I'll start by saying... expect to spend a little more money for this dining experience. However, in our opinion it was well work it. We had such a great experience at JB's on the Water. From the moment we arrived, everything just felt easy. Parking was simple, and the waterfront view set the tone right away. It's one of those places where you can actually relax and enjoy the atmosphere without any hassle. The service really stood out: fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly without feeling rushed. You can tell they have a solid system down, which makes a big difference when you're hungry and ready to enjoy your meal. The drinks were decent but nothing over-the-top, still enjoyable and well made. Where this place really shines is the food. Portions were generous, and everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying. You definitely won't leave hungry. The only small letdown was the lobster portion in the crab cakes appetizer. For $32, we expected a bit more, but it ended up being a small, slightly rubbery claw. Just the one detail that didn't quite match the rest of the experience. Overall, this spot delivers where it counted. They had great service, beautiful views, and delicious, filling food. We'd absolutely come back and recommend it for a laid-back meal by the water.

What a Great lunch place, our server Tati was super friendly and informative. My wife had the Coconut Shrimp on a Caesar salad and said they the best she had ever had. My Fish sandwich was a generous portion and cooked perfectly, even the roll was buttered and grilled nicely.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch yesterday. She had vegetarian spaghetti & meatballs, while I had a shaved brussels sprouts salad with baked cod as the added protein. We were both happy with our dishes, but JB's spectacular view sets this restaurant apart. If you want to enjoy a sweeping view of the bay while enjoying a good meal, this is your destination.

I tried JB's for the first time and loved the atmosphere. Growing up here, I hadn't been back for a meal where the old restaurant was in years. I like what they have done with the outdoor seating area with a fireplace right next to the water. It is a beautiful spot! I had the barbacoa bowl and an aperol spritz. The bowl was a good size. I love how they label their menu for allergens and have some gluten free options. Definitely make a reservation a few days in advance to get the best dinner times in the summer.

Best view in Jamestown. Reliably solid food options with classic New England service. Decent drink menus with rotating specialty cocktails. Tried the lobster roll BLT for brunch plenty of lobster!

Outstanding views. Beautiful day. Easter Sunday brunch. May have been THE WORST brunch I have EVER EVER had. Below average food. Excellent fruit salad. Excellent prime rib, but it disappeared 1/2 way through dinner. Ok tossed salad. Over cooked coconut chicken, which was inedible. Dried out egg bites, unappetizing looking French toast. It was pathetic. Never again. I attended a bridal shower here 5 months ago and it was very good. It's just a mistake to go out for Easter dinner. Lesson learned.

We had a fabulous outdoor table with a great view of Newport Harbor, it was a bit windy but it was warm enough. We decided to share the mussels appetizers as well as the fish and chips. Both were delicious but we really didn't expect them to come at the same time. So it was kind of rushed to eat both.

When in Rome, right? I had a serious craving for a lobster roll while visiting downtown Newport, but I was completely overwhelmed by how packed everything was with tourists. So, on my way back to Connecticut, my family and I decided to stop in Jamestown instead and I'm so glad we did! We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant right on the water. The lobster roll was excellent (they offer both hot and cold versions), and paired with some cozy fall drinks and that gorgeous ocean view, I couldn't have been happier we made this little detour.

We came here for the views, and it did not disappoint - this place is right on the water in a quiet little nook in Jamestown that is part of a hotel. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. Service was friendly and prompt, and the bloody mary was solid. We had the scallops, steak tips, and burrata salad, which were pretty good, but nothing really stood out as memorable. The potatoes were a bit gluey, and the steak wasn't seasoned very much, but I'd come back for the ambiance, apps, and drinks.

