Tuna roll you can add to meal for $1. Taste like .25

This was my second and last visit to Yasashi. The food is ok at three stars. Sushi was comparable to a buffet offering. Not bad, but not fresh and satisfying either. The Ramen broth is simple; it's not a layering of deep flavors like those found in other ramen places, which leads me to wonder if it's made in-house or purchased. On this trip, we tried some of their chicken offerings. While the chicken bento and chicken Katsu were better than the Ramen and sushi, they still weren't amazing by any means. The staff are likely well-intentioned, but they really amplify the disappointment and create discomfort. The moment you sit, they hover, pressuring you to order while still scanning the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The room is cramped; tables are packed so tightly that shifting your chair risks bumping the diner behind you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is semi-acceptable if the place is packed, but it's not. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waitress insists on putting people next to each other instead of spreading them out a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At one point I briefly sat on the bench to help my child and the waitress took my chair away, it was uncomfortable and just odd to put it mildly. Recommend immediate staff training and professional assistance with dining layout to maximize seating while ensuring guest comfort.

I wouldn't quite hit that 4 star rating here... the food was decent, prices were decent, [[HIGHLIGHT]]venue was not the cleanest but again... decent[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was adequate at best... there just wasn't anything that went above average here... still, if you're looking for decent, than you've found your spot.

Sashimi 15 Salmon teriyaki bento Unagi don Potato croque (2) Oyster croque (4) Kind of a hole in the wall place, with an interesting decor with a cherry blossom tree and a Japanese doll display and then Al Pacino photographs on the wall or and jazz music this particular evening. The food is pretty amazing and came out quickly. Some of our dishes came with miso soup and salad and the apps came out next and were super hot! The oyster croquettes were spot on, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and soft and tender meat on the inside. The dipping sauce was good too! The unagi was super soft and very flavorful atop a generous bowl of rice. The rice had a bite to it! Yum! The salmon teriyaki bento had so many things... it was a party box! The tempura was light and loved the variety of veggies. The star of the night was the sashimi bowl. Beautifully plated and the sashimi was the perfect temperature, they kind of melted in your mouth. Only thing is that the wasabi wasn't really strong, didn't have the usual kick.

We finally have a chilly night and my bestie was craving ramen so it worked out perfectly. I got the Tonkatsu Garlic ramen and I loved it. She got the tonkatsu ramen. Really good flavor and a generous portion for the price. We ordered a couple of rolls and we both liked them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small and cozy. It has a very homey feeling to it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and everyone we had contact with was very friendly and accommodating. I don't live in the area but I would definitely come back

Yasashi Sushi is definitely a step up from most sushi places, but it's still not quite what I'm looking for. The fish was fresh, and the presentation was nice, but the flavors didn't really wow me. The rolls were good, just not great, and nothing stood out as exceptional. It's better than your average sushi spot, but not enough to make me want to go out of my way or return. I'm still on the hunt for that truly bomb sushi experience, and unfortunately, this wasn't it.

We were trying to get into a restaurant across the way, but there was a two hour wait and we were too hungry, but we found this fabulous restaurant Yasashi. Everything was very tasty. I specifically liked the no rice Sushi, instead of rice they use shredded crab, and that was delicious. But I was sad that was so extremely pricey. You expect Sushi to be a little expensive. But I didn't feel that the extra charge was worth what we received. It was good, but for that price I expect spectacular.

Yasashi Sushi Ramen Grill is a great tasting place and I would absolutely come here again. There are a couple of things that were a miss but overall I had a great time and experience. THE KARAAGE: Unfortunately the chicken karaage was not the best that i have had before. Although it was very light and crumply there was little chicken inside and the texture of the chicken inside is almost as if there was no chew at all. This is not exactly a bad thing, however, it is not the best. The seasoning was a little bland although giving a side of some sort of sauce ie. kewpie mayo with this dish would fix that. THE RAMEN: The ramen was very delicious, the first thing I did, as with all ramen, is to taste the broth. The broth is savory, creamy, light, and delicious. You can see the garlic oil floating over the ramen which to me is very appetizing. The dish came with a spicy paste where you can either mix directly into the soup or eat as a compliment with the ramen, I enjoy the latter; except for my favorite ramen shop in Colorado, I havn't seen any other ramen shop do this. The eggs were almost soft boiled but were cooked a little too long. The yolks are solid and pasty instead of smooth and syrup like with most ramens. The chashu pork was soft and tasty, nothing wrong here. THE NOODLES: The noodles are squiggly noodles with a pleasant texture, not too firm and not too soft. They catch onto the broth very well and bring all the flavors in together. Unfortunately, I had the bad luck of receiving what probably was a clumped and condensed "corner of the packet" noodles, because there was a large piece of ramen noodles that were squished into one in my bowl (See Attached). This gave me an impression of cheap noodles, I could be wrong, but nonetheless I still enjoyed the meal. THE SUSHI: The difference between an AYCE sushi place and this place is that Yasashi will give you some FAT pieces of sushi. In case you thought you knew what sushi tastes like, you have to come here. I was wowed when I tasted these as it was prepared very well. The nigiri is plated beautifully, nothing gimmicky, and right to the point. They applied a perfect amount of wasabi to the underside of the cut and I was pleased. I will 100% come back here if it is just for the sushi. I would recommend spending $50 here than at an AYCE sushi place, you will be full and satisfied. I guarentee it. THE SALMON LOVER ROLL: Holy crap, this is just amazing. I expected a normal salmon roll with rice on the bottom but the bottom has SPICY SALMON. An explosion of smoked salmon flavor from the top and spicy salmon on the bottom. The sauce that they used for this roll was also just fantastic, I could not have asked for more salmon. By far one of the best rolls I have ever had. Try this if you go. THE COST: I spent around $75 before tax for 1 salmon lover roll, 10 piece sushi plate, 2 tonkotsu ramen, and 1 chicken karaage. I took home food afterwards as well. I say go, check this place out, the staff are very friendly, the appetizer and my experience with the ramen thing may be a miss, but the sushi made up for it.

