First time coming to this establishment. Drove in from the medical center just to try it out. The service was quick and fast. The cafe is nice and cozy. The coffee was made with love.

I know it's in the burbs but it's really a good place. Lots of close parking and a huge outdoor patio. Plenty of tables were open inside too. I got the honey owl which was spot on. However my sausage sandwich was good in that the bread was soft and the egg seasoned well but the sausage was kind of off. It was crumbly as I ate it and was significantly smaller than the bun and the egg. Service was perfect and fast and the prices were reasonable.

First time visiting this Cute little place. There is a cozy, calm environment inside and a small patio area. It was a little busy so it took the staff a bit to take our order which was perfect because it gave us time to look over the menu and decide what we would order. The barista was patient, had great suggestions and answered all our questions. We ordered a watermelon cream soda, American, and a latte. My only Personal OPINION (it's my opinion, I'm entitled to it, no one has to care.) there was someone with a larger breed dog inside, I feel the outside patio should be where the dogs go while the inside is kept pet free.

We were staying down the road from Java Owl and my husband has been here on previous trips. It's a cute coffee house but unfortunately, the coffee is just ok. If you want an espresso drink go for a cortado (or flat white) as anything larger and the espresso is too weak to handle all the milk. The brewed coffee is not much better..

Java Owl has respectable hours every morning and is open until a logical time on Friday and Saturday evenings

I was looking for a coffeehouse in the Bay Area, as Houston calls its I-45 strand of suburbs outside of the Sam Houston Tollway in the direction of Galveston. A lot of these suburbs are nice bedroom communities and, with that, I knew there would be some nice coffeehouses. In looking at listings and photos, one such coffeehouse was Java Owl. I was up for this. It seemed like an indie coffeehouse with a lot of character. It also looked like they put some time and effort into making it look appealing, both inside and out. Note that finding a coffeehouse in this area that keeps late hours is not that easy. They don't stay open that late, but do open early. From the front of the shopping center, you can see the entrance to Space Center Houston! That also means that you have to drive on that racetrack of a thoroughfare named NASA Pkwy 1. Mostly, Java Owl is about coffee, but they do have a decent selection of teas. Teas are served in a teapot, from which you pour your own cups and it's what I've come to prefer. They also have baked goods. Note that, as the day wears on, their supply of baked goods diminishes. They do not have much in the way of savory items which, in my mind, pair well with coffee or tea. It's also the reason I'm holding back from 5 stars. The pricing was appropriate. The store is clean and bright. There is a capacious section of parking in the shared lot that is close to Java Owl. The service was very polite. Even the customers are very pleasant. There is a fair bit of intellectual horsepower in these suburbs and, when you combine that with H-town's freewheeling style, warm weather, and many transplants, it's the sort of ambiance you'd expect in a nicer suburban Sunbelt area. About the suburbs, their naming can be a little strange. Big chunks of the Bay Area are still in the city of Houston, while there is a patchwork of small communities with names like Nassau Bay, El Lago, Kemah, and such. This coffeehouse is in Nassau Bay. I stopped in twice and really liked it. That said, I would readily return to Java Owl and recommend it.

Perfect spot to get work done!! Lots of natural sunlight and tables. I ordered an iced pomberry ( a herbal tea) which they brought to me in this cute tea set up. The tea was okay, I think next time I will ask for honey or some other alternative sweetener. Other than that, I am excited to come back to this location and try out other drinks.

This review is only really for the matcha. The place was nice and service was quick. I ordered an iced matcha latte with whole milk and no sweetener. The barista told me the matcha was already sweetened but they had an unsweetened ceremonial grade matcha as well, so that is what I ordered. It was about $6.50. It was decent, obviously not sweet, but it didn't have much flavor. It was less of a matcha latte and more like slightly matcha flavored milk.

On my first visit on a Saturday evening, the diverse crowd struck me as beautiful when I was three steps into the door. Every age, race and gender was represented in the staff and customer base. I enjoyed a gentleman playing guitar, a young man on piano, and an aunt and nephew rendition of Stand By Me done acapella. The staff were very attentive and my Americano was excellent. The prices were fair and the atmosphere gets an A+++++++. My wife and I will be back.

Let's just say customer service and coffee are top tier. Java Owl feels warm and welcoming. It was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee as if I was in my living room with a friend chatting. Great staff and fast service. Great local coffee shop!!!!

Excellent mocha and muffins! Cool vibe, too. It's a great spot for dessert. Enjoyed the outdoor seating.

If you are on the south side of Houston it's very hard to find boutique coffee shops with great coffee but Java Owl is the answer. The lines aren't Starbucks fast because they aren't giving you burnt tasting coffee with artificial syrups that are toxic to your body. Java Owl uses premium coffee beans, great syrups, and they know how to use their espresso machines. Oh, and they also have other great beverage options for non coffee drinkers. Please don't compare this to Starbucks because it isn't Starbucks. Starbucks is the fast food of coffee. Java Owl is a gourmet type coffee spot. I highly recommend it. Oh and there are a lot of great spots to sit where you can read or just lounge while you enjoy your coffee. Here's a tip, if you are trying to grab a coffee to go quickly, use the toast website to order online. Your order is usually ready in about 5-7 mins ;) read more

