CKO Kickboxing in Omaha is hands down the best fitness club I have ever been to!! I've been a…read moremember of CKO for almost a year, and I attend classes 3-4 times a week (yesterday was my 117th class!). The instructors are absolutely incredible people and they're some of the most enthusiastic and encouraging individuals I've ever met! Each class not only feels like a fitness & cardio session but also a team effort where we all motivate eachother to stay on track, and hit (and kick!) the combos and routines that are set by our instructors. Being part of CKO has truly felt like one big family! :) In the 10 months that I've been a member (this is the first time I've ever joined a kickboxing gym too!) I've witnessed a huge and positive physiological change in my mind and body, as well as my mood and motivation too! I am so glad I joined CKO last year. (I love the variety of teaching styles across the different instructors and all of the hype they bring to each class!) Thank you again for being here CKO, I appreciate you! I'm looking forward to reaching 200 classes in the coming year!!

The instructors are all very positive and encouraging and that helped me early on when I was very out of shape and was scared of being judged in the gym. CKO is a welcoming environment, regardless on whether you are already shredded or just beginning your athletic journey. If you are worried of being judged, I will squash that fear. DONT BE! The instructors and other boxers are all incredibly friendly and encouraging. I have not met an unfriendly person here. The classes themselves are a hour long and include primarily kickboxing, as well as ab workouts and other exercises depending on the day. On Wednesdays and Fridays, half of the class is spent doing strength training with weights and the TRX. All of these extra exercises are to improve your kickboxing. Whatever the activity, they are clear with instructions and if you are unsure of what you should be doing, the instructors are always happy to help. If you need to take a break, you arent judged and can jump back in when you are ready. I really like that CKO encrouages me not only to maintain, but improve. Natalia, Lornell, and the other instructors all push you to your limits and encourage you not to give up and to keep it going. I dont know how many times I have felt like giving up, and Dustin's speech gets me back on track. Seriously man, your speeches are awesome! CKO makes it really easy for me to get in shape. I was never an athletic person, but CKO has given me a love for kickboxing and makes me look forward to going to the gym. I would recommend anyone give them a try! You wont be disappointed.

I chose to go with the spin bikes. The staffers are not trained to answer questions regarding Exercise Science and go by a memorized script. The class is only 13 minutes long and I just assumed from Saturday's tour they were 30 minutes. There are no adequate spaces to hang up jackets per space, cubby boxes are not large enough to fit thick jackets. There are only 2 restrooms and no locker room space to change clothes. The video workout did not provide adequate instruction for various fitness levels or proper encouragement in my opinion. There was no warm up period when the bike ride instruction started. The first thing the video instructor wanted you to do was to place a large resistance on the bike, get up off the bike seat and start pedaling hard. When I asked the staff member about this, she repeated what was told to her that a warm up is unnecessary since the room is 130 degrees which is supposed to instantly warm up your muscles. I let her know that's not what happens when describing human physiology. The superficial blood vessels dilate, bringing blood to your skin and not to the gross skeletal muscles such as the glutes and quads that require this valuable blood to help ride up these hills. I think I caught her off-guard and she realized I wasn't going to sign up for a membership. Dry heat exercise can be helpful if you take special precautions such as warming up before your session. Static stretching is not a warm up. I would suggest going to the free weight area and performing lunges or body squats 5 minutes before your activity. Also, hyper hydrate with only cold water and drink cold water during your 13 minute session, regardless of what the staff members or video instructors tell you when to drink. I wish the video instructors would be certified by The American College of Sports Medicine which would greatly provide instant credibility especially when dealing with many clients of all fitness levels and any medical predisposition. Lastly, the video should always provide the opportunity to stop or slow down if experiencing specific symptoms during your activity.

I had different trainers for each session and they were all good. The other members, in addition to the coaches, are super helpful in helping learn the combinations or correct form. Its like everyone is there for the same handful of reasons and, in those shared goals, is support as a group. Only 'cons' I can share would be: ~It is 'echo-y' which, with the music, can make the instructor hard to understand(common in most fitness class settings I've experienced.). Insulation on the ceiling could help this but otherwise just follow the instructor or other members. ~Sometimes the fast paced music is just too fast for some - to keep pace and form can be a struggle with some of the songs chosen - but you can always go at your own pace. The goal is to do YOUR best. ***** I've already recommended other friends to give it a try. It's a great way to get back into a work out routine, help train for an event, or develop an overall healthier lifestyle for the long run.

By far the best trainers are working at this location. They always have you giving your all…read more Strength Training, Cardio, Nutrition, Family.

My friends and I did Chaeli's sculpt class (or I believe that's what it's called) and loved it. We were sweating our butts off, which who doesn't love a good sweat?! It was a combination of yoga poses, little bursts of cardio and strength training. Due to covid, the yoga studio isn't renting out Yoga matts and weights. I would recommend bringing a matt and 5lb weights for this class if you'd like. Otherwise my friends and I did it without a matt and weights and did just fine! Ps - if you don't have a yoga matt and your worried about the floor being hard, don't fret, the floors squishy! We signed up for our first free class through the mindbody app and it was one of the easiest processes I have ever done. The ladies at the location weren't super pushy about signing up for a paid membership and were extremely kind and chill. I'll definitely be back for another class!
