These guys took the time, mounted them clean and made sure everything lined up. They may be a Subaru shop, but the owner knows Volvos well, and I trusted my baby with them. They did a great inspection of the vehicle, a 1990 Volvo 240, photographed or recorded videos of any issues they found so I didn't have to second guess anything they were telling me, and then returned the car looking better than ever! Had a large amount of work done. Got the car back with loose bolts, the starter was left loose and the under tray was left hanging. After almost 7k of work I was told I needed to spend another 6k to fix the car. Ok I get it rough diagnosis and my car needed work. They tried to somewhat make it right, but left the car in a state where they clearly didn't want to touch it anymore. During this time they were posting social media videos joking about customers wanting their cars fixed and how they can't work miracles. All while having my vehicle for an extended period of time. Ended up selling the car for pennies on the dollar. Just go to the dealer. read more

Long time customer, took vehicle in because of warning light, was told needed additional work and given a hefty quote for parts. The next day was told the parts would be $1300 more. When I picked up my vehicle, the warning light was still on with additional warning light. Staff said he notified me of the issue over the phone. He DID NOT. FYI, if you schedule an appointment it doesn't mean your vehicle will be taken care of that day. read more

A friend recommended this place so I gave it a try. Very nice people. Solid service. HOWEVER. I was given a list of recommended maintenance repairs (some in red and deemed "urgent") that would have cost $3,637. I was told I could use a new radiator, needed new rear shocks, a new serpentine belt, and a valve adjustment (among other things). I just took it to another mechanic I trust for a second opinion. He said all I needed was a new serpentine belt. Just to be absolutely sure, I did a price check online for a new radiator. A quick google search indicated a new radiator should cost me about $70-$116 (see pic). Their estimate (see photo) quoted me at $470.18 (not including labor, new hoses, or a new cap). Bad communication & not great service! First, they kept my car for 2 days to diagnose & I had to call to get an update on my car. They didn't call me or send me the inspection results & quotes. I have a 97 suburu....estimate came to $6000....if I wanted a new car I'd buy one & don't expect my old car to be in perfect condition. Check engine lite on....they changed the fuel cap & cleaned up the EGR Valve & changed my belts for bout $600. So I pick up the car & drive the car from their shop to Belen & get home finding the hood unlatched. After the July 4th holiday, I had to call to request a copy of paid invoice & get status of repair. The shop is packed with cars & quite dirty...unorganized u professional. 2013 outback with a bunch of miles but still (mostly) running well. Except one day while driving maybe a little too fast through the canyon the engine skips a beat and literally every idiot light on the dash comes on. Worrisome, but other than the one skip the car runs fine... i cautiously head home. Search on the world wide inter web reveals similar mysterious issues have plagued Sub. Owners for awhile... cures are wide, varied and never conclusive... surprise. Suburu dealer took two tries, neither conclusive and ended with the sage advice to ignore it and just "whistle past the graveyard" Felt wrong... even for a spare car doing errand and dog (ride in the car!!) duty. Took it to ReIncarnation and it took them a bit of troubleshooting and a couple hundred bucks but they cleaned all the sensors impacting timing, oil etc. Now almost a month later, car is still running good and without the frightening dash lights. I had a 75 point inspection done here on my 2013 Subaru Outback back in February . The quotes they gave on suggested repairs were down right laughable. I just purchased the vehicle and wanted to see why I was seeing transmission fluid on the ground. Because a trusted friend of mine goes there often I didn't want to challenge them too much BUT they actually put on the inspection it had a blown head gasket! I had to point this out to the guy at the counter because I knew that wasn't right. I am a woman that knows engines. He said OH yeah sorry, thats a mistake that shouldn't be on there......WHAT? I took our 2013 Subaru Outback there on February 2 for routine maintenance as well as inspection as I was giving the car to my kid in Denver. I had 57000 miles at that point. I was told that the battery was iffy, and that the control arm bushings were fraying, otherwise it was OK. I was more than a bit surprised to discover that to fix these two issues, as well as do what they felt was routine 60 K maintenance (without rotation) would cost over $4200. They even wanted to replace the radiator with its attendant hoses, although they pointed out nothing wrong with it. I paid for the inspection, got a new battery at Interstate (they even wanted $65 for labor for that), and had the car looked at by a relative who has his own import car repair shop in the Denver area, who pretty much laughed at their recommendations, although he agreed that the bushings were a little frayed but not needing replacement at this time. He felt that nothing else was currently necessary. We had brake pads done in the past there -- they seemed OK with a specific job, although high end , but I heard they do good work and I wanted my kid to be safe. They are pleasant and seem competent, but wow! read more

