I have to admit, I had some sort of mental block against Jared because of their "he went to Jared" commercial. (I imagine that if Jared and Kay jewelers had a baby it would like like a beast, but with more bling.) But then a diamond fell out of my wedding band because I'm irresponsible and hadn't gotten it checked in five years. So the Jared on William Cannon is right by my house and with two small kids, convenience trumps all else, even atrocities like carrying that terrible Pandora line, so I stopped by. They were super nice, and they were decently priced, and super fast (I guess because they have in-house jewelry-fixing people). So I asked if they could size my rings while they were at it. The last time I asked someone to size them (years ago, they've been too big since I got engaged) this other jewelry place quoted me something twice as much! (probably because they had to mail them out, which meant insuring shipping both ways) Plus it would have taken a week. They fixed my ring, sized my engagement ring and wedding ring, and did all the other fancy stuff so they looked brand new again in like a day. I'd give them five stars if I knew that they were the best of the best, but I'm clearly too irresponsible to take care of jewelry because I lose diamonds and stuff and shouldn't even be allowed to comparison shop so I'm not really qualified to say. Well worth every penny, they are always nice, today I walked in to have my watch repaired, the strap had fallen off on one side. I had a great experience today. Brianna explained what you need to know about diamonds. Ricky Barker assisted us in finding the right ring. I never felt any pressure and he was incredibly patient as I compared numerous rings, multiple times. We were able to get our ring sized and the diamond put in before we left. In the mean time, Ricky seated us in the lounge, offered us a snack and made me a cup of coffee. He checked on us throughout, cleaned our rings we wore in and then brought me my completed ring. First i came here for a piece of jewelry for my wife before we were married, i brought her with me and we looked around for a necklace, but she wasn't in love with anything in the store. She finally found an infinity bracelet she loved so we purchased that piece. good price range (around 250$) We were helped this time by a sales associate names Shawn who was spectacular at customer service. Then, i wanted something so we went in the next month and i purchased a watch. they had pricey pieces and some cheaper ones. i went for a manageable piece since i always lose my good stuff. (around 400$) at that time my wife wanted to purchase the watch for me. They offered us a store credit card since my wife is always interested in building her credit. we filled out a small form and cosigned for a credit account with the store and charged the watch to it. it's been an easy payment process, we've taken care of it all on their online website. a month or so later we went back into Jared since both purchases were so easy, to find my wedding ring. i had looked at their online website and found a tungsten ring i wanted that they had in stock at this location. we went in to pick it out and were actually surprised at the large selection of tungsten rings they had in store to choose from. again, we purchased my wedding ring from there and added it to the credit card for easy monthly payments. have not had a problem at all. a while after that i went to online site and bought my wife the matching infinity necklace to match her bracelet for the wedding. it came in about 7-10 business days in the mail. package did not say 'steal me' thank god. again, after that purchase my wife and i went back and she bought 3 sets of earrings for her wedding party, they had tons of choices in store and found her matching sets for a decent price (75$ each) My wife has broken her bracelet a couple times since purchase and since we got the warantee on it, she has been able to take it in for free repairs for life. we liked their customer service so much we took an old piece of jewelry my wife had that was broken in to be repaired as well. The ring my wife took in was platinum so the shop had to send it off for repairs to their airport location, which i wasn't comfortable with but it seems to be fine so far. We have nothing but great things to say about this location and their staff. She knew exactly what we were wanting, and was able to communicate it to the designers. I love, love, love that place and love them even more now. I will be restating some of that review, so if you've read it, I apologize. My boyfriend bought me a $100 or so necklace from this Jared last December for Christmas. I wore it happily until the chain broke (my fault) and one of the stones fell out (NOT my fault--but at least I still had the stone). I took it to Jared to get these two items taken care of approximately 2 or 3 weeks ago. They wanted to charge me about $73 to fix it. I told them that was RIDICULOUS since the necklace only COST $100. I took it to Throckmorton's, got it fixed at a much better price ($40), and went about my bidness. (I have to add the Throckmorton's guy's comment here: he said that the necklace was "made very quickly" {read: poor quality, shoddy workmanship}, and he was certain his replaced stone would not fall out, but he couldn't say much for the others.) I've been, again, happily wearing my necklace for about a week now. Until today, when my entire world exploded. I looked down at my neck and: NOTICED ANOTHER STONE HAD FALLEN OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, this time, I don't HAVE the stone to be reset! So, I just spent $40 to fix a $100 necklace (for sentimental reasons, of course) and now I have to spend another God-knows-how-much to BUY a new stone and have it set????????? So, I'm angry. Real angry. With grand plans to waltz into that store on William Cannon and give them a piece of my mind. In addition, I will SHOUT my disapproval from the rooftops of Yelp.com headquarters and tell ALL my friends and family how GOD AWFUL their product is. But, I'm not done. And, the message would be spread to anyone in the store that could hear. She told me if I went in there and talked to any of the customers that they would "call the police and have me escorted out." My husband bought a sterling birthstone bracelet for me for Christmas. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the quality for the price. He paid over $250.00 for the cheaply made bracelet containing four birthstones. The Opal and sapphire were synthetics. The bracelet was only available in a size 7 or 8-1/2. Thinking the 7 too small, he purchased the 8-1/2 - way too large. I can't return it, due to the customizing of selected stones. It was a sweet and considerate gesture by my husband, but I feel Jerod's took advantage of the men buying gifts for their sweethearts. I was 3 days late on a $225 return due to the fact that most of my receipt did not print out (the ink ran out) and I did not check it before I left the store (just stuck it in the bag). Was not positive of the day of purchase... anyway there was not flexibility and no conversation. Just a condescending "sorry (yeah, right) but its past 30 days" comment. Manager would not even come over to try to accomdate me or explain. Oh well... $225 goes to Jared, and I learn my lesson and never shop there again (lots of anniversaries and graduations coming on the horizon for me). These guys could care less about customers vs. 3 days, bad ink, and a policy. My experience with Jared's was not a good one. We got engaged in Maine and picked up a ring at Jared's in Portland. When we got back to Texas we took it to the Jared's by Lakeline Mall. There were some flaws in the prongs that needed to be corrected. So we dropped off the ring came back 24 hours later and it was still flawed. We went through this 3 more times. We kept telling them to keep the ring until it was perfect. We had designed our own. The final time the lady at the counter told me "You know what your problem is you expect it to be perfect these are machines being guided by humans, it is not going to be perfect". Excuse me? We are spending thousands of dollars on a ring and it isn't going to be perfect? At this point being 60 days later my Fiance asked for our money back. We did get our money back. Worst customer service ever! We just celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary and as luck would have it I lost the diamond to my engagement ring. My husband and I went to Jared to see what our options were for replacing the stone. The young woman that assisted us appeared very disinterested. She didn't show us any stones and said they had a very limited display. It became obvious she didn't care about selling us a ring. We were also there to get a Pandora bracelet resized. She treated us as if we had inconvenienced her. She rushed us through the resizing of the bracelet, dismissed my questions about replacing the diamond and ended the service. We left very hurt and upset. Several years ago we had two other stones put in new settings and were treated royally. I sent an email complaint to their main office and was told that someone from Jared on W William Cannon would contact us. We never heard back. I will NEVER go to Jared again! read more

