The food was great but the service was terrible. We did not get drink refills or was not checked on after the waiter brought our food out. He would walk pass our table and completely ignore us. It took 30 minutes to get our bill. We could not get our waiter to bring the bill so we could leave, nor would the other two waitresses bring our bill when we asked. Food was ok but I had the worst waiter. I could swear he didn't say one word to me. When I sat down, he just put a napkin in front of me and walked away, I guess he assumed I wanted the lunch buffet. He didn't ask what I wanted to drink or what I wanted to eat. He also didn't check back to see if everything was ok or if I wanted anything else. Usually my Jasmine experiences are pretty good, tonight was not. The server spoke little English, and messed up our order. When we got the wrong food, he insisted it was right, despite a bowl of rice not being a teppanyaki plate. He eventually brought a menu over for us to point at it and rushed off to fix it. No one ever came by for drink refills, and our appetizers were brought out with our meals instead of before. There weren't even many people there! We got no apologies or comps for the massive mix-ups. :( I guess it's back to Bauhinia. The drive is worth it. read more

My sons and I love this place. I have a picky eater, and he gets the buffett and never a complaint. I love sushi and Jasmine does a great job! I have not had their Habachi yet. but I have heard good things from friends. I even took my Mother there for the buffet and she really liked it. I have gone several times and each time I have been pleased with the food and wait time. There is a large Bar with a large TV. a seperate room with Habachi tables, a very large dinning room, suhi bar, and a large buffett. Don't judge this place by the outside, it is very nice inside and alot bigger than it looks. It's too bad it is in such a run down plaza. My wife and I decided to have the buffet on New Years eve as we did a year ago . Last year was excellent and the food and seating was very good. This year was very disappointing. First of all, upon entering, people leaving were telling us that it is very cold inside. It was very cold. In fact, the hostesses were wearing gloves, stocking hats and jackets. I have been coming to Jasmine for years and I have never been so disappointed until my visit last night. The waiter from the beginning was watching us closely and it was noticeable. We received our drinks and food, and when we asked for waters with our drinks, the waiter immediately asked how we were going to pay. We answered cash and he said "good" and walked away. When we asked for the check, he came and wrapped our food for us abruptly. He then watched us closely again as we finished our drinks and got our wallets out to pay. I would admit we laughed a bit but I felt uncomfortable, as if the waiter thought we would walk out on the bill as we weren't fitting in with the other crowd. Took the wife and kids (4 and 2) to Jasmine for teppanyaki tonight had had an OK experience. The food was pretty good - nothing amazing but no duds either. The teppanyaki chef seemed a little ill-prepared for the job as some of the presentation was sloppy but he seemed pleasant and got my kids smiling which is a plus. The food tasted great and the portion sizes were decent. The big downside was the service. Our waitress seemed bothered by our requests for an extra set of chop sticks and we practically had to beg to get refills on our drinks. When it came time to get the bill she was nowhere to be found for at least 20 minutes - an absolute eternity with the kids starting to get bored. One of the other servers offered to find her but we didn't see him either for a while. Finally, I walked up to one of the presumed managers and asked him for the bill. He quickly located the girl but when she finally came, there wasn't even a pen to sign the credit card slip so I had to chase down another server to get one. Talk about frustrating... I know the place just opened and we'll be trying it again to see if this is the norm or just them trying to work out the kinks. We have high hopes that we'll have another option besides Yong Shing in Auburn for decent Chinese/Japanese food. read more

Will say we only give it 2 stars because scorpion bowls are pre-made... Salad was totally drenched in salad dressing... Not once did anyone ask if we were in fact enjoying our meal... My hubby and I have been here twice, and overall it's lackluster and disappointing. The decor and setting is very dim/dark, which I didn't care for but the hubs thought was nice. The service felt very rushed both times, which neither of us liked. The food is very hit or miss. I had the Pad Thai and it was flavorless and the noodles were a gross, mushy mess. My husband got sushi the first time we went and he really liked it. The second time we went he got the chicken with garlic sauce. It was disgusting. Neither one of us could eat our meals and the manager took care of our bill and apologized. We won't return as there are much better options in the area. read more

