Blaine is the best! I have course, thick wavy hair and I had trouble finding someone who knew how to deal with it. Whether it was shaping or layers or color Blaine is the best person for the job. Now I've been seeing him for 3+ years! With cuts he charges a reasonable rate and won't over-layer or abuse your hair. He can fix even at home-attempts (oops) and does a great job with bangs. With color the price is based on product but is still really seasonable. He always uses the most long lasting color and is willing to go in whatever direction you want, while still guiding you to what will be the most flattering. Blaine is probably one of the best out there. He knows his stuff, is open to ideas/experimenting and will honestly tell you if he thinks something will work with your facial/skull structure or not. He does take the time to listen to what I want and what I don't like. His studio is private so it's not all crazy loud, so I can relax for my favorite part; the hair washing! Blaine does a thorough job of going through a consultation and understanding my concerns with what product I like to use, issues with styling and what I want out of a haircut. He's patient, detail oriented and most of all he listens. I have straight Asian hair and Blaine's expertise is on display when he manages the many contours of my head and works around the complexities of my cowlicks. I do not have much to work with in the way of hair (sadly) and what I do have does not look that great. Blaine manages to make it look good (at least according to my wife). I'm probably not the easiest client. I vacillate from cut to cut -- I virtually never say, "Just do what you did last time." I've had stylists in the past who seemed to find this frustrating, and I can't say I blame them. Blaine, however, has never greeted my indecisiveness with anything but a smile and a "Let's try it!" His attitude with me has always been positive, and he clearly wants me to leave as a happy customer. A couple of times I came back for a quick tweak because I wasn't totally happy with how my hair lay after my first wash at home, and he didn't even charge. Happiest I've ever been with a stylist!