First time we came here, LOVED IT! Loved the ambience, staff, food, etc. Stacey was awesome and our food was delicious: charcuterie, coconut shrimp, fig burger, and orange/burrata salad ( although it could use some beets). Second time, ambience and staff still wonderful but the food was lacking something this time. We ordered the cod, fish N chips, and fish tacos. They also had the same flavor which should not be the case. Fish N Chips should have that Cajun, peppery flavor (which it did). My son didn't eat his fish tacos bc it had that peppery Cajun flavor as well. My cod, I ate, bc I thought it's supposed to have that Cajun flavor. But! Their drink, was very satisfying and I'd return for that. Lol. It was a watermelon margarita with tajin and it was deeeeLicious.

Wonderful fish tacos and we shared the Mediterranean trio. Sat on the porch on a Tuesday evening and watched the sail racing. Good prices for seafood ch a spectacular location. Highly recommend

Great spot for food and drinks in Jamestown. Beautiful location with an excellent view of the Newport Bridge. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Upscale beachy ambiance. We got the watermelon feta salad, fish and chips, and JB's lobster roll. Everything tasted delicious. Loved the combination of the feta, arugula, and prosciutto. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the lobster roll was delicious and affordable. Service was good though they kept coming to our table with the wrong order. Overall very good experience; I would def come back here. Bit pricey.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

Our waiter was kind, attentive, and very patient with us as we managed two hangry kids. One employee who was on break even helped me find a quiet spot to take a work call which I really appreciated. The kids' meal came out almost immediately. My son got the cheeseburger, and I was surprised by how big it was. It was adult sized, and he enjoyed and finished all of it. The mussels were the standout of the meal and the best I've personally had. They were incredibly fresh with no fishy smell and the broth was so flavorful. The bread that came with it was perfect for soaking up every last bit of the broth. The salmon was very fresh and cooked well. The shrimp scampi was also really good. The clam chowder was an 8 out of 10 for me. Not the best I've ever had but definitely one of the better ones. Pricing was mid range and felt fair for the quality of the food and the portions. Overall, we were really happy with the meal. Great service, fresh seafood, generous kids' portions, and a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back, especially for the mussels.

When making our reservation, we noticed there was an option to mark that we were celebrating an anniversary, and I have to say, they truly acknowledged it in such a thoughtful way. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were then escorted upstairs to our table, where we were treated to a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The restaurant itself is elegant without feeling stuffy, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, Cailin, greeted us promptly, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered us a complimentary champagne toast. While neither of us are big champagne drinkers, it was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made the evening feel even more special. It's little touches like that that turn a nice dinner into a memorable celebration. Moreover, it was just nice to hear the champagne flutes clink. (Plus the champagne was great!) To drink, we both ordered the dragon fruit margaritas. They were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful, with their vibrant pink color and striking black salt rim. To start, we shared the Caesar salad (without anchovies) and the stuffed artichoke. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and was packed with flavor. The stuffed artichoke was easily the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and served with a divine green goddess sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. My husband also ordered the clam chowder, which he absolutely loved. I don't eat seafood, but I tried a spoonful of the broth and even I thought it was excellent. For our entrées, my husband ordered the pork, and I chose the New York strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I paired my steak with both the horseradish crema and Bowen's steak sauce, while my husband enjoyed the chimichurri with his pork. Every sauce complemented the dishes beautifully. For sides, we ordered the seasonal vegetables, which were perfectly cooked green beans, the four-cheese potatoes au gratin with crumbled bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. The potatoes were rich and comforting, the green beans provided the perfect balance, and the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely incredible, not to mention a very generous portion. Before our entrées arrived, our table was presented with beautiful steak knives, another thoughtful detail that elevated the experience and made cutting into the steak effortless. By the end of dinner we were completely full, so instead of dessert we each ordered an espresso martini. They were perfectly balanced and the ideal way to end such an incredible meal. From the stunning harbor views and elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service and outstanding food, every part of our evening felt special. We left feeling celebrated, and we're so happy we chose 22 Bowen's for our first wedding anniversary. If you're looking for a restaurant in Newport to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an exceptional meal, this is one I wholeheartedly recommend.
