I will start by saying I haven't tried anything here yet. However, I don't think their customer service is that great from a first impression. I'm a little annoyed because on Sundays they are supposed to close at 8pm. I was excited to try their lattes and pastries. I get there at 6:31 pm and there is a sign on the door saying we close at 6:30. Decided to try the door regardless since it was so close and the door was open. The people there were all staring at us and then said were closed. I think they could've handled that situation a little better. read more

Went by this evening to check out the place. I wasn't in the mood for coffee (it was almost 8pm!) but I discovered they had gelato - salted caramel gelato - so I had to try it. It was better than Dean and Deluca's in Georgetown! I talked to the owner for a while to see how the first couple of weeks were, so far so good. Four stars because, well, I only had the gelato, and it's a coffee place. So I'll be back there, and maybe for more stars, here, too! I'll take Java Loco over Starbucks ANY day. They made my coffee from whole, fresh beans, and since they have alllll the flavorings you can imagine, I got my dream cup of coffee made to perfection. (A chocolate orange latte/macchiato). I can't wait to go back! read more

I only tried their dulce de leche latte. I shared it with my mother and we complained about how typical tasting it was and that it tasted nothing like dulce de leche. That is, until I got the very last sip. I over estimated my mothers sense of logic because I had assumed she stirred it. She had not. The very last sip was a big sludge of dulce de leche... So yes, their dulce de leche latte truly has dulce de leche in it and IF YOU STIR IT, you will not regret it lol read more

I've been to this shop a handful of times now and definitely find it a great alternative to Starbucks. The coffee is great and the service has always been very nice. Price is comparable to Starbucks which is unfortunate but I understand the need to stay in the market. It appears they are no longer open at 6:30AM during the week days though. I've stopped by several times the past few two weeks and they've been closed. Perhaps not enough business that early? Nice place though! read more

Great place for a meet&greet. The salted caramel gelato is my favorite. Looking for something to quench your thirst and very satisfying, try the Thai tea, hot or cold. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. read more

Fresh ground and brewed coffee, for EVERY cup. Fresh hot sandwiches. Very good Gelato brought over from D.C. It's a nice atmosphere where welcoming, neighborly people are working. Also great place to sit with a good friend and chat a while. Bring your kids for a cup of gelato for good behavior, as I've seen many people do :) I love it here. I decided to give this place again after my not so nice first experience and I have to say this is one of my favorite places to come get breakfast, lunch, bubble tea and gelatos. Their gelatos are amazing! The best I've ever tasted! Their bubble tea is pretty delicious as well. Their breakfast sandwiches and BLT sandwiches are my favorite meal choices to get! Awesome little place to grab a quick coffee or breakfast, don't let the shopping center's parking lot deter you, just drive carefully. We always refer to this establishment as " Boba Tea" because it's the closest place to us that has the awesome beverage. If you're looking for something other than "Seattle coffee", try Java and you won't be let down. Originally came to the pet store next door, but the sign advertising some coffee flavors caught my eye as well as my husband's. Came in on a Sunday evening and it was empty. The flavors we seen were for hot drinks and I prefer the cold. Got an iced double mocha that wasn't bad. Also had my receipt emailed to me after using my debit card, less waste! Look forward to trying other items in the future. There's also a couple of chairs and a table outside, alongside a doggy bowl for water :) read more

Great little cozy coffee shop and more. They have a variety of coffee choices - I tried the Caramel Macchiato and I swore it tasted better than Starbucks. They serve breakfast and sandwiches to order- along with various types of tea. The lighting is good, the customer service is great, and the WiFi is free. This is a very nice, quaint coffee spot. Found it on Yelp and thought we'd try it out. Great tranquil atmosphere and nicely tucked away from hustle-and-bustle Van Dorn street. The different coffee selections are unlike I've seen at other places. I got the Cuban coffee, which is very strong and brewed at an extremely high temperature to get the most out of the coffee beans. It's a great wake-up coffee to have! The breakfast is also nice and freshly prepared from scratch. This is definitely a nice find and we'll be back regularly. read more

I stopped in for some coffee and a snack before my work shift and was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this place is. I told the guy behind the counter that I needed something to wake me up but not give me jitters. He suggested a white chocolate mocha iced drink with 2 shots instead of 3. It worked fantastic- I was wide awake until the end of my shift. The cupcakes are HEAVENLY. I definitely found my new coffee spot when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

We ordered the hazelnut gelato, vanilla gelato and the taro iced tea latte. The vanilla gelato was frost bitten and had ice crystals in it and we ordered the iced tea latte with no bubbles and they made it with bubbles anyway. Then when we tasted it we could barely detect any taro flavor at all. It just tasted like watery milky tea with too much ice. I could see residue on the bottom of the cup so I think he just cut open the top and fished out the bubbles and added more ice which made it hard to even taste the milk. Horrible to say the least. The hazelnut gelato wasn't bad but we ended up throwing everything away considering the major fail of the other two items. We didn't even want to sit in there anymore. Also to mention, we originally went in for the advertised bingsu or snow cream. They did not have either yet which left us already disappointed from the start. We will never return to this place of sunken dessert dreams. read more

Support mom and pop shops!! Randomly found this place even though I've driven by this plaza several times. Being NYer I'm always trying to find mom and pop places. They have great coffee and Boars Head meat!!! Only deli I've found besides Giant to carry Boars Head Coldcuts. Highly recommend this place. read more

Better than Starbucks! Best secret in the Landmark area! Cute, quiet, and great coffee!

we went in for breakfast this morning because of the reviews we saw here and also because of the convenient location. Let me start off by saying I've been to my fair share of small coffee shops and this one by far is the most deceiving in terms of price vs quality. expect HIGH prices for low quality! the coffee is bad and the pastries are way overpriced. I ordered a cheese Danish and the guy gave it to me in a paper plate stone cold. I was shocked so my husband told him to kindly toast it and instead of toasting it her threw it in the microwave until it become soggy and chewy. At that point I just let it go and accepted my faith . my husband ordered the egg and cheese bagel which costs $6 btw and again they did not toast the bagel, just heated it in the microwave and it came soggy and unsalted. my husband and I were very disappointed because we paid $16 for two coffees, a Danish and bagel . we won't ever go there again and save our money for Dunkin donuts or Starbucks instead. read more

Glad to have a coffee shop in the area! Love the design of the shop, definitely made me feel like I was "away from home." My latte was excellent and the free wifi and quiet atmosphere with mild relaxing music made it easy to get work done. Looks like the food menu is lacking though. Could use a soup of the day or some original food items and a simple breakfast menu (i.e. sausage egg and cheese croissant, fresh fruit, etc.). I wanted to order more to support the business (and get dinner) but nothing intrigued me. If they partnered with Indaroma for their home-made pastries, that would be a match made in heaven! read more

Pretty good little shop. We had an iced taro latte and hot cappuccino of better than-average-quality. I saw a lot more things on the menu I would try another time. However the amount of items offered was a bit overwhelming. Service was quick and friendly. read more
