The food is good but there is always a strong chemical smell around the salad bar and the tea machines. They keep the bucket solution and wipe down rags right next to the drink machines and salad bar. Shouldn't have that so close to the food or drinks. I was really disappointed in the restaurant. The tea dispenser was empty. The restaurant was not clean. The tables were not wiped properly. We bounced around to three other tables, but ended up cleaning one ourselves. The sandwich that I ordered was supposed to be hot, it wasn't. The women's bathroom was even more embarrassing. It looked like it did not have attention in quite some time, the smell in the hall leading to the restroom is overwhelming and has been there for quite some time. Cleanliness does not seem to be their priority. We went around the 3 o'clock hour. There was not a rush or a crowd, so it wasn't like the personnel was overwhelmed or anything by orders. We went to Jason's deli on 2/16/2021 to get a lunch and to get warm during the ice storm. Alison our cashier was down right rude to us. Having a small toddler that's constantly ripping of my mask she was not understanding at all. When i asked her a question of what sides to they have, She abruptly said "pull your mask up" never answered my question. She was touching her face and her mask multiple times and had didn't even sanitize her hands after touching her face prior to taking our card for payment. We get to the table and realize we didn't get our toddlers milk we ordered with the kids grilled cheese. Looking down at the reception she said no drink when we clearly stated milk. Jason's was pretty busy and we are completely understanding of the stress between the water boil advisory and power out all over. It would of been nice if she was understanding. We recently ordered salads to go, which were made quickly and tasted great at first! It wasn't until mid-bite did I see little eyes looking back at me and antennas moving. I called to talk to a manager who refunded our payment, but informed me that I am not the first to have this problem. Corpus is currently under a boil notice so they can not properly wash their lettuce. Why would you continue to serve salads if they can not be prepped properly?!