There you'll find the nigiri and maki made to order and fresh with many choices and with a huge selection of steam table and chilled foods to select from. Here at the Jasmine at $9.99 lunch buffet, I found two maki selections premade and sitting there that were bland. The fish filling on one was warm although the plate was on ice and it tasted like catfood. The spring rolls were obviously made from frozen having mushy cabbage and an overall void of any flavor. The worst that I have ever had. Not enjoyable. .not edible. The hot dishes were gross, mushy, overcooked, sitting too long, bland and subpar. The signs were not positioned properly above the meals so I ate something that I wouldn't have otherwise. Vegetarian selections were only two offered. Our table leg was broken, literally. We had to change tables. The place is worn and past it's prime. We have been coming here off and on for the last three years. This will be the last time. A huge floor fan was blowing onto the two urinals in the men's room for some unexplained reason. It felt like I was standing in a typhoon. I ordered the chicken and shrimp teppanyaki. I expected tender chicken and large tender shrimp grilled and seasoned with salt and maybe some butter and I would dip them into the sauces provided. What I got was extremely tiny pieces of shrimp and chicken that tasted like they were already precooked and then grilled and slathered with teriyaki sauce. They were very tough in texture, like chewing cardboard. I know what I got was not teppanyaki chicken or shrimp. I have eaten it in many Japanese steak restaurants. I brought this up to the waiter and he says that is teppanyaki. I think he wanted to convince me so I would not return the food back to the kitchen. I was not happy with the food. I ordered the Koko cocktail that said it contained fresh coconut water and was served in a coconut shell. There was no coconut water, was NOT served in a coconut shell, was FULL of ice, and was extremely weak. I am easily effected by alcohol and can say there was no alcohol in this cocktail or very, very little. I ordered the Enchanted Specialty sushi roll for $13.95 that was supposed to contain tuna. salmon, cucumber, avocado, and mango. Well, when it came out, it was a regular spicy tuna roll ($5) with some thick mango sauce drizzled over it, yet I was still charged $13.95 for a $5 roll. This is not good quality sushi...it's the fast food version of sushi. Also, I went in around 3:00 and the place was pretty empty, yet they still tried to rush me to order and to leave. I have dined and ordered take out at Jasmines several times without any bad experiences. Their food always tastes fresh, even the lunch buffet and they have a very good variety of asian cuisine. My personal favorite off the dinner menu is the Nabeyaki Udon. The place is clean with nice decor and layout inside also. The restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside. Ok so I wrote a previous great review for this place. The food is always good but it's such a hit or miss. I've given it multiple chances, wanted to believe it wasn't the food that was getting me sick and have now gotten sick probably 6 or 7 times total out of the 15 or so times I've gone there. I've gone and been completely fine before. Last time I went with 3 friends and we all got sick. I've gone and had only one friend get sick and myself be fine. My other friend is sworn off the place and Chinese in general since she got terrible food poisoning and has never returned. So I know 5 people, 6 including myself who have gotten sick or food poisoning from the place. Jasmine please clean up your kitchen or practice proper sanitary behavior. read more

We visited Jasmines today for a birthday celebration. We had a pu pu platter & pork fried rice. The platter was good except the chicken finger coating was raw and mushy inside. Not edible in my book. The pork fried rice had a musty bean sprout taste. No other taste at all. It was terrible so we sent it back and of course it came back hot in a dish but the exact same taste. I'm thinking they heated it up and put it in a new bowl. Horrible. The bartenders were very staunch. Lacking in the happy bartender category. The drinks were sub par, my scorpion bowl crazy small. We went there for a birthday party and there was over 20 of us. While waiting for everyone, we had Mai Tai's at the bar and they were fantastic. When we were seated it took a long time for the waitress to come to us and take our orders and get drinks. We waited awhile to get 2nd round of drinks so we ordered 2 at a time. Dont let the mini mall exterior fool you - this is place can get rocking! Definitely go there for the teppanyaki; you'll get seated in front of a large u shaped table that seats about 15 people and has two large skillet stoves. Each party gets their own chef, and all of them there are hilarious! They will be singing, dancing and performing food tricks the whole night. For those over 21, they usually bring out squirt bottles of sake and have people catch shots in their mouth from the bottle; usually more ends up on the shirt but its great! The food is pretty standard teppanyaki, nothing too special but also not that expensive either for the amount of food you get (I always have to doggy bag my entree). If you dont reserve a table, there's also a decent sized bar with multiple TVs to watch sports and grab a mai tai (awesome here) while you wait. Great addition to the town read more

My absolute favorite place to go! the service has always been really great, very print in taking my order as well as putting food on the table quickly! They are polite and check back a few times as well! Very clean and well designed place! I've noticed that the bathrooms are especially kept up, as well as the carpet! BIG BONUS! They also have a Buffett during lunch hours, as well as a sushi bar (a little more expensive). For the cost of each plate, you do get a very large amount of food, which is always a plus, especially with Chinese food! Definitely a must try!! read more

We were out in the Auburn area and asked for a recommendation. 3 people promptly recommended Jasmine. The restaurant is in a small strip mall. Much to our surprise the small storefront footprint opened to a huge restaurant with hibachi grills and a sushi bar. We were in time for the lunch buffet and were very pleased with the offerings. The serving area was always being refilled They had a couple of sushi items and an array of soup choices as well as a heavenly roasted pork tenderloin. This was a large buffet. We were pleased. They also had a sushi bar-I'd love to try that some time. We will definitely come back! read more

I've ordered via Door Dash a few times and have found the sushi to be good. The crab rangoons are exceptional, they are not the triangle kind you get at lesser restaurants. The chicken fingers are good too. I've never actually visited the restaurant, so I can't speak to any of that, thus the three stars.
