Ordering was a cinch! Built my own sandwich, Pastrami on toasted Marbled-Rye bread with mustard and pickles! Paired with a Side-Salad from the Salad Bar which had 3 kinds of greens, mixed, romaine, and spinach, green olives, shredded cheese, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and croutons are all I put on my salad and passed on the other 9 salad items available! Topped my lunch off with a Lemonade! Food was exceptionally delicious, prepared with care, and served exactly as I requested! Open space ambience with comfortable tables and booths! A-ok! Ma surprised me with a cup of tortilla soup which was tasty and spicier than I expected (based on my parents' proclivities). It was delightful to open the bag to find 2 packs of crackers, a spoon, and a mint; I know my parents didn't request any of that. They ran a couple errands between lunch and seeing me, but the soup was still warm and well sealed (some containers lend themselves to unfortunate mess). Nice chunks of tomatoes/peppers and corn, didn't notice any decorative tortilla strips but it's not impossible they sank in the wait time. I should have stirred it up before eating as all the chicken hid at the bottom. Broth's on the creamier side of tortilla soups I've had and was altogether very tasty. I peeked at the menu earlier and this cup serving is $6 before tax/tip, More expensive than Subway with better ingredients and friendlier service. They have a reasonably varied deli menu which is balanced with affordability and comfortable predictability. When we dine in at their request, my boomer parents have lots of company. It's at one of my least favorite intersections in town, but there is always ample parking. read more

Serves up good food at descent prices! I always enjoy coming to Jason's Deli because I know I'm going to get good food at low prices. This was no exception. My wife ordered the baked potato and got the potato that ate Cleveland! Butter, cheese, and bacon... it was enough for her and my oldest to share! My youngest got the chicken nuggets and chips... he kept talking about how good they were! I got the muffuletta and a cup of tortilla soup. The soup was just a bit spicy with great flavor and the muffuletta was just a 1/4 of a sandwich but huge and very tasty! The space was big, clean and service was fast! The guy bringing our food was a little less then brilliant (insert tons of sarcasm here) and argued with my wife about if they had put the extra bacon on her potato... it was pretty obvious that if that was extra the normal was none! All I ordered was a cup of soup to go? There was no one in front of me on the to go side and even the dine in side was empty. I had been waiting over 15 minutes while the Mgr, Danny I believe is his name along with the other cashier and 1 of the cooks were doing nothing but joking around. I asked how much longer it would be as I had already dined in and used my entire lunch time. The Mgr walked away from me at the counter and stated we do have other orders! I have always loved going to Jason's Deli for their all you can eat salad bar. During COVID-19 they make it for you. They did a really great job at building it. There is still inside dining available but it's all spaced apart. I also had a vegetarian pasta dish that's not on their menu that had zucchini, Sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts with a light olive oil sauce & grated Parmesan in top & it was delicious. I was skeptical when my wife suggested a re-try of Jason's but thankfully my expectations were surprised and surpassed! I hadn't been here in several years. My wife dined for lunch recently at the New Braunfels location and stated how yummy her Reuben had been. Upon our San Marcos arrival, plenty of parking and upon entering could immediately recognize upgrades in decor, menu and moreover service. Several staff ready and waiting to our order, able to describe and explain questions. All very courteous and polite. The server brought meal to our table. Soups are VERY good and a cup just the right size if you having a sandwich regular. I had a steak po boy, new item and was very tasty, salads was fresh with delicious garnish. Came here in the evening. Restaurant is spacious and clean. Prices are affordable and meal options are great! Food: Ordered the Manager's Special with a Club Royale sandwich and a side salad. Food never disappoints! Was able to create my own salad and ate while my sandwich was delivered. I opted for the blue chips and fresh salsa since I love the flavor so much. Salad was nice and fresh and salad bar was kept nice and clean. The only thing I noticed was that the plates seem to be overused and are discolored and seem to be worn out. I had to scratch mine with my finger to make sure the spec I saw wasn't a piece of food missed by the dishwasher. The employee was nice and asked if I wanted another plate. Didn't need one. Overall food taste was great and preparation time was quick. Drinks: Self serve area is always clean and easy to use. Sugars and other options are always stocked and the Splenda option for teas is always a plus! Service: Since arriving in the restaurant, we are always greeted by someone. For starters, every single employee in this building is extremely friendly and just all around amazing... but the cashier who took our order, Jacqueline, was so accommodating and patient and if I had cash on me I probably would've have tipped her everything in my wallet. I'm spending a week at Texas State for work, and yesterday we ordered in from Jason's Deli for lunch. This review does not address the store location, customer service, or delivery policies/experience, as I did not place/handle the order myself. I will say that we submitted relatively late in the morning and everything arrived at the perfect time and no one seemed to have a problem with their order, either. No small feat for a group of 25. I ordered the mediterranean wrap with chips and salsa, and added a fruit cup. I guess I was trying to stay on the lighter side, but by combining so many things I may have defeated the purpose. In any case, the wrap was just okay- though it seemed thin. I thought they could have put in considerably more vegetables, and the red pepper hummus was either so bland or so light that I did not even notice it, but the overwhelming taste of the wrap was olives and salty turkey breast. The fruit cup was fresh and came with a little cup of their fruit dip, and the salsa was super fresh and delicious. The tortilla chips were spot on, too- Almost all of them were whole rather than the broken shards you risk getting in bagged chips or in most delivery orders, and they held a good amount of the salsa without getting soggy or snapping, either. read more

This actually isn't about the food, but rather the service. I placed a rather simple order of just meat on bread, nothing else, due to personal trauma and aversions with food. The cashier proceeds to make a joke at my order and says "is this even a sandwich at this point?" I said yes, and thought that was it. He then asked if "I at least wanted a drink with it" while proceeding to wave and shake a cup in my face. I reluctantly said yes, just to finish. He then proceeded to insert the wrong order that was about $4-$5 more, and only changed it when we called him out on it, despite noticing the screen multiple times and making a joke of my order.
