Yellowtail with jalapeño (three slices per order)

We had a wonderful experience dining at Japan House recently. Our waiter, Bao, was very attentive and was patient with our questions. You are allowed to order 5 items at a time. Their servings are small, so there is less waste. The food arrives quickly and Bao returned after about 10-15 minutes later to see what else we would like to order. Their food is super fresh and tasty. The standouts for me was the salmon belly, lightly grilled. I ended up ordering this three times, with two pieces per serving, stop judging! ;) The rice less roll was yummy, crispy rice yummy, yellowtail with jalapeño. I tried multiple items. The only items I didn't care for was the lobster onigiri and shrimp skewer. My hubby was all about the sashimi and he easily ate $100 worth it. He was a happy man! We ordered some mochi ice cream for dessert, which is brought to the table by their cute robot. The ice cream reminded me so much of Japan! We will definitely return- great food and excellent service.

All you can eat sushi, hibachi and tempura was good. The good thing about their sushi roll orders is that the rolls are not big allowing you to finish a roll and thus taste a variety of type of rolls. The wait staff is attentive. The hibachi cooking, tempura and soups were good. The atmosphere is mild noise

I hate writing not so good reviews. I hate being hyped up by stellar reviews and try out a place to be so disappointed throughout a meal and then have to write sitting on the toilet in their restroom not even done with our meal. Why is this place rated so high? It had us fooled and I am slightly upset lol I would give it a 1 star which I never did before but I bumped up to a 2 because of the nicest hostess and waitress lol she is so kind so sweet which made me feel bad because the quality of the food is not her fault. I don't think she even knows or maybe she does. I don't think so. Upon entering I smelled an odor already. I discounted that. We sat down and was excited to order lunch items. We ordered quite a few but it took a LONG time to come. Like 15mins :/ as we watch the clock tick away because they close 2:30 and it's already 1 and we haven't gotten our food. So many things are wrong idk where to begin. Too much rice for one. Ahi tower is all rice. Nigiri is all rice. Tuna wasn't fresh. Mackerel is cardboard. Salmon was ok. Surf clam and octopus was edible. All other fish is chewy n fishy. The fried stuff is ok. We ordered calamari twice. The rolls were horrid I am sorry. I've never had rolls this bad. It fell apart, nothing rolled inside and was all wrong. Idk if you can tell from the pics but it's wrong. A child must have rolled it. I went to the restroom to look at who rolled it too. I feel so bad but I am in shock what a bad experience this place was. I wanted to like it so bad because we were hungry, the reviews were good and even a friend said it was ok and her parents came a lot so I did not expect this. The ice cream was good and I ate more calamari but even the udon and ramen tasted like it came from a package. Not authentic at all. The taoyaki was raw. The karate was from a box. The katsu was ok. Edamame was ok. The cat robot was cute and the place was pretty but again what happened to the food? It's probably the worse sushi I've had. Even worse than this place I had in Austin which I wouldn't go back. It wasn't fresh and the quality was so bad :( I hope they read this review and make some changes because $21 for lunch should be better than this. Sushi Masa in Plano is better than this. There are so many other ayce sushi places in town. They must be fresher than this? Lesson learned... Yes we are disappointed but again willing to pay our share bc our hostess waitress Julie was so nice. Have to commend her for being so sweet amidst the horrible food

Finally made it to dinner service! Had all the sashimi I could eat ! We all so got to try the Japanese short ribs. They were fatty and delicious, hard to eat with chopsticks though so use your hands. Our server checked on us regularly and gave recommendations for the specialty menu, hurry and try the salmon belly before it's gone !!

I did the AYCE menu for lunch. It was yummy. Great variety. I tried the Ahi Tower, Fried Shumai, Dallas Roll, California Roll, Volcano Roll. Enjoyed the cooked rolls a lot.

I guess I'm a sushi snob. It's all you can eat but the more I ate the more I could taste that the quality wasn't to my standards. I honestly had to keep spitting it out near the end. I don't like the ramen. It's been awhile since we visited since writing this review (3/17/25) so I don't remember too much. The place isn't that stand out but we tried something new. Service was fine. You order and they bring it to your table. The decor looks nice. I think there are other places that have a bit better quality with the similar concept.

PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE THANKS TO JASON!!! I've dined in several times here now, and the service is always amazing! They get orders out quick, and the staff is so kind. However, my most recent dinner with our server Jason blew me away! We usually go on weekends for dinner, and wait is usually up to 10 minutes. For this most recent visit, we got Jason as our server! Hands down one of the best servers I've ever had EVER! He made our dinner experience so delightful. Jason made great recommendations based on our preferences, and he also made suggestions from what we ordered before! He made sure we always had everything we need and that everything was good! Zack the manager is also very accommodating and made sure to ask how everything was in our table! Food here is always fresh and delicious! I love the nigiri and hand rolls here. Great selection for AYCE! Definitely a fave spot of ours! Parking is ample as well! Good ambiance, everyone is friendly and never too noisy!

First time and the food was delicious! I don't eat much in one sitting so it was nice that the portions for the dinner "all you can eat" were small so I got to try a lot of different rolls. The crispy rice was really interesting but good! Favorite was the Dallas and Chy Chy roll. Also very good service and everything came out quick! Will definitely be back.

I've been coming here with my best friend for lunch for months now. This quite literally is just THE spot. The price point is absolutely insane and so worth it. I love that there is a transformer at the door. I love that there's privacy between each booth. The service is so great and there's never a lag in food. It's yummy for being all you can eat. I just love this place and I hope it stays within ten minutes of me forever.

Absolutely amazing and delicious sushi and sashimi. I love the AYCE, at a rather reasonable price as well. The rolls are not too big, giving you space to try other menu items. The sushi and sashimi were all fresh and brought out quickly. The appetizers did not disappoint and everything was full of flavor, down to the dessert! I am definitely coming back again.

Really enjoy coming to Japan House. The variety of sushi options is fabulous. Love that the portion size is smaller so you can try more things and not get stuck with 8 rolls of the same sushi. Service was fine and food was fresh.

This place is so good and such a hit in Jim that I had no idea about! I came here one day with a group of people and oh my goodness I did not know that this was served like a buffet style! We came for lunch in less than 25 bucks. It's pretty much all that you can eat and I must say the customer service was super good and they have a robot in there that delivers ice cream. You can get anything from the miso soup all the way up to many different rolls whether they are fried or not, or you can order many different dishes, ranging from noodles and rice bowls that have a variation of meats. I will be coming back here absolutely because I had no idea that it was all you can eat. There are so many things on the menu that I would like to try and they bring out the portions that are small enough but big enough that you're not overdoing it and feel stuff. My favorite thing to eat was the fried salmon. It was so good and I must say I'm a huge fan of miso soup so this was perfect. Hope to see y'all soon as I will come back to try a few more options and then be on my way. There's also options to not order the buffet. You can order à la carte. I will tell you also that I'm a big fan of their edamame which was really good too, and all of their ice cream is delicious.

Was craving sushi, but visiting DFW. Yelp! did me good by showing me Japan House. The place was nice inside with a good atmosphere. (And a cool little robot that delivers food) SERVICE: I was greeted right away and able to sit within minutes. I chose the bar so I could get a drinky-drinky. Jesus was tending bar and did a fabulous job with conversation and service!!! FOOD: The food was great!! I had the avocado salad (super fresh, avocado was tender and flavorful, and the dressing was YUM!) I also had the rice-less roll, Rainbow Noratu(sp?), then topped this off with a side of Ahi Tuna and the Dallas roll. I would recommend all of it! This was a great find for me since I was staying near the airport. (Quick Uber drive). If you haven't tried, their all you can eat option looked pretty good. Will try that next time.

It was pretty quiet and I was able to pick a few items and watch the Olympics on a TV. They had lots of sushi options, as well as hot food items. Spicy tuna was just ok. - Sushi Burrito: $7.99: fried california rolls with a teriyaki glaze? I guess I should have read the description better. I've never had a fried burrito, so what showed up threw me off. Very salty. - Beef teriyaki and shrimp/vegtable tempura, with potstickers $16.99: Served with 4 shrimp! Also served on a plastic to go tray, which is weird, but maybe this reduces waste if most people end up with leftovers? It is a lot of food! Beef was a small portion but good flavor. I definitely ordered too much food for one person, but I wanted to try a few different things. Overall, the tempura was my favorite, but you can get that at a lot of places. The Spicy Tuna Tower was prettier than it tasted. Unfortunately, my standards are higher, coming from the Bay Area. Everything was just really salty and I ended up drinking a lot of water. On the bright side, the ambiance is nice and the service was excellent.

It was SOOOO LOUD though. just so many people and loud. Hard to have a conversation. Got the crab cake salad ($34). The crab cake itself was legit. The salad part was an interesting set up since they just had the crab cake on the side and then the salad on the side. I really liked it! Tried one of the sushi rolls and it was interesting that they added some olive oil and citrus?? when it wasn't specified on the menu at all.. I liked the roll though. It will run you $20+ for one. I continue to be impressed by the service and the food. And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.
