I have never been disappointed at Jasmine. We eat there regularly. The lunch buffet is huge - tons of choices: pu-pu offerings, noodle dishes, soups, veg sushi, desserts, rices, fresh fruit... So much food! I have also been for 'drinks & apps' in the bar, a large party in the back room, and casual dinner from the menu. All experiences were good. This was my fave place when Johnny worked there. Now terrible service at the bar. They don't pay attention. Long wait. Wrong orders. One of the barmaids tonight had a very small tank top on which I think as a server myself should not be allowed when serving food. Not to mention if it is OK with the board of health. As far as I have been taught there is a no armpit or exposed feet rule. We have been very disappointed the last few times we've been there. What a shame! Food is great but nothing else. read more

Great local place to grab a drink and sushi with friends. I recommend the vodka mai tais and sushi. We sat at the bar and despite it not being busy , the male bartender took some time to ask if I wanted a drink. Which if one is sitting at the bar , you likely want a drink. I had to flag the guy down to place a food order. Thankfully the food was quick and tasty. This place get's four stars for the sushi and sashimi. The other part of the restaurant that I've tried, namely the buffet, leaves a lot to be desired. Don't know, maybe it's my fault for expecting something other then the stereotypical buffet fare, but I was extremely disappointed. As an aside, why would you have a Chinese buffet in a Sushi restaurant, makes about as much sense as having German options at an Italian restaurant. Well....we were seated and then we waited for an additional 30 min for our waitress to come to take our first order of drinks and apps. Ummm...it wasn't busy!! hellloooo! She hastily took our order of drinks and apps and she was about to take off when we stopped her and said we wanted to order for dinner too.. seeing how it took a half for just drinks. My first few forays here were fantastic. The last time, not so much. I've always raved that the fried food at Jasmine was much better than most Chinese places. The chicken fingers were always a lighter batter and had more chicken than batter. Not this time...75%batter! And the waitress was WAY too intrusive. She asked personal questions regarding the house we were talking about buying, after overhearing is when she walked by our table. While their sushi is very good, I don't like their Chinese food much. The pork fried rice is probably the worst I've ever had. They do have the hibachi grills (cook the food in front of you), and the food there is pretty good. I would recommend sitting there or getting the sushi. Skip the menu Chinese. read more

This is worst hibachi place I have ever been to. Made a reservation for 8, didn't get seated until 8:30. Waited an hour for our drinks and to order our food. The people here wouldn't serve us alcoholic drinks even though we are sober and 21. I'm so angry and i would give it 0 stars. Food is over priced for what it is and our server was a complete asshole who admitted she was also drunk and that's why she was fucking up. Will never come here again. We went for the lunch buffet today, I was totally surprised how big, clean and so beautiful Jasmine is. There must have been 100 different things to try from pupu platter items, fried bread dough, pork tenderloin, best crab Rangoon I ever tasted, vegetable mei fun - delectable, sushi which we did not try but looked good, all kinds of desserts consisting of cakes, eclairs, creme puffs, puddings, jello and four different flavors of ice-cream. Oh my God, I was in heaven checking everything out. We went up twice to try many of the items, but we simply could not eat anymore. Our service was good, but I can't say the same about the food. The menu is too large for them to really be good at one thing. The sushi was probably the best thing we tried. The pad thai was awful. I can't believe they can even call it Pad Thai. My mom got tempura vegetables and they came out as these huge fried things (looked like whole fried carrots from the outside!). Really unattractive presentation, so bad you couldn't tell what the vegetables were. Drinks were hit or miss. I had a very good martini, but my mom had what she called "the worst drink she ever tasted"- one of their specialty drinks which was fruit juice and sour mix mainly. She sent it back and got a martini. I'm not sure I'd go back, I much prefer going to Kaizen in Sturbridge for Sushi and I think I'll skip the Thai food until I'm back in Boston. read more

In the hibachi field, I would have to say Jasmines is the best. Although I only go for the hibachi, Jasmines also offers a full sushi menu and Chinese. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Drinks are good (I always pay close attention to drinks). Their prices also great; you get way more than you pay for. I think lobster is $25? (which comes with soup salad, vegetables, rice, shrimp app and ice cream). My only complaint is that it's a plaza...weird read more

Ehhh...better than fair, but not quite good. The sushi was a bit above average, but their other, Chinese food is nothing amazing. I've had a wide variety of their food because I work very close. I also tried their lunch buffet. It has a nice selection but still very mediocre food. The buffet and dining room attendants were attentive, but they seemed to hang out end congregate at their service station instead of filling waters and prebussing tables. The takeout staff is rude. My husband and I went to Jasmine's, without reservations/ last minute idea, for New Year's Eve. We chose the buffet at $14.95 which offered plenty of selections, trays were continuously refilled, as they tried to keep up with hundreds of customers at one time. Our guesstimate is they can seat /service at least 200 customers at once. Our first impression was very positive in how this space, formerly an I-party store was renovated and subdivided into 4 distinct sections - a large sports bar to the left (upon entering) / off lobby, a separate dining room for hibachi meals, a sushi bar on opposite side of long hallway and 2 to 3 separate dining areas, along the hallway, with 4 island buffet plus salad/fruit island and dessert island at end of hallway. I would suspect this location (between TJ Maxx and a grocery store) offers the amount of space they needed (for this sort of layout) at a good rate. By being located in a small plaza, parking becomes less of an issue as is the case at some stand-alone restaurants. I have seen this set-up in Boston and other cities. Lastly, the plaza is no more than 1/4 mi. from Mass. Pike entrance and near several hotels in town. Being New Year's Eve (when many people decide on going out for supper) and given their well-earned reputation to date, this place was incredibly packed. People waiting in sports bar, along the hallway and in lobby (even some outside) for their tables with an estimated hour's wait. The staff managed people waiting for tables (several dozen at any given time) as well as they could, by walking into other areas and yelling out names. No beepers or any type of announcement system in place - room for improvement here. Our wait ended up being only half hour. We would definitely return to this place, when more quiet, and explore other sections of this restaurant. This is only the second restuarant in Auburn serving Asian cuisine. In our opinion, this place offers a wider menu and fresher food. read more

