    Side salad

Jason's Deli is delicious! I ordered the Amy-O Turkey sandwich, spicy seafood gumbo and a side salad. The sandwich has turkey, lettuce, tomato, red onions, avocado, mustard and pepper jack. One of the best cold turkey sandwiches in town. The interior is clean and spacious. Service fast and professional. TC took my order and did a great job of explaining the salad bar and drink process. If are wanting a good salad and sandwich check out Jason's Deli!

Oh how I've missed THEE Jason's Deli. The Santa Fe chicken sandwich is one of my favorite, along with the California club and so many of the other sandwiches, pastas and probably the best salad bar in the world. Why is there not a Jason's deli in Seattle??? I fell in love with you in Denver, and this weekend. I stumbled across one in Omaha. And there's a few here too. if you have not tried Jason's deli, do yourself a favor and take it from me the Santa Fe chicken or the California club, and get the fruit and whatever this dip is oh my. The fruit dip it's creamy and sweet. I'm sure it's probably not good for me but it's good for my mouth.

Caprese panini with mac & cheese

In the past a meal at Jason's Deli has been a bit chancey-- sometimes everything looks clean and neat, and sometimes it doesn't. Today was one of the days when they were spot on. They reinstated their salad bar and it looked to me like the tables are a little further apart than they used to be. Staff weren't wearing masks but I was. Bookguy was a little disappointed that the salad bar wasn't an all you can eat salad bar anymore, but that can probably be blamed on Covid. Nevertheless he was completely satisfied with his lunch, picking from many favorites that he's always had in the past. I decided not to do salad bars anymore due to Covid. Too many people near the sneeze guard or under the sneeze guard. I chose a caprese panini and mac & cheese as a side. Fresh mozzarella, organic spinach, Roma tomatoes, pesto aioli, herb focaccia made the sandwich delicious. The mac and cheese was exactly like Kraft in the blue box that you make at home. If you like Kraft, you'll love this but for me it was just meh. Our lunch was just that- a satisfactory lunch.

I ordered the Hummus Stacked Bowl with Lamb. As soon as you're seated, you're served warm pita bread to start. Each table has olive oil, salt, and pepper available for dipping, which made for a simple but delicious beginning to the meal. The pita was warm, fluffy, and had outstanding texture and flavor. Despite the restaurant being busy during its first few hours of opening, the food arrived surprisingly quickly. The presentation alone was enough to make me hungry, but the aroma of the lamb had me ready to dig in immediately. The hummus, which serves as the foundation of the dish, was silky smooth and velvety when paired with the olive oil. The grilled squash and onions added a wonderful contrast of textures, blending perfectly with the warm ingredients while still maintaining a satisfying bite. Their seasoning was spot on. Bright red cherry tomatoes brought a fresh, vibrant element that tied everything together beautifully. The bowl also came with additional pita and seasoned pita chips, adding even more variety to the meal. Overall, Meddys absolutely exceeded my expectations. For a restaurant that had only been open a few hours, the food, service, and execution were impressive across the board. I was blown away and can't wait to return and work my way through the rest of their beautiful menu.

It supports the ingredients well, and has a good flavor. The regular crust is also quite nice, a little chewy/springy, with crispy edges and soft middle. The toppings are vibrantly flavorful and the menu has a good set of topping-combinations to start with, or build your own. I was kind of bummed they forgot the fresh basil on the Calabrese this last time I went. But the other time was fantastic, when we tried the Grandma, a build-your-own with sardines (both on regular crust), a side of meatballs, and a side salad. The meatballs are perfect: soft, great flavor, good size, with fresh tasting marinara and fresh basil. I loved the little, tangy, salty sardines! Wonderful, and they didn't make the pizza soggy. The salad dressing is also good--simple, delicious, tangy. There are also a selection of Italian sodas and Mexican Coca-Cola. I tried one of the Sicily lemon sodas and it was delightful--the aromatics of the lemons shine beautifully through the velvety fizziness. I enjoyed the ambiance here, too. Just a few small tables along a wall, with bench seating on one side and chairs on the other side. The big windows letting in plenty of natural light are so nice! And all of our servers have been so patient while we decided, answered questions, and even helped us find the perfect combination for the day! I always appreciate great customer service. One caveat: I don't know why, but the ladies' bathroom door was incredibly hard to open/close! I actually just stood outside the door so my girlfriend could use the bathroom in peace! But it wasn't like that when I went before with my husband and one of our sons, so I don't think it's an always issue. But a sometime issue like this is worth looking into fixing, because my friend would not have been able to close/open the door, and I can imagine other, weaker ladies, grandmas, etc., having a problem, too.

The service was friendly, and while our order took a bit longer than expected (it was a busy Saturday), we didn't mind. They even gave us free cookies for the wait, which was such a nice touch. As for the food... it was delicious! We ordered an XL for two people and it was more than enough. The sauce was flavorful, and we especially loved the garlic knots. We'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu!