A total shot in the dark while riding through Irving. We stumbled upon Yasashi and it has been the FRESHEST sushi I've had to date since moving in the dfw area. The service was fast, the food very fresh & the price was not outrageous. Under 70 for 3 adults with an appetizer. The bento lunch was a great deal & it offered a generous amount of sushi, nigiri & sashimi. I was stuffed and couldnt finish it all. Great to know theres some hope here for fresh sushi.

    Elven B.

Went across the street to this restaurant when Mr. Max had a 2.5 hour wait. Food was half decent, the bento was well prepared and prices were fair. The chicken karaage was fried chicken breast strips. Would be fine if they marked it as such, but not karaage. The tonkatsu garlic ramen broth was flavorful, but the egg and noodles were over cooked. Sushi rice, something I'm particular about had no flavor, just regular white rice. Servers don't clear dirty plates from the table and we had to flag them down for drink refills.

Had this yesterday for a late lunch, early dinner and was impressed. Staff was super friendly. Decor was a little off for what you'd normally see at a sushi/ramen joint but the food was good.

Definitely a must stop by. The staff is friendly and informative. The vibe is chill, small and cozy. It's nestled in between a beauty supply and a thrift store, so it's a hidden gem sort of. The signature yasahi specialty roll was delicious and the sauce on the Louisiana roll was spicy and accented the crawfish well. Will need to go back to sample more rolls because the fish quality was very fresh and the inside of the restaurant is pretty clean and looks never inside than outside.

    Chicken Teriyaki Bento
    Blake Z.

I just had the most delightful experience at Yasashi! The chicken teriyaki bento box was simply incredible. The tender, juicy chicken paired perfectly with the flavorful teriyaki sauce. The side dishes, including the fresh salad and miso soup the fried rice, complemented the dish beautifully. Every bite was a burst of savory goodness. The portion size was generous, making it a satisfying meal well worth the 15.99 price. I highly recommend Yasashi for their scrumptious bento boxes. The service was amazing the only draw back to this place is the lack of A/C it felt like 90 degrees inside the restaurant.

Since we were craving ramen, we stumbled upon Rakkan Ramen, and I'm glad we did! The restaurant is located in a very swanky and beautiful area. The inside is elegant, well organized, spotless, and so clean you almost feel guilty leaving footprints. As luck would have it, we accidentally entered through the rear entrance and confidently walked right up to the counter as if we knew exactly what we were doing. We were warmly greeted by Ms. Emily and Ms. Jaime, who were both serving as hostess and waitress. Emily escorted us to a comfortable booth and quickly brought us glasses of water, making us feel right at home. We started with the five-piece Chicken Karaage served with arugula and a slice of lemon for $9.50. The chicken was wonderfully crispy, which I really enjoyed. I squeezed that lemon over every piece, hoping for a little extra magic. While the texture was excellent, I thought the chicken itself could have used a bit more seasoning. For our main course, my daughter ordered the Quartz Ramen with chicken and a boiled egg. The broth was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, with fresh vegetables that made every bite enjoyable. I ordered the Garnet Ramen, which was just as delicious, with flavorful broth, chicken, vegetables, and a boiled egg. Both bowls were $17, and while they were absolutely tasty, I couldn't help but wish they had been a little more generous with the noodles. I guess they wanted to leave us wanting more! Overall, this place is truly awesome, and you can bet I'll be back--even if I have to go by myself! One little heads-up: finding a parking spot might test your patience, but the walk gives you a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, so it's not a bad trade-off. I hope to see you there!

Holding really hot bowls and passing it down to my family members where there were much space to put the bowls and plates down in front of us made me upset knowing I was with older adults whom cannot take the steaming ramen bowls.
