My friend and I visited this vineyard and we had a great time. The vineyard wasn't crowded and we were able to enjoy the grounds without bumping into other people. The weather was beautiful and the greenery and country feel outdoors was beautiful. OK, yes I am a city girl so it was great to see land, grass and not big buildings everywhere. LOL We were part of a bus ride day trip to the Long Island North Fork area to different wineries. We enjoyed the sheep outside and also noticed they had an area for you to eat and drink at the picnic tables which was cool. There was also some live music available for you to enjoy and sip at your leisure. The wines were just okay and nothing stood out for me to want to purchase a bottle. The wine tasting area was fairly big with sufficient space for you not to be literally on top of other customers like some other wineries I've visited. We make sure Jason's is our first stop on our way for a winery day. We usually spot in for a glass of wine to enjoy on their deck and stock up on of their local cheese's to bring with us for the afternoon. Their wine is very good and we enjoy everyone who works their. They do provide paper good as in knives, napkins, and plates but we do recommend to bring your own crackers and snacks as it does get price when your 'our east'. I wanted to like this place more than I did. But, I found it to be pretty disappointing. We had lunch outside, which was nice, and were able to take some nice photos in the vineyards. The Pinot Blanc was delicious, and I had friends who really enjoyed the reds. But, the staff weren't friendly or helpful at all. They didn't seem to like being asked questions, ESPECIALLY since we were on a wine tour, but I frequent vineyards pretty often and enjoy being able to have a conversation about the wines. The tastings were absurdly small. They were like little plastic shot glasses, which I found to be pretty tacky. They were more concerned about collecting our tickets and getting us out of there then they were about making sure we were informed and enjoying ourselves. There was no live music, the vibe was kind of dead, and I can't imagine myself coming back here. They did have a petting zoo, so I imagine this place is better for families who are looking for a more relaxed, kid-friendly vibe, which is not at all what I was looking for yesterday. read more

We love the beautiful setting of this winery. Adorable animals, turquoise Adirondack chairs awauting visitors outdoors, and a rustic, well lit tasting room. Check the schedule to check out when live music is happening, which is pretty frequent. As I was the designated driver, I skipped on the wine. However my husband, son and daughter in law enjoyed a bold, rich Cabernet Sauvignon. They were quite pleased with the taste, along with the Gouda,Sopressata and crackers! We came here on a Saturday and with it being the season for crowds at the vineyards we did expect this vineyard to be crowded. We did see a couple of buses and were told that since Vineyard 48 closed their buses were coming to Jason's. I do have to say that even with the big crowd we didn't have to wait long to get a place at the tasting bar. We were two couples and used Groupon's which they gladly accepted and told us it included a tasting, one full glass of wine,cheese and meat of our choice. So we all shared two delicious cheeses and two of the meats they told us to go to the refrigerator and pick out. My husband and I like the red wines better than the white, but we are red wine people anyway. Our friends liked the whites but we all ended up getting a bottle of red to take to the porch to hang out and drink. There was an acoustic guitar player who was very good and everyone out there had a great time. He took requests and people got up to dance. The atmosphere out on the deck was calmer than inside and the weather was beautiful so it was a great day. As we sat outside we did notice the buses coming and going, and so many people, and we wondered if they were allowed to just go there or if they needed to make a reservation. If they don't take bus reservations then they should, and if they do, maybe they need to limit them. The person who really made our day great though was our server Melanie. She was just so awesome! She never seemed overwhelmed and served everyone at the tasting bar with a smile, so thank you Melanie! Because of you we will definitely be back! :-) Oh an by the way, I think the animals are alpaca's? They are adorable and were just so friendly! Love this winery as it's the true dog friendly winery that you can actually bring your dogs inside of the tasting room to be with you. ( Some wineries restrict the dog most stay outside and can't get in to the tasting room.) The tasting price is reasonable. For $15, you get to taste 5 different wines plus a free tasting on Rose wine, and they do give you generous portion. I think their white wine is better than red and I especially love their Chardonnay and Golden Fleece that we ended up buying the bottles to go. The live music on the outdoor patio is festive. I would definitely recommend this place if you are planning a winery tour. read more

Great vineyard. We went on a Friday late afternoon and it was fun but a little more low key than some of the other wineries (a very good thing) The owner was great and fun to talk to. We met some nice people that helped us with dinner ideas as we were visiting from CT for the weekend. Super great deal if you get the Groupon...but even if you don't, it is well worth the stop. It was terribly hot the day we went so we stayed inside, but the outdoor seating areas were lovely and would be great on a nice day!! Highly recommend the Golden Fleece and I'm not usually a white wine drinker. He has some great merchandise for reasonable prices (slate cheeseboard for $15? Great deal!!) Chill place to hang with friends on a lazy weekend. Inside can get pretty stuffy so feel free to laze on the shaded deck with live music. They've got a good range of wines. Their dessert wine is über strong -19%. I'd recommend their Red Fox Leicester cheese. read more

