Looking for truly authentic Lebanese cuisine with a mid eastern vibe... Well, this is the place! Located just outside of Beverly Hills in Westwood... we stopped on our way to Marina Del Ray for a quick bite that ended up being almost 2 hours!! Why? So many great items on the menu ... Since I'm the only member of the family not Lebanese, as my wife and son have a blend, I've learned to appreciate the food for the past 35 years!! So, of course they order a bunch of different things to eat and share. Toss in a couple of Corona's for the men... and, dig in. Juliet our server was great. Explained certain house dishes... more ordering. Then the hummus and fresh, warm pita bread arrived and our trip to the Middle East had begun. Almost 2 hours later, I went to the restroom and my son, grabbed the check. Way to go... Stop by for lunch or dinner and enjoy the real life experience yourself!! Bon appetite!!!

This was my first visit to Sunnin and have heard many great things. We were looking for somewhere to eat before getting back on the north 405 nightmare. The staff were very friendly. The parking can be tricky, but they do have parking spots along the restaurant. The restaurant has a great feel and the restrooms were clean. There is plenty of seating inside; great place for large parties. Outside eating is lackluster as it is a parking lot with an easyup. There is an extensive menu and once we decided we were so happy with our choices. We order the Beef Kefta Kebab Plate and the Mixed Shawarma. The meat is so flavorful and tender. The rice was also yummy. The portions are large so we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. We will most definitely be back when we are in the area again and hope you give them a try as well.

Lamb Kebab Plate! Even the salad dressing is outstanding.

Terrific! Every staff member was friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Layla! Excellent people watching! Love to see people of all ages and many cultures enjoying the same food in the same place. Parking wasn't my favorite, but it was very worth it! I'll show the pics of what we tasted, but next time, l'm already planning on trying the "spiced rice!"

I haven't been to Sunnin for over a decade, when I was a young lad I used to frequent this spot and always loved their lentil soup. Came in today and ordered that soup with some slices of lemons, boy that soup brought me back to my early 20s. What a wonderful time warp! I also ordered their chicken kefta kebab plate, the chicken was good, the rice was ok (it tasted reheated), salad was delicious, the side hot green sauce was really nice as well. All in all I was happy to visit this spot again.

The clouds were out, covering up the fact that it was a warm summer day. Those clouds served as a focal point as I drifted into the comforts of daydreaming. Suddenly, I snapped back to what we call the moment, only to realize I wasn't sure where I was. Sweat slid down my forehead as I started to accept my new dementia filled reality. First things first, how did I get here and why am I here? I remember driving here with my beautiful co-pilot that now sits across from me but I cannot remember where I am. That was when my olfactory senses brought me back to my known reality. The smell of hummus, hot falafel, tabouleh, spicy potatoes and Shish Tawook. I knew exactly where I was but I decided to verify my sanity by asking the waiter, "Excuse me, did you guys move?" The waiter confirmed that the current location was not the same as the location I had been to many years ago. This Sunnin sat in a different location but the food has done what it always does, which is, save me from my own insanity. Stay staying sane and don't forget to ask for extra garlic sauce my friends...

Been coming here for years. Family owned and a small business! My go to: Falafel entree. I'm gonna say these are my favorite falafels in west LA. Like they are PERFECT. They're crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside. Not grainy at all. Not salty. They're amazing. Comes with the most refreshing salad, and soft rice. And the HUMMUS, 10/10 too! Spicy potatoes: not spicy in my opinion and they're 5000/10. They're amazing if you like perfectly crispy potatoes, garlic and lemonnnnnnnnn omggggg I could eat these errrrday.

I had a craving for some good Lebanese food. I was shocked the place was slept empty but people started to stagger in after 4pm. They also get a lot of delivery/ Uber Eats deliveries. The staff was polite and they had nice set up inside with big windows to let the natural light in. I had the Shish Tawook plate and mint tea. Everything was fresh, flavorful and they gave a generous amount. Thank you!

What in the world. Did I Just ordered. yuck. The worst oily French fries frozen ones on top of that. Omg. Shawarma ie weird not like meat. Tahini is water and no salad with a $30 entree. Not happy. Never again. Carnival in Sherman oaks is the best in LA.

Squash/eggplant stuffed with meat. Squash is better.

Ate dinner here before trick-or-treating and was really impressed. Loved the stuffed squash/eggplant with meat appetizer. I shared the mixed combo kabob plate with kiddo. Wow their garlic paste is the best I've tasted. They said they make it with avocado oil...

Great Lebanese food that feels close to Armenian in seasoning and style, especially with the kebabs. The kefta had great texture and flavor. Portions are massive, though one plate per person is plenty. I got the grilled mix and would recommend it. Service was attentive, though it seemed like staff turnover is high since not everyone was fully in the loop. The ambiance felt like a welcoming mom-and-pop spot. Service: Attentive but a little inconsistent Food: Kefta was excellent, grilled mix had great flavors, portions are huge Ambiance: Casual and cozy mom-and-pop atmosphere 8/10 - Big plates of flavorful food in a friendly, homey setting

    Hummus !

