Chips and hot sauce and hot and sour soup...
    Scott T.

It should come as no surprise that Jasmin makes up 100% of the ethnic dining options in tiny Eudora--unless you consider frozen pizzas from the convenience store as ethnic. Tucked away on their tiny, cute little main street it's a decent choice for locals. The food isn't bad, but it isn't great. Trying to make a go of a restaurant of this nature in a small town isn't an easy venture. Serving two types of cuisines out of one kitchen complicates matters. We had the tacos and the special of the day for Chinese. Fresh ingredients had clearly been in preparation for some time and suffered as a result (wilted cilantro is not a pretty thing). Not exactly a memorable lunch unless you count having hot and sour soup and chips and salsa brought to the table at the same time. That elicited grins. I'll give them props on pricing. Both dishes were $4.95 for lunch and it was a *lot* of food. Some of the construction workers that came in looked mighty satisfied on their way out. Service was pleasant, the restaurant was clean and no other complaints. The ambiance is fairly sterile. Too bad they can't perk up the decor a bit--a large Chinese painting on one side of the room and Mexican knick-knacks on the other. Maybe some music? Hoping the locals support it. There are a lot of Mexican and Chinese choices less than ten minutes away in Lawrence so I hope Jasmin keeps working hard at their craft. Certainly a unique experience.

Two great tastes that taste great together!

The fun concept, cozy environment, and really excellent service almost make up for the so-so quality of the food. But really, this is what it's supposed to be-- cheap, greasy, salty food. The Curry Chicken actually had a subtle seasoning that was unexpectedly delicious and the salsa was pretty good. Loved the non-stop flow of iced tea! I wish there were more merging of the two cuisines instead of either/or. What I'd like to see is a Chinese/Mexican Combo combo that really showcases the unique possibilities of this sweet place.

Egg drop soup. Way too thick and not a lot of flavor.

So we have lived here in Eudora for about 2 yrs and yesterday was our first time trying this place out. My neighbors gave it good reviews. We had a party of 6 so we ordered many things both Mexican and Chinese. I do not like to bash mom and pop type restaurants so I will be brief. Things to avoid: egg drop soup, egg rolls (they left huge amounts of oil on plates), fried rice, cashew chicken and free salsa and pork tacos. Things we enjoyed: Crabrangoon, sweet and sour chicken and our server was very pleasant. Hopefully this was just a bad day but we will not be returning.

Triple delight sizzling rice soup. Very delicious ! Visited from california and this soup has got to be the best ive ever had !

4 stars is just right for this small town eatery. Good food good service. I asked for the hot sauce and mixed with mild, good stuff. The chips are hot and fresh. I got off the hiway to eat here, worth the drive.

It was the only truly decent place to get food in Tonganoxie. One thing I loved was that their food was always made fresh. I never purchased food from them that have been sitting. First of all the location is in a pretty decent spot I wish it were more visible from the street. It's situated on an incline and it's right near a highway so if you're going over the highway, you won't be able to see it very well. That's the only bad thing about it. The decor inside is very culturally present. The staff are extremely friendly and it got to a point that they knew who my mother and I were considering at that time we were one a few African-Americans who lived in the area. I hadn't been there since my mom passed away in 2019. I was on work related business and I looked over and seen it and decided I would stop there before heading home. It was like coming home again. They didn't quite remember me at first because it has been seven years since I've lived in Tonganoxie, however they were just as friendly and sweet as ever before and oh my God the food was hoodoggie good!!!! I ordered the shrimp chow Mei fun and it was absolutely superb. Cooked fresh and flavorful and filling. This place is one of the biggest regrets of me moving away from Tonganoxie. I wish there was a Chinese restaurant in Lawrence that tasted this good. If you're ever passing through the Tonganoxie area give rice house a try you won't be disappointed.

(And that's not a typo folks) They're light and crispy and have an abundance of Salmon in them! Lucky's is also known for their dumplings and especially the Chicken Masala and the traditional pork. The Masala Is just a burst of flavor in an incredible Asian Indian fusion. The traditional dumplings come with both a Ponzu and spicy mustard sauce and like the rangoons, they're perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warming on the inside. I washed everything down with a refreshing Fall-oma (mezcal, tequila, spiced pear) and "Rich Orchard Affair" (gin, spiced rum). The waitress was extremely nice and she took the time to go over all the restaurant week items to try and tempt our palletes. The restaurant is easy to get to, It has a nice easy going atmosphere with tables or booths available along with a little bar you can sit at. The place is always clean whenever I've been in

You do have…read moreto pull off of a busy road straight into the lot, but it's easy to find in the strip of stores and there were plenty of spaces. By the time I grabbed our food and headed back out, the front spots had already opened up again. We did two lunch specials for around $20 total, which feels like a steal for how much food you get and how good it was. We ordered the Chicken with Cashew and the General Tso's lunch specials, both came with soup and a side. The cashew chicken was seriously incredible. A lot of places overload this dish with veggies until it turns into chaos, but this one was balanced with the right mix of ingredients and is easily one of my new favorites in KC. Only bummer: hardly any cashews. Still delicious, but I wanted a little more cashew love. Crab rangoons were hot and crispy with a solid filling even after a bit of a drive home. The fried rice had great flavor, and the steamed white rice was bouncy and soft, not that kind with crispy dry edges. Both soups were spot on, and THANK YOU for including wonton strips. A lot of places skip them and it really can make or break egg drop soup for me. General Tso's had great flavor, but the chicken pieces were a little big and it wasn't very spicy, even though we didn't order it no spicy. Not a dealbreaker, just something to know if you want that classic kick. Inside is clean and cute with tables for about 8 to 10 small groups, the front desk is toward the back, and everyone was kind and helpful. As an Elite, I also loved seeing their Yelp pride around the restaurant. Overall, super solid lunch specials and I'll absolutely be back!!