I visited this winery for the first time this year and wasnt very impressed. The place itself was very nice. I loved the ship style decor of the place however, the wine-not so much. The riesling and golden fleece to me where the best options at this winery. The staff was very friendly but not very good at tending the wine tasting bar. A few people were served tastings in used glasses. One girl was served with a glass that obviously had lipstick resdiue on it. The staff when asked quickly replaced the glass but that shoudnt happen if the used glasses were removed after each tasting was over. It happened to many times for my comfort while I was there. The best part of my visit here were the sheep outside. They were very friendly and amusing - well maybe I was just very tipsy LOL. read more

Purchased an Amazon local voucher (For 2) as a birthday gift for my best friend. I was lucky enough to be her plus one! The service was excellent as well as the offerings! We were given 5 tastings and one full size glass of our choice. I loved the setup! Our voucher also included cheese and crackers and two souvenir glasses to take home. All of the wines we tried were excellent but my favorite hands down was the golden fleece! It is a must try! The vineyard itself is very peaceful and beautiful. We tasted inside and then went outside to enjoy the scenery. They have picnic tables and a small gazebo where you can relax and enjoy the live music they have. This is one of the only vineyards that doesn't require a reservation right now. It has many outdoor tables and a nice bar inside. The tasting was inly $15 for 5 wines and it was a good selection that you could choose from. They had snacks inside to buy and other kinds of drinks as well. Very clean and staff are very nice. They require masks when you are walking around or ordering inside but once you get your wine and snacks you can sit at a table and relax. Nice atmosphere. Very casual and pleasant. read more

I had four wine tastings, crackers and cheddar cheese, and one full glass of Riesling. Riesling was my favorite but the others were also great. I had Golden Fleece, Malbec, Dessert wine, and the Riesling. I even got to take a souvenir glass home which I loved. There was live music and I loved when the singer performed an Ed Sheeran song live! The animals added the perfect touch to the vineyard, and so did the Gazebo. It was pretty perfect. Really enjoyed our time at Jason's Vineyard. Came here on a sunny spring Saturday to celebrate a bday w/ a groupon deal. Looked as if we weren't the only one celebrating a special occasion, there was someone's bachelorette & someone's bday too, all guests were def having a good time! We are not from LI, we were definitely the odd ones there, Asian/dressed loudly/looked different/drove out from the city... We even got a few side stink eyes from other customers. But despite that, the staff here were absolutely friendly, engaging, always smiling, and one of them even recognized some from our party that were there the weekend before. :) Even if you don't have a groups deal, I think it is $9 for 5 tastings & a full glass. Not bad if u ask me! My favorites included the Golden Fleece, white Riesling, and the red dessert wine... I personally like white fruity smooth wines too! I chose the Riesling as my full glass & even purchased a bottle to take home. We were already feeling a nice buzz before our full glass. This is one of the smaller vineyards on the North Fork, although it is owned by the same family, the Damianos, that own both Pindar and Duck Walk. The atmosphere is friendly and the tasting room bar is in the shape of the Argo, the Greek ship of myth used by Jason in his quest for the golden fleece. There is an outside deck featuring live music every weekend. It is a great place to bring along a picnic lunch, purchase a bottle of wine and relax on the deck. The wines are average, nothing notable or horrible. The musicians we have seen there have included Bob Stack and a duo called Sweaty Betty. Both played classic rock and pop. I loved it here! Bottles of wine were about $20 each which is SUPER reasonable for the North Fork. There's no indoor seats (aside from standing around the big boat-shaped bar) but there's a big covered porch right outside of the bar and then a huge patio/gazebo area. We were a group of about 20 and were perfectly comfortable and had so much room. Jason's Vineyard lets you bring your own food as well so we brought a picnic for the kids and bought lots of wine for the adults. There's a 'petting zoo'- a few alpacas and sheep- for the kids to go over and feed and cornhole as well. It's super calm and fun and a great escape from typical winery mayhem. read more

Loved our recents trip to Jason's Vineyard. They have sparkling wine you can buy by the bottle. (Hard to find at some wineries I've gone to out East) You are required to buy "Cuomo chips" but they have yummy cheeses, pretzels, biscotti, and meats to accompany your wine. Lot's of places to sit, whether you want the porch near the music, the garden for a sunny spot, or the back, which I don't remember being open in the past. There are lots of spots to make you feel comfortable as you drink and social distance. read more

