I called ahead to ask about resizing a luxury watch and requested to watch over the resizing. When I arrived, the owner expected me and said that he was the one I spoke to on the phone. I showed him the watch and he took it and went to the back. I thought that he was going to get his tools but when he came back he showed me one link in a bag that he took off. The watch is gold and white gold. It is a standard for all fine jewelry establishments to have a certain protocol in handling pieces. You don't handle them carelessly and put the piece over a glass top without a felt sheet, you should not take them away from the owner's visibility, these are professional courtesies of their profession. I tried to ask for a guarantee that he really did only take one link out. At this point, the owner made several unprofessional, rude and chauvinistic comments to me. I did not raise my voice, I merely inquired and asked and reminded him of my request over the phone, as is my prerogative as his customer. Overall, I left feeling shamed and uncertain about the transaction. Their establishment is fine for anything with no value. Go somewhere else for anything with value. This place and the owner is sexist, have no standards or protocol and no respect for his customers. read more

Not only did they repair my necklace within 1 day (at the best rate I was able to find in town as well), I also purchased a high-quality chain from them which they immediately cut to my desired length and adapted to fit my necklace. Good place to get rings sized. My job requires me to get alot of rings sized so I bring them here. They get them done in a day or two and ive had no complaints with the work. I had a pearl necklace that need a new clasp. They told me it would be $12 to fix it. I said ok. There were two small metal ring attached to my pearl necklace. When I picked it up, they only put part of the clasp and want me to attach the clasp to the very small part of the ring from my old clasp. I spent 2 hrs and asked my husband to help me too. I can not hook the new clasp to that very small ring. I took it back to the store. The owner very rude. First telling me "I" don't know how to put it on (yes...I am woman. trust me I know how to wear my necklace) Then tell me I didn't ask for "TWO" part of clasp yesterday (OK...must be my fault) Then he write another sale order told me it would be another $10 just for the other part of the clasp. I bought a new watch and needed a few links taken out. A few years ago I went to Fast-Fix Jewelry Repairs in the mall so I called them. Their charge was $21.95 to take out the links. I Googled other options and came across this place. I called and Arcardio answered and quoted me $8!!!! Arcardio had me in and out in about 5 minutes, was super friendly, professional and an honest man. He isn't out to gouge people and overcharge them for something that takes a few minutes. Arcadio at Ar-Mar was such a breath of fresh air. I had been to multiple jewelry and watch repair shops around Austin trying to get my Rolex band resized. This involved a simple cutting of the links because the removable links were already gone, but everyone was quoting me huge amounts of money (between $60-$120). My mom has had this watch her whole life and told me that was ridiculous, so I kept looking. I drove down to Ar-Mar and was out of there in 5 minutes and just down $15. I couldn't believe it, I was so relieved. Knowing the amount of time it ended up taking, I am even more frustrated by the other jewelers for over-quoting me so much. As far as I can tell, Ar-Mar is the best place in town to get your watch re-sized, and I really shopped around. A+ read more

NOT a real jewelry repair shop. Maybe they can swap a battery watch or other super easy task that almost anyone can do, but this is not a jewelry repair shop in the sense of an actual craftsman that can TRULY fix jewelry. One old school place up north quoted me 40 bucks to weld a fix onto my necklace, 80 if I wanted it done in less than a month. So I came here hoping for a repair quicker than a month (same day not necessary at all!) for less than 80 bucks. The girl at the counter took my piece in back and brought it out in a minute saying the fix couldn't be done because part of the necklace was broken. I told her I didn't care if it looked a little janky, I just needed a piece welded back on. Nope. The mysterious jewelry repair person didn't come out from the back and offer me creative solutions. All I needed was a small metal bridge welded onto my piece so it could hold a loop. I don't have the tools to do these things, but any person with a soldering iron and some spare metal parts could have welded a workable solution onto this necklace! Obviously the person doing the "repairs" is not actually a trained jewelry craftsman. If one jewelry shop gave me a quote on a fix, I know it can be done. Don't advertise yourself as a "jewelry repair shop" if you have no more jewelry skills than the person working the walmart jewelry desk. read more
