I liked the atmosphere, I did not like the music but more important I ordered the vegan texmex and it was made very lazily it was like they didn't even try to make it appetizing. What a terrific find in the Brick/Tom's River area! I stumbled upon this eatery by accident a few years ago. The name is what got me in the door...I mean, 'Healthy and Delicious,' pretty straightforward, am I right? We are out on Seaside Park, so this place is a bit of a drive for us. However, whenever we are in the area and we are hungry, Healthy and Delicious satisfies our need for a health-conscious (but tasty!) meal. They offer a wide selection of meals from sandwiches to salads to wraps to entrees, and everything is made fresh. If you are on a specific diet, like gluten-free, or vegan, or low-carb, there is something on the menu for you. There is also enough 'flavor profiles' to their meals that everyone will be satisfied - like their Mexican-inspired chipotle wraps, to their buffalo burgers, or their Italian sandwiches...there is really something for everyone. My two favorite items here are the Chipotle Chicken entree and the Mediterranean burger. I'm not really sure how to describe the Chipotle Chicken entree...it's grilled chicken topped with turkey bacon, tortilla chips, avocado, black beans, red onions, cheese, ranch dressing, and cilantro over rice. It's like a naked burrito bowl, I supposed. I usually ask for rice on the side, just to make the dish a bit lighter - because let me tell you, it's a LOT of food! The Mediterranean burger is a chicken burger (all their burgers are chicken burgers) with spinach, caramelized onions, and homemade tzatziki. Definitely very different from my other favorite, but still delicious all the same. Almost every entree comes with a side, too, and you can choose from sweet potato fries, or spinach, or guac...the list goes on. If you're a salad person, they have some tasty and creative salads, as well. Healthy and Delicious COMES THROUGH every time I was a fast and healthy take-out meal. Their meals have been consistent and tasty every time I dine here. And, during COVID, their turnaround has been great...I call and the food is ready within a short amount of time. I hope the owner reads this because he/she has no idea how to run a business or a restaurant. The food is good and at a good price. However, the process is ridiculous. 1. Calling the restaurant to place an order, no one picked up. It went a voicemail which sounded like a cell phone where someone announced their name really quickly and then it went the recording part, however the mailbox was full. I called back and someone picked up but didn't say anything and put me on hold right away. Finally spoke to me and took my order for pickup. 2. Showed up and the staff had no idea what to do. There was no process. Four people working there, and 1 person cooking. So they were backed up, and three people where standing there doing nothing. 3. They were LITERALLY cooking one sandwich at a time. 4. There was a delivery order sitting there the entire time I was there. Just sitting there on the counter. No one was doing anything. Another customer waiting for food (surprise) said "that food will be cold by the time it gets to the customer. It has been there for over 15 minutes." The staff just ignored the comment. The food was still there after I left. 5. After my food was ready, prepared one at a time, they decide to THEN cook the sweet potato fries. So the food was getting cold while the fries were cooking. They couldn't figure out to do two things at once. The best part, the FRIES WERE FROZEN OUT OF A PLASTIC BAG!!! NOT EVEN FRESH!!! 6. All of my food was cold by the time I got it. I asked the staff how long they have been open, thinking it was brand new and they were still working the kinks out, and the staff told me 5 years! Wow! Five years later and still cannot come up with a process on how to run a restaurant. Pretty sad. I have been coming here since this place has opened. In the beginning it was great and then their quality control would diminish. I would get overcooked rice, missing chicken, and get completely brown avocados(mind you I carry out, so I only discover these mishaps once I am already home, and ready to chow down!) . So I would stop coming, then 6 months would go by and I would give them a second chance, then they would screw it up again. Same thing, stop coming, give them another chance for years now.
