in the Brightwood neighborhood. read more

I order chicken and broccoli but shrimp and broccoli was delivered. This is a simple mistake, except I AM DEATHLY ALLERGIC TO SEA FOOD. This service was trash and the response from Yelp was TRASH. I should sue BOTH businesses for negligence and causing me to break out in HIVES. Now I am itchy, starving, and can't get a refund in 3-5 business days! I will be reporting both Yelp and their constituent to the BBB and FTC for such terrible customer service. I'll be taking my business to Grub Hub and hopefully they won't send me the wrong food that disrupts my health. Do better. read more

I was hesitant to order from here at first because of the tales of bad service. So glad I decided to bite the bullet and just do it. First, I have actually had stellar service here. ( I went twice- yesterday and delivery today.) Both times the girl who answered the phone was polite and answered questions. When I picked up yesterday, the young guy behind the counter gave me a free two liter and was more than liberal with the sauces. He was also very friendly. Just for delivery today- $2 fee- and totally worth it. Was quick and the lunch special is an AMAZING deal. The garlic sauce chicken is superb. The Mongolian chicken and Hunan chicken are both very good. Orange beef is good and not overpoweringly sweet. This will likely be my new go-to spot. Keep it up, Kenny's!! read more

I put in an order through Postmates for pick up. I showed up to get the food and showed them the order confirmation and they WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE FOOD I PAID FOR. I showed them all the confirmation emails and they tried to insinuate that I didn't look like my profile and refused to give me the food and then IGNORED ME until I left the store. I will not be going back and would not recommend to anyone. Don't use Postmates if you don't know how to operate it or if you're going to be RACIST. read more

Long story short, food took 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive. Called several times but no one would answer the phone. No apology from the driver but expected a tip. I will take my hard earned money and spend it elsewhere. Never again! Don't order from here. They dont not appreciate you as a customer. This is a solid neighborhood Chinese carry out. The Post won't be reviewing it anytime soon but for what it is it's great. Service is rather quick and as friendly as you'd expect. I go often and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. read more