My experience is with the Jared on William Cannon. I bought a small gold band with pave diamonds there almost five months ago. After three months, one of the diamonds fell out. They fixed it, no problem. Since that time, a diamond has fallen out every 3 weeks. (So, 3 times in the last 6 weeks.) The last time I went in (and waited for more than 30 minutes) they told me the head jeweler said it would continue to happen and that they were going to start charging me for the labor to fix it! Although I have my receipt, they will not let me do an exchange to upgrade to another ring because my ring was a "custom order" - meaning, they didn't have it in my size and had to order one. Just had THE worst customer service experience at Jared the Galleria of Jewelry in Concord, NH. DO NOT buy from them. I bought a watch from them last week. Went in today to return it because I was lied to about what the product was and was told I had a 30 day return policy for it if I decided I didn't like it. well, apparently I was lied to about that as well because they are refusing to allow me to return it. Was told that the watch was a Sapphire Crystal watch.... yeah... right! I spoke with Samantha a representative of pandora that happened to be at, jareds on William cannon, and she would not assist me in exchanging a limited edition bracelet that I received yesterday for my purchase of $500 of beads for a larger bracelet that they had 3 of. I then spoke with Cassie and she also was unwilling to exchange the smaller 7.5 for the larger bracelet at their store. I do feel like they could care less about customer service. I also still had to fill two other bracelets for my nieces of which could cost them a thousands dollar loss. Very unreasonable. I would say avoid this particular store at all costs and go to other facilities. I would think that pandora should pull their product out of their store. I would give them a score of 0. read more

