I ordered a 6 inch triple vanilla mini cake with strawberry coulis . The decorative aspect of the cake was okay. The cake itself was so dry! It crumbled immediately after being sliced and the texture while eating it was disgusting as it just crumbled in your mouth. The fondant was rubbery and not pleasant to eat at all. Everything was overly sweet. The sponge itself didn't even taste good. Not one person who ate this cake finished their piece. I am extremely disappointed as this tiny cake was not cheap and went straight in the trash. I will not be a repeat customer nor will I be recommending this bakery to anyone. Needed a lot of cupcakes for an upcoming party and our favorite place was closed so we stopped in here. We ordered a day ahead and they were ready as promised. Jaybear is such a neat little place. It's not an ordinary bake shop. Everything is about appearance and presentation. It's super clean and super cool. I sampled a few things and it was all delicious! Donuts, cupcakes, candied apples, and even cake pops. What really got my attention was the Cookie Monster cupcake. They also serve breakfast! Right next to Mojo's, what a way to complement an amazing burger than with an amazing sweet? I think her name was Jamie. She was super sweet. I'd been working in a mud puddle an hour earlier, and stupid me, I'd forgotten all about it and when I looked down at her floor, I felt so bad. It didn't matter at all to her. I was pleasantly surprised by this little bake shop. I stopped in late one evening for a sweet treat. I bought a donut cake bomb and a turtle brownie. I didn't eat it immediately (too many calories for that day). When I did finally eat it, the taste of both items were wonderful. I am taste over looks person, so I don't care about fancy designs or decor on top. Everything taste from scratch and was so moist. I look forward to going back to try additional items. read more

What a wonderful bake shop to work with. =) I placed an order for a wedding cake with these two ladies. I'd been looking for someone to make a blue velvet cake (as navy was one of my wedding colors). I'd just about given up on finding a place, and Courtni happened to mention that they made one in the past. Wow oh wow. It was beautiful! They allowed me the creativity to have 3 different flavors and when I mentioned that I wanted a rustic looking naked cake, they were able to design how I envisioned my cake to be. It was beautiful with strawberry buttercream and actual fresh strawberry pieces in the icing. My husband and I didn't get any of our own wedding cake as our guest ate all of it. LOL. However, Jaybear Bake Shop made us a small personal cake which was delicious. Ordered a wedding cake from there. Quality from the taste tests were drastically different t from the cake. We ordered a Dutch chocolate layer on bottom and a strawberey on top. Not sure what they brought, but it wasn't what we asked for. My wife has cooked and baked with gluten free items for over 10 years and never have I tasted a grit texture in her cakes or breads. That's just a show of poor craftsmanship. I think this bakery should stick to gluten ans leave the complicated stuff to people who actually leave with it only a daily basis. Really disappointed, if you're ordering from them and you're gluten free, stick to cupcakes and stay away from strawberry. They don't have the skill for it. read more

Holy cow. When driving thru Memphis we stopped and mojo to get a burger and saw the bakeshop. Went in and got a couple cupcakes. About 10 miles down the road our lives we filled with regret that we had made a huge mistake by only getting 3 cupcakes.
