What a terrific operation. Nicest people, delicious food, and a noble cause. Highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area. They also sell their seasoning blends so you can take home the goodness.

My mom has been wanting to come here for a very long time, we finally got a chance to. When we arrived, I loved that the restaurant was connected to a community space, and written on the wall are words of encouragement to chat with your neighbors. The entire dining set up was very professional. The servers were more casual, like grandmas and moms, gently checking in to make sure you have everything you need. And since there is a flat price for the food, you can feel a little less shy about asking for it. They took photos and were happy to chat with us, and regularly cleared our tables of dishes when we were done. The menus were posted in the doorway before entering and then we were handed them again at the table. Before taking our orders, we were told the specials of the day. My mom ended up getting one of the specials, a seafood quesadilla. While I went with the salmon. For appetizers, I got the salad, which was perfect, my mom got the soup which was on the saltier side but we still ate it all up. The salmon was well cooked though I think it could have still used a sauce. Overall, the portions were filling, though they didn't take long to eat. For dessert, we were asked if we wanted a fruit cup or chocolate cake. We went for the chocolate cake--it was so moist and spongey, I was really surprised!!! I would love to learn how to make a chocolate cake like that. At the end they also encouraged us to take some winter accessories that were on a table, and I got a very cute rainbow scarf to remember this birthday lunch with my mom. I would definitely come here again.

Am in visiting family and have wanted to go here for quite a while. Service was good and friendly. Food was quite good also. They have a changing menu and tonight I had gnocchi and sweet potatoes, 2 had chicken pot pie and the special was blackened shrimp. The soup was a curry carrot and apple, was a very good meal.

The food was excellent and we love the concept. All volunteer servers were friendly and responsive and food came out quickly. I love that there is a rotating menu and that this community restaurant feeds people in need. Definitely check it out!

Wow!! Our first time to the Soul Kitchen. The volunteer servers, and host were extremely welcoming, and efficient. We had the salmon entree , and a special paste dishes, both were outstanding. This restaurant has a fixed $20 fee for a 3 coarse lunch, no matter what entree you choose. The atmosphere is upbeat. Fresh flowers on each table, as well as cloth napkins. Dinning here is a must do experience.

AWFUL!!! Food + Service!!!…read more Went for breakfast because we were excited to order the crepes. There was only one other family in the restaurant at the time. I ordered blueberry, my mom ordered strawberry. 20 minutes later I get my blueberry crepes (as pictured) and the waiter hands my mom a plate of a crepe with blueberry and banana -- He said the chef is out of strawberries and wondered if "that was okay" -- NO, NOT OKAY! Why the hell would you 1) Not tell her what the chef told you and ask if she would like anything else, 2) Assume she would be okay with whatever the hell you brought out to her?? She proceeded just to get the blueberry "crepe" -- 10 minutes she had her crepe. By the way, there's a BIG difference between actual crepe batter and pancake batter -- just because you thin it out doesn't mean it becomes a crepe. We tried a little bit of it. It was not good -- At all. We both refused to finish the food because it was just .. Bad. The waiter comes back - I think his name was Metro? Started with a "M" - and asks is we want a box, I said, "No we're finished." Our plates were clearly still full. He never asked or checked up on us while we were eating, never asked if everything was okay with the food, and he swiftly took our plates away and brought the check per our request. Soo many service errors and for the prices, you guys need to step up your requirements especially if you expect to charge people for a premium. The quality you expect is NOT the quality you guys are giving out. ZERO stars if that was possible.

He was even kind enough to treat us to a Crispy Chicken Poblano salad on the house, which was so good. We also tried the Honey Adobo Chicken Market Plate and the Peruvian Chicken Market Plate, both of which he recommended. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented in ceramic bowls. You can really taste the difference with the daily freshly chopped veggies and house-made sauces. We also got to meet Apo's older sister, Alejandra, who manages the location. She was so sweet, personable, and welcoming, and she surprised us with a Pineapple Paradise smoothie to try as well. We also had the strawberry lemonade, which was perfectly refreshing and tasted so fresh, not too sweet and not too tart. Such a nice balance! And I have to mention the bamboo straws because that was a first for me. I loved that they are eco-friendly AND reusable. I washed mine and am bringing it home with me! The delicious part, however, is more of a gamble. The service was solid though. The Chipotle Power Ball was a clear winner: fresh, flavorful, and genuinely satisfying. It's the kind of dish that makes you feel good about what you're eating without sacrificing taste. The American Burger was the opposite experience. Based on the name, I expected a beef patty. While the menu didn't explicitly say "beef," the naming definitely implied it, so I was surprised when a chicken burger arrived instead. Unfortunately, it didn't just miss the mark on expectation, it was bland and uninspired on its own. The sweet fries were fine, but most of the other items I tried landed in that same middle ground: okay, but nothing special. If you're prioritizing health and quality ingredients over bold, crave-worthy flavor, this is a solid option. Just know that not every dish will deliver on taste, so it helps to stick with the safer bets or manage your expectations accordingly. Healthy? Absolutely. Consistently delicious? But looking at the fixins bar (Chipotle-esque), everything appeared fresh and clean so we chalked it up to a lull in business and freezing weather. I opted for a gyro bowl, my wife got a bowl with falafel. The lady at the counter really didn't speak English well at all, it took a few tries to get our order in. Once it was in she did tell us to sit and she'd bring it to us. As we sat we looked around, the place is cool. Decorated nice with a few tables. Lots of evil eyes all over. The food came out, nice and hot, good sized servings. We were pleasantly surprised as our expectations were low. For our taste they went a bit too aggressive with the feta and red onions. Otherwise all good. Looking forward to returning.

We came here about an hour prior to closing. We ordered the following: Trio of spreads, which came with Santorini hummus, spicy feta, tzatziki and 2 sliced pitas. Hubs thought that the 3 spreads were all similar and tasted the same. If anything, they should've made the texture all different. Overall, there was nothing outstanding about it. Beef and lamb platter, which was served with fries, pita, tzatziki, tomatoes, red onions and parsley. We thought this order was big and we couldn't believe that this was only for one person. The 3 of us couldn't finish it. Hubs thought that the salad was nice and clean and the fries were good while hot. We thought that the meat was a little dry. Thank goodness, there was plenty of tzatziki to dip the meat. Lemon potatoes- this was very salty and difficult to eat. Chicken and rice soup- we didn't like this. The soup was very salty. Hubs thought that the chicken was from the gyro or shawarma and that it was obviously added on to the soup base. He doesn't recommend this soup. Sriracha garlic parm wings- this was the best item of the night. The wings were nice and meaty, the exterior was nice and crunchy. The inside was nice and juicy and it was a nice order, overall. You have a choice of either 6 or 10 wings and we chose 6. Service was friendly and quick. They answer all our questions, but I doubt that we will be returning.