When I was getting my new $1500.00 Jared ring sized down, they asked me if I also wanted to have my wedding rings platinum polish and deep clean. I noticed 2 days later after picking them up that one small diamond was loose. I brought my rings back a couple days later and they told me that there was 4 loose diamonds, bent metal and a chipped center stone. The manager said it was "not a Jared quality repair" and was going to have it fixed until he noticed the chipped stone. Now they won't fix my rings. Do what is RIGHT Jared and fix my wedding rings. I am still waiting with corporate to get this wrong corrected. SO DISAPPOINTED. Please share this post and spread the word. read more

My husband bought me a diamond crucefix necklace for our 10 year anniversary. He was told that we can upgrade if we would like. I woke up with the chain broken. We took it back and asked to replace it, but we couldn't return it because it was after the grace period. He wasn't told about a grace period when he purchased it. So we decided to just buy a new chain because we were at a loss. My husband suggested we take advantage of the upgrade deal, however, we lost out on that because he wasn't told about a time-frame in which we would have to pay less. We ended up upgrading, and they did honor it for the original understanding, but it was handled in a very cold tone. After we signed the receipt, the casheir told us this was non refundable, not even making eye contact. This was disturbing. Purchasing jewelry for an anniversary is special, and this is not something we are always priveledged to do. It was upsetting. My husband and I share the same feelings about how we felt disregarded. This was the first time we patronized Jared. I've always imagined thiem to be elite jewelers, but now I feel they are money guzzlers with a lack of commincation and customer connection. I'm at the very beginning of shopping for engagement rings and wanted to be sized and learn about styles. I stopped at Jared to try on rings to see what they look like on my finger. The sales associate was rude, robotic, and dismissive. I asked questions about styles, cuts, prices, and she answered, but was not very patient with me considering it was my first experience with engagement rings. I wear a 7.5 and there was not a single ring in the place to try on. All the settings are separate from the diamonds, making it difficult to tell what the ring would look like after being set. Not to mention, the diamonds were not particularly discounted. After ten minutes of being in the shop, I was ready to move on. I asked if I could have a a copy of the styles that I looked at and she wrote down my name, number, and my boyfriend's name and told me that he could come in and find out what I had tried on... overall, if you're looking for any kind of personal or patient service for this experience, don't go to Jared. read more

