This is one of my go to places to eat in Evansville. I usually get the salad bar because it has a lot of good options on it. The only down side to me is they got rid of the cucumber dill dressing, it was the best. I would give them 5 stars if they still had it. They make really good sandwiches too. I like The Papa Joe and the Deli Cowboy. You can get the best of both worlds with the manager's half-sandwich special. For starters the restaurant has an awkward layout, you enter and walk the parameter of the seating area to get to the counter, don't be fooled the few offerings on the actual menu board are not everything. You have to use a carryout menu to see everything they offer, not sure why then you take your number and pick a seat. Had the salad bar which left much to be desired, after the mandatory show your receipt for a salad plate I realized there was no protein besides bacon bits and hard-boiled eggs, you have to purchase it separately. The whole process of returning your dirty salad plate to the same people making your food so you can get a new one must be a health code violation. Jason's Deli is not cheap, once you purchase a side of protein and a drink you're looking at the price of a sit down restaurant. Had a Beef-eater french dip, it was good but hard to dip as it was apparently quickly assembled. All the meat was in the center of the long bun, and mashed to get it to close, so the bottom was blown out and sides mashed too flat to absorb the dip. I moved the meat to the ends, and made two out of it. It was still very good. It was my only experience out of 3 visits like that. So it still gets 4 stars. read more

Jason's deli has always been a favorite of mine due to the food and general atmosphere. Today I especially felt obligated to share my love due to the great experience with the manager. I ordered online through the app for takeout and when he was told by the cashier that she couldn't find my order, he immediately got to work on it and offered us complimentary drinks and cookies. It wasn't a big deal to me at all that they started my order when I arrived rather than when I ordered, but I appreciate his concern and care for me, and his efforts to speed up our order! read more

Great place for lunch! It is always busy, so there are times you have to wait on food. Very large dining room...noisy. Food is consistently good. I was not impressed I went there once with some friends and I highly doubt I'll go back. The food wasn't bad but, the pricing for what you get was really ridiculous. Cheap low quality meats. I had the Mufaletta. It was served hot (which it shouldn't be). There was not much meat and most of that was ham. One slice of genoa. No mortadella in sight. Just a typical franchise cutting corners & masquerading as something it's not, a quality restaurant. read more

We ordered as a group for work. We were shorted 3 drinks. I also ordered the nutty salad, which is supposed to come with nuts, dried cranberries, and pumpkin seeds. My salad had none of that for $10. Just when I thought I couldn't love Jason's more, I am proved wrong. I am talking the Gourmet Pimento Cheese sandwich. Fair warning, I am a huge pimento cheese fan so it's difficult for me to eat anything pimento cheese and not like it. That being said, this thing is out of this world delicious. The pimento cheese is made with three kinds of cheese (including jalapeno jack!) and is just fantastic. It's not too mayonnaise-y which is one thing that can "ruin" (very slightly) pimento cheese for me. It's dressed with tomato and lettuce and the ancient grain bun is so so good. I see where they now have a pretty extensive (relatively speaking) vegetarian menu and while there are many things on there I'd like to try, I'll be hard pressed to choose anything but this pc sandwich. My partner had the Bigger Better BLT which is a blt with avocado and fried egg and really liked it as well. Bottom line... the folks at Jason's will be seeing me more often. read more
