With social media comes popularity and high expectations or unwarranted opinions but sometimes we as people need to understand that this is a small business. It is not a franchise or large business. They are literally a family owned business and have their kids working as well (who are some amazing young gentleman with great customer service by the way!) they operate according to their schedule as business owners. So with that said I'll give my opinion and honest review. The first time I went was at the end of 202. I looked at the posted hours in google maps to check hours and unfortunately they were closed when I got there. I searched on instagram and saw they had a hood/vent issue that prevented them from operating so I decided to try again as soon as they were back open. Hey things out of our control happen right? I'm so glad I made the trip from Henry county back to Decatur a second time because it well worth it! Fresh to order food is everything to me! It was hot and not a long wait I got the tenders combo and fries with the special sauce man the flavor I was in chicken tender heaven & they make their homemade "happy lemons" lemonade so it was fresh and not too sweet I could have drunk a gallon of it! For dessert I had the peach cobbler and it was fresh as well and still warm and had just the right amount of cinnamon and nutmeg! I saw Jaybees on Tik Tok and told myself I had to try it on my next visit to ATL. This place was great!! I got the 8 piece tender combo. It came with fries, coleslaw, and a slice of Texas toast. I also got the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Jay's specialty sauce was my choice of sauce. The service was excellent. The women who took my order was very polite and I felt very welcomed. It took about 15 to get my food from the time I ordered. I like the system they have where they text you when you order is ready. The tenders were really good and flavorful. The jays sauce is also very good. Just to give a description, it's a smoky sauce. The fries were also very good. Great flavor, crispy on the outside and chewy. Texas toast was awesome and the coleslaw was delicious. The peach cobbler was very good as well. Now... YOU MUST GET THE BANANA PUDDING!! The food was very good. I ordered two tender combo and a tender sandwich. I was offered double fries or double coleslaw with the combos. I declined and asked for one of each. The cashier told me that they were out of honey mustard, before asking me what kind of sauce that I wanted. I arrive home to learn that there is no coleslaw included, the sandwich had only two small tenders, and that I was charged $3.12 for 4 little cups of Jays sauce (78 cents each). If a restaurant is going to charge for sauce, then that item should be listed on the menu with the price. They should also ask you how many sauces that you want. read more

The freshness was there and the customer service is BAR NONE, AMAZING!!!! However, the chicken sandwich was missing something. I felt like the the sauce needed something sweet to balance out the savory. The tenders themselves were cooked to perfection. They were huge and meaty! I liked how well seasoned they were. The Texas toast was buttery and able to withstand the toppings of the sandwich which was dope. The fries were nice and crispy. You can tell the cook everything in clean oil. The coleslaw was also fresh and had a nice crunch to it but I personally prefer sweeter coleslaw. I'm not saying everything should be sweet (sandwich/slaw) but you know how they add a hint of salt to something sweet to make a perfect balance, yea that kind of thing is what I mean. I liked how she separated the cold items from the warm items which is very considerate in comparison to other eateries. Chicken sandwich and side of coleslaw....was expecting the sandwich to be on Texas Toast which I feel makes them standout from other chicken sandwiches. Open the container and it was on a regular bun, messaged them on IG and voiced my disappointment about the above and I guess they thought I was trying to get some free stuff or whatever but I wasn't, i just wanted what they be posting allover IG a chicken sandwich on Texas toast!!! They said they were trying new things, nah stick with what you post on IG and if you ran out of Texas Toast just say that!! Very Over rated the chicken tenders was chewy and the skin wasn't crunchy it was sliding off the meat and felt mushy. The French fries were average. Let's get right to it... The food is good and I'll choose Jaybees over any fast food place. The food is fresh and made to order and they are very proud of their products, as they should be. I order the 5 tender combo with a strawberry lemonade and I was convinced to get the coleslaw vs double fries. I'm not a fan of coleslaw but theirs is pretty tasty and pairs well with the chicken tenders and fries. I'm something like a snob when it comes to lemonade but the strawberry lemonade is top notch! Soooooooo......I really wish that I could give a review about the taste, but I didn't even get that far. I was really excited to patronize this business so last week I decided to stop in. First off, even though employees