Who does not like Chinese food? But more to the point; who has not been disappointed in the past with bland food, dry rice, etc when you have gone to or have ordered pick up from a Chinese food restaurant? Well...I am here to tell you that the food here at Jasmine is DELICIOUS! To be fair, we have only ordered take out and appetizers. But that is what we typically order at any Chinese restaurant. Everything that we have had has been tops to satisfy/exceed our standard. We order pork fried rice (moist, and is not just rice with pork) chicken fingers (crispy and the chicken is moist), boneless ribs (very thin and barely any fat), beef teriyaki (lean, moist, and flavorful), chicken wings (good balance between flavor, moisture, dryness, and are not chewy), and pork strips. We have ordered from here many times now since moving to Charlton 3 years ago. When we have had people over they have ordered other things like crab ran goo, and they have all agreed that everything was delicious! It is a 15 minute trip from our home to Jasmine, along the way we pass a number of other Chinese options, but 30 minutes for a round trip is just worth it because of how good the food is. The people have always been very pleasant. We will someday try dining in, perhaps for the buffet which I have heard all good things about too. Very satisfied! read more

The service was decent and everyone was especially kind to my young toddler. But the food was mediocre (surprisingly, the items from the Japanese part of the menu were better than our Chinese items - I've usually found it to be the opposite at other restaurants that offer both Japanese and Chinese menus). There are no changing tables in either the men's or women's bathrooms. Unfortunately all of us had tummy aches later in the evening. When I called for a reservation, the woman on the phone had all the charm of a pith viper. She was rude and pushy, practically refusing our request for 10. Because no one else had seating when we wanted, we wound up going anyway. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy, yet it still took almost 15 minutes for them to pepare our table. (We did not sit at a hibachi, but a regular table.) The sushi was passable, but nothing spectacular. The same for the cocktails. I do love this place, for many reasons. I have hosted a few parties here and my family and friends were very impressed with how much the staff cared about the theme of the party and how personable they were with everyone. The food is always phenomenal. I have never been let down going to the Buffett. I can be very picky with crab Rangoon's and Lo meins and they just simply have the best! We try to go in the weekends. We went here for a birthday party and it was great. The appetizers were standard Chinese fare, dumplings, egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, chicken wings and were all very tasty and hot. There was also some sushi rolls which while I am not exactly sure which ones they were, they were quite tasty too. The teppanyaki with soup and salad was very good. I had steak and shrimp with fried rice and it was cooked to perfection (steak medium rare). The chefs put on a very fun and interactive show and seem to have a great time doing it. My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Thursday. We have been coming here since they opened. At first they were great! But sadly they are a far cry from the restaurant they were before Service was poor and food was average My main complaint would be cleanliness. The water tastes like chemicals and I'm not talking about town water or city water taste... the water and sodas here taste dirty and like chemicals.. can't imagine what their ice machine looks like and god knows when it was last cleaned The drinks... equally disgusting The front door has been broken for over a year now you would think they could just spring for the replacement glass. It took 30 minutes to get our bill. We could not get our waiter to bring the bill so we could leave, nor would the other two waitresses bring our bill when we asked. Surprised to see this is at 3 1/2 stars. Some of the worst chinese take out I have had. Friend's said they got good Chinese take out in Auburn. Only 2 restaurants in Auburn. I choose based on yelp rating. I choose wrong. Worse take out than empire village in sturbridge which I won't go back it is so bad. It appears yelp bases it's rating more heavily on more recent reviews so I needed to adjust for some recent 5 stars. Really??? I am basing on take out only though.Maybe they have good dine in and sushi. If you want good sushi though in central mass you need to go to Kaizan in Sturbridge. We've kept our takeout selections squarely in the Chinese side of the menu but have been very happy. I always judge Chinese by the ran goons and theirs pass with flying colors. Here you have a good choice of Chinese/American, a little bit of Thai, sushi, and a hibachi grill. I've been here twice and both times have been pleased. Any dish with beef will have good chunks of beef rather than the sometimes thin and fatty kind you tend to get at cheaper Chinese places. Their vegetables are always steamed just right, so nothing soggy and nothing undercooked. Their alcoholic beverages are probably the best deal, as they are on the lower end and are very strong. Lastly, I had the sashimi at my last visit, and I was very impressed. The presentation was good, and had nice extra touches like julienned cucumber, lemon slices, and pickled ginger that was not artificially colored pink. The fish was fresh, did not taste or smell fishy at all, and the sushi chefs were fast and clearly knew what they were doing. The prices are not unreasonable, but nothing to rave about which is why this review gets four stars. It's clean, the waitstaff is as good as it gets when there is a language barrier, and the food has not disappointed yet after a couple of visits. read more

First thoughts upon entering restaurant; wow, this place is bigger and nicer than it looks on the outside! I was instantly excited to try their food once my whole perception of the restaurant had changed from "just another chinese restaurant" to "oooh its a fancy chinese restaurant". My significant other couldn't decided what to have for our late lunch/early dinner b/c we wanted a little bit of everything. Most of the people around us chose the lunch buffet. We settled with the lunch buffet AND ordering 2 rolls of sushi. I can't recall the names of the rolls but we thought they were ok, nothing breathe taking. The lunch buffet was the same. My wife and I decided to have the buffet on New Years eve as we did a year ago . Last year was excellent and the food and seating was very good. This year was very disappointing.
