Tomy spent approximately 15-20 mins with me, never asked my preferences and insisted 'anyone can cut hair'... but my hair simply got what amounts to a trim I'm capable of giving to myself. My son came in for a simple haircut and was subjected to a very hurtful comment made about his appearance -- in Mandarin -- by the hairdresser. While the stylist may have assumed he wouldn't understand, the remark was understood and luckily my son was not hurt by it. When I called the salon to address the issue, the staff member denied it entirely, which made an already upsetting situation even more frustrating. There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no acknowledgment of the harm caused. A salon should be a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background or appearance. Making derogatory comments about a customer -- in any language -- is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon and hope management takes customer feedback seriously and holds their staff to a higher standard.
