Awesome spot! We stopped by for coffee and breakfast and it was great! We wanted to find a place with outdoor seating to accommodate our dog, and they have great outdoor seating some tables in the shade and some in the sun. Breakfast prices were reasonable and the food was good. Quick service too. read more

Easy drive through or walk in service. Limited seating inside but very cute decor. Service can be slow as there are only 1-2 employees working but employees were very friendly and kept me up to date on my order! Coffee was good but very sweet like Dutch bros. read more

( Note: not from Oregon) The " Americano" drip coffee was bland- like gas station coffee. I had the Veggie Burrito which was similarly bland- not a good diversity of vegetables. My bill was about $12.50 so it's not inexpensive. But the interior was basic but nice. read more

More expensive than Starbucks. I can get a rental iced chai at Starbucks for less than the price of a 24 oz here and the chai here has next to no flavor. The flavored energy drinks are also up there with Dutch Brothers pricing and aren't nearly asgood. read more

A little awkward on the drive thru route, just give it a second. Coffee good, breakfast burrito better. And have them add gravy, takes it to OMG. It's a typical coffee shop, prices are right, tastes are good, staff moves like they have a purpose in life, good choice for your morning break. read more

Ordered a latte. Menu shows $5.50. The clerk asked if I was paying cash or card. When I said card, the price jumped to $6.05. If that wasn't bad enough, the overpriced coffee was terrible. It was burnt and had a bad after taste. Save your money and dip your cup in the Columbia, it'll taste better. read more

I'm going to tell you what.....These ladies are outstanding! The service is second to none. The coffee is great. The food is tasty... three years ago I was 325 pounds and went on a healthy lifestyle change. Since those days I've been coming to Java Junkies and having a scramble in the morning and a healthy salad in the afternoon. I probably get coffee about 3-4 times a week. Every time I go my 4 year old wants a "coffee" too. I normally get her a kids size jet tea. I was excited to stop at the new location in stanfield and give them a try. I was quickly disappointed when the nice lady at the window told me they don't carry kid sizes. I debated if I should just cancel her jet tea, knowing she would not drink this huge drink but I didn't want to hear her cry. So I ordered it. I don't think I've ever had this problem at big chain coffee place. Small coffee places out of town. Some places even carry cute little cups. I'm sure a huge number of java junkies clients are moms with kids who also want some kind of drink. Why wouldn't they sell smaller sizes? Im currently dumping a melted jet tea down the drain.. money waisted. A drink that wasn't finished not even half way. For that reason alone I'll just drive to Hermiston to get a coffee that will charge me a few dollars for a kids size that will be finished. Sad. Because java junkies is down the road from my house. read more

I used to travel through Umatilla several times a year, and I wished this place had been open back then! Found this by chance when I stopped for fuel and decided to check Yelp for a coffee location. I was surprised this place was here. Not sure when it opened, but glad to know they are here. By a comment that was made behind the counter, I 'assume' this is a family run business with the mother and daughters working the counter. All who were here the other day were friendly and smiling. Love that in a business! My drink was perfect and tasted great. read more

.Love java junkies .love the frappuccino. Go there on a hot day for a cool drink for myself and granddaughter. We cook off that way. When worked at school in summer stopped every am for drinks for school. And had lunch there every day. Like sandwiches also. Very good. Breakfast sandwiches are really great also. read more

Great place to grab lunch in Umatilla! I actually work in Irrigon, and they'll deliver to their irrigon location if you order the night before. Makes lunch on a whim difficult, but if you can plan lunch or are planning for a meeting, it's no sweat! Their full size "Viking" sandwich is huge. Basically every sandwich meat possible. Turkey, ham, beef, salami, pepperoni and bacon! It's pretty awesome! Their chai tea has really grown on me as well. I would definitely recommend! read more

They were extremely rude and very dismissive when I was ordering. Every single time I go here they ALWAYS get my order wrong besides once and just seem like they don't want to be there, they give their customers the feeling of just wanting to hurry and get us out as soon as possible they do have any customer service at all. They are always so slow with orders and never smile or appreciate customers. The Java in Irrigon is the TOTAL opposite I feel important and that they care, they never get my order wrong and always are sooo very kind. I appreciate the worker there. It's hard working in a coffee shop since it's always busy but she does an amazing job at making customers feel important and respected. DEFINITELY cannot say the same for Umatilla. The employees working in the Umatilla Java Junkies need a quite a few pointers from the gal in Irrigon. Customer service is a real thing and unfortunately I will not be going back to the Umatilla Java Junkies. read more

Don't be fooled by the name. There's much more to Java Junkies than coffee. We pulled off I-84 in Umatilla for a bite to eat and found a friendly, modest place with the most extensive sandwich menu we'd seen in 1,000 miles. We both had the Thursday special: half a chicken bacon ranch sandwich (but almost big enough to qualify for full size), chips and a small drink for $5. I substituted a cup of tomato basil ravioli soup for the chips for a total of $6.50. The soup and sandwich both tasted homemade. Definitely worth stopping here for a filling lunch. P.S. The restroom is super-clean and large, with a double sink and a potted plant. It's always a good sign when a restaurant takes care of its restrooms. read more