are there, they will not take your order at the window. You have to scan the bar code and order online. BIG deterrent. Can you imagine your mother or grandmother trying to figure out how to do that and just getting frustrated and walking away? Yea, that was me. It took a minute for me to get the barcode to work, so me and my bf were standing outside for about 5 minutes and finally, it took us to the site. Cool. I was ready to order. My body is sensitive and allergic to a lot of foods so I only eat my sandwiches with cheese. Nothing else. However, they don't allow any modifications to any of their sandwiches-----------------------------------. This has got to be the biggest mistake that this business will ever make. If I could rate it 0 stars, I WOULD!!! It's simple. I sent my child to place an order not realizing no modifications could be made as I requested no nacho cheese. My child paid not realizing and I attempted to get a refund since I couldn't eat it. They said no refunds. I came here 08/04 and the guy was so nice..anyway we was passing through and I remembered they had dessert so I swerved in and saw that the Nana Pudding was $10 but let's try it..I end up getting both the Nana Pudding and the Peach Cobbler because they are usually sold out when I get to come on the weekends..LISTEN THAT NANA PUDDING did not disappoint on no levels..the best I have ever tasted. I have been seeing this place on IG, so we decided to drive way out of my way to support them on Sat...about 40 mins or so. Upon ordering a chicken sandwich, I was asked if I wanted cheese on it. I said no, but I also don't want any tomatoes, and I asked for a 2nd sandwich with no tomatoes or lettuce. The young man taking orders,, who appeared to be a teen, then tells us there are no modifications to the sandwich. So we said the reason for no tomatoes is because of an allergy. He again said that there are no modifications allowed. So we were like, So you're saying you can't just not include the tomatoes when making the sandwich? He then said 'I will have to refuse your order.' We were in disbelief. How do you refuse a customer because they want something eliminated from their sandwich? I mean, wouldn't that save them $ by not included those items? In addition, if someone says they have an allergy, you pretty much are saying you don't care. I ordered the loaded fries with chicken. Wait time was about 10-15 mins in line. Expected due to how busy they were. A young boy was at the window and took my order. I asked if i could get extra chicken and the young man said he wasnt sure if i could. So i got the order as is. The jaybees sauce was mind-blowing! I love it and it complimented the dish well. However i feel the choice of fries could have been different or fried to crispy. It was like they were over powering the dish by being a thick cut of fries. Overall the dish was very well prepared. I feel there where a lot of fries compared to the toppings. The dish was very hearty but good. I gave it a 3 star because i couldnt do 3.5. But the reason for my rating is that there should be something stating or those at the window able to know if someone ask for extra any thing if they could order it or not. I saw signs regarding the sandwiches being made with no changes. But nothing else listed. So having the ability as a customer to know if i want extra sauce or meat on my loaded fries would help. I also felt as i stated above the fry selection didnt feel right with this dish. Having the fries crispy to add a small crunch or having a thinner cut of fries i felt would work. Jaybee's is Delicious! Husband and wife family business and i love it! I order the chicken finger sandwich added cheese with a lemonade. The sandwich has lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and a special sauce. They cook fresh to order so be patient and it's worth the wait (10 min wait). Jaybees give me a Zaxby vibe but 100 times better. Been following Jaybee's and Chef Will on IG for some time and today was my day to try the food. The food always looks amazing and I'm a supporter of small owned businesses. The food was not great, but not bad either. It just left more to be desired in taste and for the price... Clearly the tenders are hand made from the way they are seasoned. However, I must agree with others when they say the tenders are T-I-Tiny!!! Also, my tenders were dry because they were somewhat over cooked. Maybe if they were tossed in the Mambo Sauce it would have been better. My tender combo came with fries, coleslaw, and Texas Toast. I'm glad I added cheese sauce to my fries because there was no seasoning on the fries at all. I don't think cheese sauce is homemade. The coleslaw was different because it's savory. Not bad, just different because I'm used to having slaw that is sweet. I didn't even bother with the toast so no opinion on it. I purchased the $10+ banana pudding and the $8+ peach cobbler. The banana pudding was lacking "pudding". It was dry...more like cookie, smushy banana, and sugar. Peach cobbler was ok. Both, in my opinion, were overly too sweet for me, but I definitely preferred the peach cobbler. Customer service was good.