I came here on a Saturday evening on my last stop on our winery tour. The staff was extremely friendly upon arrival. The place was packed but the crowd was extremely friendly. Other patrons were giving their opinions and descriptions of the wines they tasted. I must say my 1st choice wine was Golden Fleece. It was so freaking good, followed closely with Merlot and Hercules. The taste was so amazing. The wine-tenders were also great at explaining the wines and readily available to pour in our glasses. I think most of the people here were pretty tipsy, including myself. The wine bar was shaped like a boat. Neat concept. The outside area although somewhat enclosed was still a bit chilly and filled with live music. We were celebrating my friends birthday and when I announced it, a table filled with women started singing, "Happy Birthday to yah." We all just started dancing and singing. Such a great time. We came out on a rather chilly Sunday afternoon in April to check out a band we hadn't heard before; Dakota Rose. The live music is outside on the deck...there was heavy duty clear plastic blocking the wind mostly but it was still wide open in 2 places and we were told it had to stay that way so people could escape more readily in case of an emergency or something. Heat lamps would have been appreciated! The crowd really thinned in between sets as most couldn't hack the cold for too long. Enjoyed the acoustic country band; definitely made the experience. In addition to the wine there is a refrigerator with various blocks of cheese, bottles of water, cans of soda all available for purchase. Saw tap beer being poured for some folks as well. They provided a Styrofoam plate and plastic knife to make the snacking easier which was nice. Boxes of crackers for sale too. We had a bottle of the 2013 Malbec and sampled a few other reds...if you're a wine connoisseur this definitely isn't your place; nothing special about any of them. You are also allowed to bring your own snacks along for the outside deck if you wish. There are some sheep and alpacas in the farmyard which were adorable (but very dirty) that kids would probably enjoy seeing; place seemed family friendly. Went this past weekend with our children and their dog! What a find. We had a fabulous time. Tastings were fun and wine was delicious. Between the five of We tried a huge variety. All were really good. I personally loved the Golden Fleece, the Riesling (fist time ever trying this. Won't be my last),!and the dessert red. I personally prefer white wine, but will tell you the dessert ted was so delicious, I bought all Of the above mentioned. What a disgrace to customer service. Website said they closed at 6pm on Thursdays. We arrived at 4:45 and were refused service because the hostess said they closed in 15 minutes. Website times are incorrect. The hostess was terrible. Very short, rude, didn't apologize for our inconvenience with the wrong time on THEIR website even when I showed it to her she said "I DONT KNOW" and walked away. This place is great. I came here with a group of 12 as part of an LI vineyard tour for a friend's birthday. The vineyard is really nice and expansive. They had a live music band on the Saturday afternoon hat we came. Although very crowded on the Saturday we were there, the main house/space is large and they have both an indoor and outside covered seating area, so it's really great for groups and socializing. They also have a detached petting zoo outside where you can get close to some sheeps and lamas. My group and I did a wine tasting and while I didn't like their reds I really loved their "Candy" blend rose. It was fresh without being too sweet like most rosè. I went here as part of a bus wine tour. This was the last stop. The only saving grace of this winery for me was the sheep/alpaca hanging out in the area. The wine was ok, nothing spectacular. The main tasting room smelled horrible, like the bathroom was backing up. Service was horrible - the shorter guy with the beard was going out of order and was more concerned making small talk with women than serving, and he definitely appeared drunk to me. The place was busy but not so crazy that I had to wait 5-8 minutes for a tasting! Which was much smaller than the other wineries. Even when I asked for a double pour (using 2 of my 4 drink vouchers) I received a tiny tasting. Maybe it was the day, but I did not enjoy my short stay at this winery. They have a fabulous open-air tasting area, and the staff was amazing. The dude who helped us was friendly, casual, cool. The wine is reasonably priced, and the tasting was like $8 for 5 varieties. LOVED their white table wine - sweet & fresh, like I love. Maybe it's not top-dollar wine, but I dug it. The tasting guy could even predict what I would like, and switched up the options to suit me. They also had live music, a very cool rockabilly band. I totally could have stayed here all day! In fact, not sure why we didn't! Will definitely be back! read more

This is not a place i would go back to or a place i would buy wine from. I went on a Sunday with the groupon and i thought it would be worth and nope. The groupon comes with a 5 tasting for each guest a glass and cheese plate.... um yea cheese plate is just a block of cut up cheddar cheese and a little pack or ritz crackers on a small paper plate with a plastic knife... really wtf am i going to cut with a plastic knife? Their wine sucks! we picked 10 different wines and did not like ANY!!!!!!! mind you we love dessert wine, theirs sucks! at the end of the tasting we didnt want to have a glass of wine so i asked who ever was at the front that instead of getting the 2 full cups of wine if we could just give in the chips and get 1 empty wine glass with their name. They said no that they would be losing money. HOW???? so we left the chips and walked out... such nasty wine there. Not even 1 type of one was good. Dont go there at all there is so many other better tasting wineries out there. read more