I had an issue with my engagement ring and wedding band that I had purchased through Kay's. Customer service directed me to this Jared's to get my issue resolved. When I went into the Jared's the day before my wedding day to have the rings unsoldered as Kay's failed short I was greeted by the General Manager and another sales associated. I explained to them the many issues I had had up until that point and they reassured me that my expectations would be met and was not to leave the store dissatisfied. They unsoldered my ring to make it look at least half way descent on my wedding day, as I would have those pictures for a life time. That was a major relief! I was told by the General Manager to come back to the store after my honeymoon to have the rest of my ring repaired. When I took it in and received my ring again it was still not to my expectation and did not address my main issue. The General Manager stated that in her professional opinion my ring looked fantastic and that there was nothing else she could do and recommended I go back to Kay's. Well that's great and all but she doesn't wear it, I do, every day that I view constantly! If I had wanted to go back to Kay's I wouldn't have came here!! My expectations were not met and I left very dissatisfied. They took on the responsibility of my issues and did not follow through. Jared's ruined my engagement - over and over again! They are driven to record a quick sale, not to deliver to their promises I bought a diamond with a 5 digit price tag and asked to have a custom ring made in 8 weeks for a planned engagement trip. Jared's General Manager said "no problem". However, during that 8 weeks all deadlines were consistently missed. Not only did they NOT complete the custom on time, they were not even close to being done in 8 weeks. I had to present a temporary ring on my proposal day. As I and my excited fiancé followed up on the custom ring post proposal, the deadlines continued to be missed. 13 weeks later, the ring was still not close to being completed and I still did not have the official certification document for the diamond I purchased. I contacted the Jared's customer service/corporate office to obtain some support and prioritization of the custom ring. They were unresponsive! If you find something you like right in the case, that can be a good buy. Make sure you have everything you agreed to in hand before you pay. But if you want a custom or modified ring, don't ruin your proposal by trying to have a custom ring made at Jared's - go somewhere else for the diamond and the ring. read more

I recently went to Jared to get a watch band replaced and a new battery and was very impressed with their service and prices. I had called around and visited a couple different watch-repair stores and was quoted anywhere from $29-$35 for a battery (with a 1-5 year warranty), and also was told they did not have my band and that I would need to order it myself from the maufacturer. On my manufacturer's site I saw that Jared was a licensed retailer, and from the time I called them to the time I picked up my watch I got great service. I spoke with Shelly on the phone, and she said she could order my band and have it in the store within a few days. They would replace my battery for $15, and after that, if I ever needed a battery again, they would replace it for free! (I had just gone somewhere else and had the battery in my wife's watch replaced for $35 with a 1-year warranty, so I was amazed at the deal Jared offered.)The service was great all around, and I'll definitley be a customer of Jared in the future. read more

Anywho...we already had my main stone for my engagement ring, just looking at bands... found one.. after searching 10+ stores in Austin...EVEN Americus! (yes, they are lovely, but didn't find what i wanted)...so, i've had my engagement ring a year now, and they have inspected it twice free... and recieved a free appraisal for insurance. ....Now i go in to find wedding bands for me and future husband......their stainless steel mens rings are 50 bucks cheaper than ANY national retailer!! and i found my band $300 cheaper than a few other national retailers....mind you, i have been to 5 other retailers for rings!! ...as of now, i'm going to buy the bands here.. I STILL have to go to Americus, but unless they can beat my price AND style, i'll go back to Jared! They have a wonderful selection, and prices are good compared to Zales, Kay, Helzburg, etc!! read more

Bought an 18 kt white gold band with six diamonds. Bought the warranty for lifetime maintenance. After 6 months took it in for inpsection and refinish. The original finish was brushed. I don't know what their employees did but they completely changed the look of my ring. It was definitely not a brushed finish and where the diamonds are set down in grooves in the band they have somehow managed to create a bevelled, smooshed edge whereas it was a crisp edge before. Difficult to explain but whatever they did changed the appearance for the worse. They are not accepting any responsibility, rather saying that day to day wear caused it and when I requested that the ring be repaired to restore the crisp edges and the original brushed finish I was told (by the manager) that he could not guarantee how my ring would look if they went and did something about it. I was offended and greatly irritated by the lack of concern/understanding, the ridiculous assertions and the unwillingness to accept responsibility communicated by the manager. I will state that I lost my temper and was rude. He ended up saying, "You know what, I am not going to take your ring!" Remember, this is a ring for which I purchased a lifetime maintenance warranty which requires me to submit the ring for inspection every 6 months in order for the warranty to be valid. Repeat, he did not say that he would only do the inspection per the warranty and nothing else (though the warranty cost includes refinish). He did not offer to refund me the cost of the warranty. He pretty much told me to take the ring and leave. Also the ring was special ordered to my size, smaller than a six, in order to avoid having to take a size nine and have it sized down. When the ring came in it was the wrong size and had to be re-sized anyway. I will be going back since I purchased a warranty but I will only be getting an inspection on the diamonds unless they can convince me that they have someone on staff that knows how to refinish fine jewlery. read more

