Maryland crab cakes are my favorite meal. I never miss a chance to indulge when I travel through Maryland. I was excited to see great reviews for JB Seafood, located only a mile off US70. The shop is in a charming small historic building. We found parking behind the building. There was a steady stream of people going into the market. They sell fresh seafood to go and a selection of dine-in options. Many of the seafood prices are listed as Market Price. The crab sandwich was $23 with tax and there is an up-charge for use of credit card. The crabcake is thick with lump crabmeat. My sandwich was perfectly seasoned and prepared in authentic Maryland style. The bun with lettuce and tomato fresh were and tasty, too. The sandwich was perfection. The service was efficient. The clerk didn't waste time with pleasantries. The food takes awhile to prepare. I waited about 15 minutes after I ordered as they fresh bake the crab cakes. A tip jar sits by the cash register. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is cute inside decorated in a harbor/seafood theme. There are 5 tables inside and 2 counters that seat 4 people each. It's the kind of place that you'd meet a friend for lunch and a beer and hang out. There are a couple of Adirondack chairs out front. A tv monitor was playing basketball reruns.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crab cakes can be purchased unbaked to go (along with a host of other seafood). There is a small full bar and coke products. They also serve ice cream, which is what many of the families were stopping for on this hot summer day. I will make JB's a regular stop on my way through Maryland. Well worth a visit. read more

One of the friendliest places I have been to. Nothing fancy but THE FOOD!!! Omg. Had a soft-shell crab sandwich with the biggest soft-shell! It was delish. And they offered to sauté it instead of deep fry. Definitely gets points for that. This is my seafood time ordering from JB Seafood and it was still as good as I remember. Since they are so far from where I live, I only get to enjoy them when they vend at the Linganore Wine Festival. The crab dip in a bread bowl is a HIT every time. Over the weekend, I ordered that and a soft shell crab sandwich. For my first time having soft shell crab, I was utterly impressed. And it was considerably big from what I'm used to seeing. Wow! If you are ever hiking at Annapolis Rock, stop here after! My husband and I stopped here after our hike and it was amazing! The crab balls are like mini crab cakes. The crab rangoons are tasty and if you like crab, try the crab fries! We also had the oyster po boy and the crab sandwich. (I know we were hungry). Also I can't say enough about the customer service of the girls at the counter. We travel a lot and it was so great to see a team smiling and actually caring about their customers. After walking around the woods with my family, and celebrating the fact we weren't murdered in the mountain as I'm not sure if that's a valid fear or not... I decided to treat my kids errr... feed my kids as we had not had lunch yet. I got my kids a cheese pizza cause they don't know better. My wife had the po'boy shrimp and I had a Maryland burger. What is a Maryland burger? It's a bacon burger with a crab cake AND crab dip, served along side old bay French fries. Hardly any filler and lots of flavor. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I ordered the special, 3 fish tacos (they also had shrimp tacos) and was VERY happy with my choice. Being from CO, I am all about getting as much seafood as possible when it's available. This place is not to be missed! The crab cake sandwich was actually crab! Not filled with other things and not so much breading you had to search for the crab. Delicious!!! The apple salad was fresh and delicious as well. (My daughter and I shared the sandwich and the salad) and the dressing was perfectly light, the vinegar cutting the sweet and oh so tasty. This was such a cute place to stumble upon. It's a sit down quick service + "liquor store." We ordered a bit too much - sandwich, pizza, sweet potato fries and crab tip. That crab tip was sooooo delicious! It came with a good amount of pita chip. The pizza was fresh and amazing, had leftovers to bring home. Everything was so good! As for the drinks, if you ordered alcohol, need to drink outside. The weather was decent enough to hang outside with the drinks. I'd be back when in the area! read more

Arguably one of the best seafood restaurants you'll find in Maryland. Factor in their incredible price point, and it could very well be the best, especially to be located off the coast. My daughter and I used to be regulars while living in Northern, VA. We would make the 1.5 hour drive any day of the week, no question. Highly recommend the crab cake (minimal filler), the soft shell crab (incredible), the oysters (always fresh), and even their wings (old bay for the win). Their management team would always, genuinely treat us like family, though we were not locals. Incredibly hard-working and family oriented. My daughter would love to see the "crab man," Tyler. He would always put a smile on her face. Since then, we have moved to South Florida and always reminisce about the quality of seafood found here. I always stop by this cute spot when I'm going through Myersville. The decor is super cute and Beachy--with a few indoor tables. This place seems to be popular with people of all ages. When I was there, there were a lot of high school kids and locals ordering to go. I ordered a crab cake sandwich to go. It did take awhile to get my food, but I ordered it in the restaurant instead of calling ahead. How refreshing to find a small town restaurant that takes cleanliness, style, and customer service seriously. The food quality however was the most impressive part of my experience. Rarely do you find shrimp cocktail that is not over cooked to rubber or just thawed and fishy. The shrimp cocktail here was PERFECT. The crab cake sandwich was a little pricey ($20), but was very enjoyable as it was lump crab tender, flavorful and I didn't find any shell bits. I'll plan to make a planned diversion through this town each time I travel this way because of this place. I hope they stay in business a long time. read more

Excellent service! They were very helpful, attentive, and friendly. There are 6 two-seater tables and seats at a bar that faces the storefront windows. This seems to be the town takeout spot. I am also guessing they do a lot of catering. It is close to the highway and easy on and off access. They have alcohol and bottled sodas, teas, and water. We got the crab fries from the Yelp recommendation. It is a huge plate and yummy. This could be a meal on its own. The cheese and Old Bay covers the crab taste though. The fries are crispy. The hamburger was very good and also very large. The fish sandwich was very big as well. Unfortunately, the breading was way too thick. It tasted good but was doughy on the inside and the fish was difficult to taste. The tartar sauce was tasty. Parking is really only available in the back. The space is maximized and it is decorated with a lot of charm. read more