Car broke down while traveling, and we could not get through to the nearest Subaru dealership to even confirm if they had time to see my car. On my most recent visit, for an oil change, A/C recharge, basic odds and ends, I asked Juan about a loose attachment on my front bumper. Even though I was there to pick up the car and had already paid, he focused on my concern and with the careful application of screwdriver and persuasion was able to fix the loose connection in a matter of minutes while I looked on, admiring his finesse. Wish I could give Juan and the guys at Reincarnation 100 stars. We showed up before they opened after a 5 day ordeal trying to drive back home to Florida from Utah. We broke down in Utah then tried to make it to our next stop in Dallas when we broke down again in Albuquerque. We showed up, told them our situation, and they immediately took our car and went to work. The problem was our transmission which was under warranty and we needed to get back to Dallas urgently for work- so Juan literally gave us a wrench out of their shop and spent time showing us how to reset the battery of the problem happened again so that we could leave and try to get to the Subaru in Texas. A while ago I took my car into ReCARnation to investigate two different problems. One turned out to be benign, but for the other they told me I needed new tires (which I expected) and some suspension work (not too surprised). The diagnostics were completed in the space of a day, and when I came back a week or two later to have the suspension work done, it was completed in a day as well. The pricing seemed quite reasonable. I had gotten a quote from another shop on work similar to what ReCARnation recommended and the prices came out to be just about the same. However, I didn't buy tires through ReCARnation as their quote was quite high. Besides that high price on tires, though, the staff were helpful and competent, explaining the issue thoroughly and quite willing to work through quotes and different options for a repair. If I had a complaint, it would be that they were not able to be very clear on how long work would take. Both times I went in it was for a one-day repair, and I was waiting around to get my car back, so I was looking for a time that I'd be able to pick it up. Both times they ended up being finished several hours later than they had initially predicted. They did end up waiting around a bit for me to get there to pick up my car once, though, since it ended up being finished right before closing - I appreciated their patience. Overall, this isn't a bad shop, and in particular I trusted their diagnostic work. read more

On a recent road trip, my Subaru had all the signs that it needed a new clutch. This was on a Friday evening. I waited until Monday morning to bring the car to Reincarnation based on reviews here on Yelp. Being a Monday morning I wasn't sure they'd fit me in but they did understanding I was anxious to get home. The five star reviews are well-deserved. A few hours after I brought the car in, they called to let me know that it wasn't the clutch but something much easier and less expensive. I dealt with Juan who was great. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional. He brought me to and from my hotel close by. A short time later I was on the road again. Other mechanics would have done the simple repair and charged me for the clutch replacement. If I lived in ABQ, they would be the only mechanics I would want. Thanks Subaru guys! read more

Honestly really genuine people and great shop. Dealt with Juan he offered me a ride to my nearby hotel while the work was done. I was on a road trip in the area from Maryland and had the car diagnosed at a pep boys on a Sunday. Said my motor was shot. Brought it to this place the next day and they diagnosed it properly and told me it was the timing belt roller and assembly. Much cheaper than getting a new engine. Helped me out immediately and did the repair within the day. Fit me right in the schedule. Not I'm back on the road tomorrow and looking forward to my trip. Can't thank them enough. Reincarnation is the place to take your Subaru. They fixed my power steering leak for around 50$. This is after I took it to old town auto repair to -fix a wheel bearing, rotate my tires, and check for safety issues after the 2 month road trip we took. Old town told me it would be like 500$ and that I needed all my gaskets replaced. It would have been almost 2,000$- shitty. So I took it to reincarnation for a second opinion. Now all Subarus leek- they run forever. This is my second one. You just have to watch your levels. Reincarnation told me one side gasket has a slow leak, but it was cool for now. They had a special wrench and tightened the bolts on my power steering and told me to check it when I checked my oil. They said this fix works quite frequently with this problem, and that if it didn't -this repair cost -would be put towards the total of the more expensive repair This was in Winter- and so far no leaking with the PS has returned. I will defiantly be taking my Subaru back to them for any services. An honest, informative and quick shop. Reminds me of the shop I used to use when we lived in Colorado. I have had my car here twice in the last year. Lately I had quite a bit of work done, including an alignment. Just before finishing the job, a part was accidently snapped off. They took full responsibility for it. I would have never have know that this was their error, and they could have easily told me that they found this part broken and I had to replace it as well. Nope, they told me right up front. They ended up keeping my car overnight, and loaned me a really cool old Volvo to get home. As usual, they did a great job on my car. The Subaru Guys at Reincarnation are great to work with. We took our 1999 Volvo wagon, after a few negative experiences with Independent Volvo. Asked Eric to price out three fixes - brakes, rebuild all-wheel drive, and replace clips to keep 5th door together. We knew we could only afford one thing right now... brakes! They gave us fair prices on all three (much better than Independent!), fixed our brakes , and ended up using parts on-hand to fix the 5th door. Eric was great on the phone and explained everything upfront - he even gave me a ride to the Railrunner station. Ben, Jared, and Eric get the job done.