My husband and I recently moved to the League City area and finding an authentic coffee shop in the area was difficult until we came to Java Owl! I'm pretty picky about my espresso, but they make some of the best espresso drinks. You can taste the quality of what they serve! And the owner and staff are always so welcoming! Love this place! This is truly a neighborhood place. Met Athena & RJ who are regulars. The vibe is positive. Music at the perfect volume with the perfect mix. The. Lavender. Latte! The staff is friendly and so kind. I JUST left this amazing coffee shop (my office for the day) and I must say it's pretty much perfect! I don't know what I enjoyed most- the ambiance/aesthetic, cleanliness, or high level of service I received probably the last two but seriously the second they saw something was dirty they immediately addressed it even the bathrooms were immaculate! Each individual I came in contact with made sure I was well taken care of and did not want for a thing. I am beyond pleased and will certainly make the 20 min drive next time I need somewhere to focus! I saw a shelf of board games, people were reading, studying, or just sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather...they even have a piano! This place is so cute. O and the coffee list gives you plenty of options and meets expectations of an true coffee shop, nice presentation that sets them apart from other shops that I've been to I hope I'm not missing anything, do yourself a favor and check them out! read more

Coffee is great, ambiance is wonderful, and the employees are very kind. I love the seating they have in the coffee shop too. They have swinging chairs, long sofas and simple chair with tables if you need to work. They also have an outside area that's super nice and dog friendly. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday morning. We dined in and had two regular hazelnut lattes and a muffin. Cute and cozy interior. We were people watching enjoying our lattes. We noticed majority of people were returning customers. The owner knew just about everyone who came in and greeted them. I thought that was really awesome. While traveling through Webster, Tx (near NASA), I looked up a local Coffeehouse (instead of putting one more dollar into the Billionaires pocket). So I found the Java Owl. What incredible people (owners), what incredible coffee! So I can only tolerate decaf (), and so the owner brewed up a fresh pot - for me! He explained that they wait for the first 'unleaded' customer of the day before putting the decaf to brew. That coffee was so delicious and made even better by caring owners. Kind, kind kind. It was very busy but they were extremely accommodating and made sure we had somewhere to sit with the children. I had a cappuccino and my mother had a latte. The kids had milk and madeleines. The coffee area looked clean , modern and organized. I very much enjoyed my coffee. Especially nice to have it served in a real coffee cup and not a paper cup. A lot of care goes into making the drinks. Also the price was very reasonable and significantly less than going to a chain. Everyone was really friendly and we will be back. read more

What else can you say? Great business with beautiful decor, attention to detail, kind owners, and great coffee. Owners love supporting their community and want their customers to feel welcome and comfortable. I can't think of a place I would rather give my money to when I want to go get a cup of coffee. Only thing left to do is be able to get a big slice of king cake with my coffee (that's my idea for an improvement after king's day next year) :) . Thanks again to the owners for a great experience. Went in here a few months back as it was recommended by several people for a date, now I realize it was not a great "inclusive to all" environment. Definitely more directed towards a specific culture/race. The service was very very slow and got lots of judgmental glances and comments from even other customers as apparently they are not used to anyone from other races apparently or mixed race couples. The coffee was blah at best and flavorless. Got a lavender tea and a baked good of some kind and it was flavorless and hard. Sat outside as we felt judged very harshly being inside. Felt like a scene from the movie "get out" will not ever be going back. Very strange for sure. read more

They take the time to put some latte art on your latte and take pride in their creations. I have complained about the LC area not having good coffee for ages. Java Owl has changed my mind! Coffee was amazing (i judge every place by their americanos. Bonus points when espresso and americanos are the same price!!). Owner was so kind and helpful in every way he could be. The inside is sooo cute and a nice atmosphere for studying or hanging out. Stopped in at noontime and, although brief, a great experience. A true coffee house working to do just that very well. Don't go looking for a hot breakfast but you will find a good muffin/cookie assortment. Owner's very friendly and has created an atmosphere perfect for conversation or work. *cry* Why did Clear Lake get such a gem of a coffee shop only after I moved away? Having heard RAVE reviews from my family about this spot, we stopped in on a recent visit. It is so adorable inside. The owners did a great job with the decor. There are tons of outlets with traditional plugs and USB plugs. Clearly designed for people to come and work. My stepmom has spoken with the owner and his long term vision for being a place where people can come and sit, study or build community is beautiful. This area has long needed a small business with these goals in mind. The coffee was great! Many baked good options (even gluten free and keto). Highly recommend! Come support this shop now, before they have to move due to construction, so they'll have the funds to re-open in an even better place. read more

Pretty good coffee for a pretty good price! We ordered the nitro cold brew and the lavender latte. The lavender latte had a subtle lavender flavour -- not too overwhelming, which I enjoyed. Smoothest latte I've had in a long time. I tried this place because of the great reviews I read and was not disappointed. It was super cozy. I felt welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. I have a theory..if a coffee shop can make me quiver in the delight of a non-dairy latte, then they can do anything well. The cutest coffee shop! The owner and staff are very friendly. My cappuccino was so yummy - I was very pleased to know they had almond syrup. It was airy and clean on the inside. They had multiple people walking the lines with an iPad taking orders and keeping traffic flowing. I explained it was my first time so the young lady gave a quick run down of some of their popular items and asked what flavor profiles I like. The line moved quick and I liked that they took the time to wipe down each drink before handing it over so there was no mess. Great customer service. I ended up ordering the Cookie Butter iced coffee. The flavors of this coffee included toasted marshmallow, hazelnut and white chocolate breve. I like a breve because you get a creamier drink. The flavors worked well together and I really enjoyed my drink. I typically like a more coffee forward drink, but every once in awhile I like a dessert like drink. This was that. 7 Brew is one of many like chains in the area so competition is high out here. In my opinion, this place has a slight edge over the other places in that they have a great variety of drinks and great customer service. I will most definitely be back.

Staff finally brings us our drinks, I asked "is this person going to move or are we going to have to go around them?" The staff said the person in the car worked there so everyone was just saying hi. They did not prompt the person in the car to move, just continued sitting there. The franchise owner should be embarrassed of their staff.

Visiting from California we where trying to find some good coffee and we found Java Owl Coffee! The place is really and nice and comfortable. Clean restrooms! Best lavender latte ever!!!