By far is easily one of the best Lebanese restaurants in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, and I do not say that lightly. From the moment you walk in, it feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family owned. The tabouli is incredibly fresh with perfectly chopped parsley, bright lemon, and just the right balance of seasoning. It tastes like it was made that day because it probably was. The hummus is smooth, authentic, and clean tasting, not overly heavy or oily, exactly how traditional Lebanese hummus should be. The stuffed grape leaves are a standout and truly taste like they came straight from a grandmother's kitchen. Tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care, not rushed or mass produced. Every dish feels thoughtful and rooted in tradition, which is rare to find consistently. The restaurant has been around a long time, and it shows in the confidence of the food and the loyalty of the customers. It is always busy when I go, which is never a surprise, yet the service remains kind, hospitable, and efficient. The space is always clean, comfortable, and inviting, and parking has always been easy, which is a big plus in Los Angeles. If you love Lebanese food and appreciate authentic flavors done the right way, this place absolutely delivers. It is no surprise they have stood the test of time, because they truly know what they are doing.

The place is pretty small and hard to navigate around the seating. The best and our favorite of the three wraps was the tongue wrap. This was seriously outstanding and one of the best I've had. It was juicy, lemony, cooked well and flavorful. After that, things went downhill. The vegetable wrap was greasy, almost slimey, and falling apart. The vegetables were all soggy and there wasn't much flavor. The chicken shawarma panini was the biggest disappointment. This was so salty and had a bad taste like the chicken was rancid. It was dry and just not good at all. On the way out we spoke to the owner and mentioned how salty it was, to which he said he knows about it and people complain about it often. So why isn't there a change? Sadly not a place I would return to

We arrived midday on a Sunday and we're promptly sat, having been given the option for patio or indoor. We chose the patio, and between the clematis, lantana, and olive trees it is a very lovely setting in which to enjoy a meal. We were promptly brought a bottle of cold water and glasses, and our beverage orders were taken. I had a honey lavender latte with oat milk, and my husband had Lebanese coffee (no milk no sugar.) my latte was fragrant, the perfect temperature, and just the right amount of sweet. The Lebanese coffee was smooth, floral without being perfume, and excellent. We started with the falafel and the batata harra. Both absolutely excellent. For our entrees we selected the shakshuka and the Lebanese egg pie. Both were also excellent. Everything was well cooked, well presented, flavorful without being overwhelmed by any component. We took home a baklava tart, because we simply did not have the ability to eat more at the table. It was tender, moist, not too sweet, the pistachio flavor coming through as nutty and grassy, seriously so good! And it's worth noting, this whole restaurant is gluten free. I would not have realised if I had not known ahead of time. The texture of the pita with the shakshuka was exactly what one would expect, as was the bread of the egg pie. The pastry of the tart was flakey and delicious. And having said all of that, the service is what puts it above and beyond. Everyone was warm and pleasant, and seemed to genuinely appreciate the compliments. Staff seemed like they liked their jobs, which for me is always a good sign.

It had that rare neighborhood-restaurant vibe where you're made to feel comfortable, never rushed, and like they're actually happy you're there. The patio is another reason to come back. It's cozy, charming, and tucked away enough to feel like a little escape from Sunset. Perfect for a slow brunch and a couple of good coffees without feeling like you're sitting on the sidewalk. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The Lebanese egg pie was packed with flavor. The shakshuka was rich, bright, and perfectly balanced, and the falafel was some of the best I've had. We had a Lebanese coffee and a honey lavender latte, and both were excellent. The coffee had that deep, traditional richness, while the latte was floral without crossing into overly sweet territory. One thing that's genuinely impressive is that the entire restaurant and bakery is dedicated gluten-free. We don't eat gluten-free ourselves, and if nobody had mentioned it, I never would have guessed. Nothing felt like a compromise, everything was just delicious. It's also pretty cool that people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities have a place where they can order anything on the menu without having to think twice, while everyone else still gets an exceptional meal. That's a win for everyone.

Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.

There is no lack of seasoning in any of food and everything a depth of flavor I've never experienced before. You can feed 1-2 people with either the beef shawarma or chicken shawarma plate. They are not shy with either protein. If I can give you some advice, it would be to eat there. Because if you get it to go, you will be starving and hangry all the way home because everything smells just as good as it taste. All the way to work I can hear my stomach rumbling because of how good everything smells.

We stopped by here on a weekday because it was one of the dog-friendly restaurants near Rosie's Dog…read moreBeach. They have multiple outside seating areas where you can sit with your doggo. Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Good (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

The shawerma had great quality and wasn't over seasoned. The waitress was so sweet and charged my phone because it was dying! The ambience is really cute and quiet!