I recently went into Jared at the William cannon location after a phone call to find out how much it would cost to upsize a gold diamond ring. I was told on the phone the price to upsize and their was a charge to clean the soldering mess left on the ring after sizing. That should have been my first red flag. Every jewelry store I have used before cleaning their mess was included. I have a real good polish at home and asked if I could clean it up myself. I was told yes,so I went ahead and took it in. When I got their I was told that they had to clean it and I was stuck having to pay double. Hmmm, I agreed to the price. When I went to pick it up there was oh yeah tax too that they had not mentioned. Wasn't happy feeling lied to, so I let the general manager know my concerns. He was very rude and said oh well. After his bitter attitude, I told him customers should be treated better and he could have cared less. They have no respect for anyone and I do not recommend this jewelry store. So disappointed. By the way I did polish it when I got home and it was dirty. read more

I moved to Austin and was looking for a new jeweler, which is apparently as difficult as finding a good dentist. A LEO diamond in my wedding band chipped because of the engagement ring and needed replacement. To avoid further diamonds to chip I also wanted the two rings soldered together. I went to KAY's and after 2 weeks got the ring back after a very sloppy job had been done. The rings were soldered together asymmetrically and, even worse, the replaced diamond was too small and looked absolutely horrible not fitting in with the other seven diamonds. I can not believe the jeweler was not ashamed to send the ring back in that condition. I was reluctant to bring the ring back to this jeweler to further butcher it and called Jared's instead. I went in the next day and was welcomed in a very friendly manner with the in-house jeweler already waiting for me. It was great to talk to the jeweler himself and tell him what bothered me about the ring and what I wanted done. He assured me that he can do the job and get the ring to look great in 3 days. I picked up my ring today and could not be happier! You can't even tell which diamond was replaced and the rings are soldered together perfectly symmetric! Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the jeweler, tall red-haired man, but I would like to thank him for an amazing job done! I will not go anywhere else to take care of my jewelry! My husband purchased both my engagement ring and wedding ring from Jared back in 2001 from the Tuttle Crossing location in Dublin, OH. After a routine inspection, we learned that my diamond was cracked--apparently this is not an unusual occurance after talking with our insurance company. Anyway, because we had had it inspected it routinely, they replaced it--with a nasty looking diamond. (my original was a "Leo"--very pretty, VS1, G color--no noticeable inclusions.) The diamond they replaced it with had very noticeable black inclusion--right in the center. After talking with my husband, we decided to use it as trade to get a better diamond. We then proceeded to spend an additional $4500 on the new stone, which would be re-set in our original platinum setting. My original band was a Platinum 950 band...they switched it out for a less expensive Platinum 900 band. Yes...they STOLE my original engagement band!! They totally gave me the run around that they couldn't locate a band like mine in Platinum 950--and to this day, I am livid at the fact that a large corporation would STEAL from an individual. My original band had the "weight" that you would typically notice with Platinum...not this one. I am so disappointed, and disgusted in general with the whole experience. The worst part was that they completely acted as though I had no idea what I was talking about, then I showed them my wedding band which is PT 950... SLIME...that is all I have to say for them. Yuck!
