Jay charged me $40 deposit to get going on Tattoo artwork. I gave him $100 because thats how I roll, I like to get started out on the right foot. This person is after all going to put something permanent on my body....I want to keep him happy. I happened to mention that I liked one of the pieces of artwork on his wall, he took it upon himself to do some artwork for that. He didnt ask me & I didnt tell him to do it. I didnt want to get into any issue with a person that is going to put something permanent on my body, so I let it go. I asked him if he could do Artwork (that I didnt ask for)in color of original Artwork we had talked about. He proceeded to tell me his opinion about how it wouldnt work, that it looks better as just an outline, etc. I let him fully explain without interruptions. Then, when it was my turn to talk, I tried to tell him I still wanted it with the color. He interrupted me 3 times & just wouldnt let me talk!!!! I finally just had to hang up. In other words, his opinion is the only one that mattered. I get the fact that he is the Artist, & he knows what hes doing, ETC...but the least he can do is listen. After all, its going on my body & it is permanent right??? The fact that there were many cancelations...oops I forgots, can we reschedule etc, didnt bother me. Him not letting me talk about such an important thing did, so I cancelled work. He went ahead and kept the whole $100, even though he only charges $40 deposit, & I didnt even ask for 2nd artwork!!!! What kind of a chintzy business burns themselves over $60??? Wow!!! Anyways, to make a long story short, YES, I did get the 2nd artwork done in the color I wanted, the one he said wouldnt look good with color!!!! AND IT LOOKS AWESOME WITH COLOR!! My friend and I were getting simple tattoos and they welcomed us with open arms. We explained what We wanted and Campbell gave us pointers on what he felt would last the best from our color and size options. Over the course of the last 8 years I have had several artists from the Bay Area work on me however my #1 Tattoo Artist has been and always will be Nu Nu from Jay's Fine Line Tattoos. Nu Nu did my chest piece, a memorial dedicated to my mother, my feet, and recently added to my sleeve (beautiful Chola Eye free-hand). This place is amazing. I can in to get my nose out Jeeves and everything was so clean and organized. He answered all my questions and all my friends questions as well. He even helped loosen my nipple piercings for me. 10/10 would recommend for good service. It is a bit expensive compared to other places I have been but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! My friend got her lip pierced here and recommended I see Kevin, so I went here a couple days ago to get my Tragus pierced for $40. Even though I've gotten piercings before I was scared from what others have told me. One of my friends even said they screamed when getting it. Now you know why I was so scared. Kevin was SUPER nice though and made me feel at ease. He told me exactly how he was going to pierce it before he did anything to give me an idea of what I was in for. Don't waste your time... went to this shop twice in one day, 1st they were not open even though the hours say they should be. Came back later, door still locked, call the shop while standing out front, guy didn't seem happy about having to get off his ass and open the door. After he took he sweet ass time getting to the door and opening it, I ask about lip rings ( I am already pierced), and he says the piercer is not in, I inform him I am just looking to buy new jewelry, he says "my piercer is not in, I don't know about the jewelry or the prices". I asked " so you can't sell me anything?!" He says no... lame, guess he just is lazy and doesn't care if long time customers come back. I have gotten all my piercings here. My conch, my belly button and my tongue. I was very happy each time. Kevin is fast and very clean. I didn't have any problems with any of my piercings. He is also a very nice guy. I will probably go here for all my piercings if I ever get more. read more

My experience at jay's fine line was a very plesant one. I got my tragus pierced and the piercer made me feel really comfortable. He really helped me through the piercing and afterwards he gave me great advice on how to take care of my piercing. I would suggest to anyone to go there and get a tattoo and or piercing. I've been collecting ink since I was a senior in High School; 1986. Jay's has been my go to shoppe since 2001 when I first started going to the shoppe in Pacifica. I've gotten many quality pieces from Jay, Nunu and the crew that I am very happy with. Kevin, the piercer, is my needle man! He has done many a project on me. Ear projects, four surface piercings in my back, and replaced many other piercings for me. He has a very good imagination on how to make a piercing unique. I get lots of compliments on his piercing designs. If you don't check out Jay's then you are oing yourself a disservice. This place is amazing. I don't really remember how i heard of the place, bit I went here to get my 1st tattoo done. The artist that worked on mine was Nunu. I was getting some letters done and I did not have a design in mind. I told what I wanted and where. And in less that 5 minutes he came back out with the design. I had it done that day. On Sept. 08, 2008, I had my first appointment to get my right arm tattooed by Junior from Jay's Fine Line Tattoo. The first outline session went well. My next scheduled appointment was for September 15, 2008 and Junior failed to show. Next appointment date was for September 20 and 27, 2008, where he was going to color in my tattoo on my right arm. On October 3, 2008, I contacted the tattoo shop regarding my arm. I've had tattoos before and this time my arm felt as if something was wrong. I spoke to the owner, Jay, since Junior wasn't in the shop. He giggled when I notified him about my arm and let me know that he couldn't do anything for me. To wait for Junior. I asked if he could just take a look at my arm and he said no. Junior called me back on October 06, 2008 and said that my arm is just healing. On October 07, 2008, I decided to get a second opinion. The four other tattoo artist I've revealed my right arm to notified me that my arm is overworked and scarred. To stop sessions with the artist doing my tattoo. On October 10, 2008, I went to the shop with my brother to notify Junior of my knowledge and he told me to wait a month for my arm to heal. That I would either get a refund for the color he did or he would complete my right arm for free. On October 17, 2008, I went to see a dermatologist and she prescribed me a triple antibiotic to put on my arm to heal the scarring. On October 27, 2008, I went to Jay's Fine Line to show my right arm to Junior. Instead Jay came to see my arm as Junior watched. Jay stated that my arm was okay to continue tattooing. That I must have been scratching my arm or my arm skin tore. Junior let me know to contact him when I was ready to continue. I got another opinion and was told to continue to let my right arm heal, not to tattoo on it for a few months. I didn't feel comfortable resuming the tattoo at Jay's Fine Line. I notified Junior and he let me know he wasn't going to refund me, to speak to Jay. Jay wasn't in, so I waited a couple days and when I did speak to Jay he told me that I wouldn't get a refund and that no one at his shop would fix my arm! Jay's Fine Line's way to fix a problem is by ignoring the problem. Not only do I have to live with a scarred arm but other artist don't want to touch my arm due to another artists mistake. Jays freakin rocks!!! He did a huge tat for me of two hibscus flowers... It's awesome and the color is vibrant... The spot is very comfy with a seating area where they are usually watching MTV.. good for friends who accompany you! They don't just have to stand there and watch. The pricing is reasonable too!