Just what this little, blue collar town needs! i absolutely love this place and the fact that they have the monopoly being primarily a coffee spot makes it even better b/c they deserve it! Not sure of the hours, but they were open at 6am just before we were about to head out on the road again. I had the ham, egg and cheese sub (didn't even finish the entire half b/c it was pretty filling) & Raspberry Swirl. Both were freaking yumtastic. The staff was as sweet as could be, but not over the top (which was great b/c i'm not a morning person). The place is very open with lots of windows and places to sit. They also serve other types of subs, salads and soup for lunch/dinner-they all sound great. i plan on frequenting this place as much as possible whenever in the area! i might have to visit my friend more often just to do so! I can't say enough about Java Junkies! What a little gem of a restaurant / coffee shop. Super nice people, great service, great food, and above all the prices: astoundingly reasonable! We were on the road North to Yakima, and sort of taking the "back way". We were wanting a decent lunch place, that would be "dog friendly" - it was too hot to leave our Shih Tzu in the car. We drove all the way down the main drag, spotting Java Junkies first thing - hmmm... some outdoor tables in the shade, sign says "soup and sandwiches"... we kept on driving and the only other thing was a burger place up the road. We don't really do the "burger joint" food so turned around and went back to Java Junkies. Glad we did! I ordered the "Daily Lunch Special" - 1/2 a sandwich, chips, and drink - for FIVE BUCKS!! Yes, you read that right! $5 Anne had the same thing, with Tuna. Even though there was a long line to order, (always a good sign actually!) they have it really dialed in and moved right along. Our food was delivered right outside to our table very quickly - terrific sandwiches in every way never mind how inexpensive they were. We didn't want coffee but judging by the line of folks in the drive-thru it is clearly a good place for a good cup of Joe as well. The "half sandwich" is BIG. I mean, plenty sandwich for most people. This was no "finger sandwich" - it was a 6 or 8 inch Hoagy roll, with plenty of "stuff" inside. Very nicely done! If you're reading this heading into Umatilla, trust me - you won't find a better place to eat - at least not along the main drag off the highway. Maybe there's some other place sure... but I give Java Junkies a full 5 Yelp Stars for a stellar value for fellow Road Warriors just looking for a really good lunch, at a really good price, with outstanding service. Love this place! Great food, great people, and an amazing atmosphere! Great fresh sandwiches and salads, they truly make it to your liking! They have great soups too! Great coffee choices, so many flavors to choose from. My favorite is the Hannah. They also have great choices for kids from hot chocolate to Italian sodas. I would think they could make some dough putting in gas pumps as the locals must not enjoy driving 30 miles west on SR14 to fill up. I've never paid much attention but there could be a card-lock place across the street for businesses that have a membership. Those tractors certainly gulp down a lot of diesel in a week's time. There used to be a ferry here that went over to Arlington, OR but it's long gone now. It was used frequently by the locals to fetch groceries across the river. In recent years the population of Roosevelt has increased dramatically after the town decided that they would build a landfill and welcome the trash from the Seattle area. Trains loaded with refuse keep truck drivers employed and busy hauling the containers up the hill to be emptied. Prior to the landfill, Roosevelt was little more than a whistle stop with a dive bar and a couple of other now derelict businesses. Food here is pretty decent these days as they are feeding local truckers who want and expect a hardy meal at a reasonable price. You'll find that here. Staff is very friendly. There's a little park and boat launch down the road (south) with picnic tables and a view of the river.

I do reviews often of places I try on my travels as a professional horse hauler. I LOVE FOOD. We stopped at the nearby fuel station and they had zero decent options so we decided to try this stop. I ventured around to the restaurant and that's where this story begins. Walking in you feel the history of the building. It's not new, it's not nice, but it's not dangerous or gross. It just feels old... if those walls could talk type. The diner has an old school feel to it and the menu had several items on it that intrigued me. Since we are always needing to move efficiently, I picked two of the sandwiches the prime rib dip and the Rueben. We didn't have to wait long, but by the time the food arrived we decided to eat while the food was hot. Let me just say... WHOA!!!! One bite of the Reuben and I feel overwhelmed by the flavors. The rye bread was just perfect, thin but the flavor was perfect, warm and a nice toast on it, the sauerkraut was beautifully pungent and the corned beef was perfect. This wasn't a massively meaty sandwich and for those with larger appetites, you might need two, but the flavor is INCREDIBLE!!! I am PICKY and brutally honest with food... THIS IS WORTH THE STOP! I paired our Reuben with the onion rings which were BANGIN! Onto the delicious but not quite as spectacular prime rib dip. It was a twist on a French dip. All meat and bread no cheese. It was great flavor and the au juice was full of flavor. While the portions weren't PACKED, the foods flavor was so noteworthy we will def stop again! Loved this find!
