    The country road
    Kent S.

Rating: 4.3 Came to the place for lunch with family and friends. We reserved an outside tent for the lunch. It's a nice restaurant located right by the ocean in Narraganset. Complimentary valet parking available along with street parking. Once we got there we were directed to the outside tent seatings. Looks like they have a theme for each one and one we were at was winter themed. Inside was nice and cozy and was quite warm. Once we got seated we looked at the menu and placed order for some drinks and appetizers. We got some oysters and prime rib cheese egg rolls. They were both delicious. Oysters were fresh. I got a non alcoholic drink the country road which was fruity and refreshing. I ended up getting lobster mac and cheese. Lots of lobster meat and cheesy macaronis with bread crumb was tasty. Service was excellent and waiter was very attentive and came to check in multiple times. Overall it's a nice spot for nicer meal. Price is on the higher side but food was pretty good. Outside seating was $100 per group and for 3 hours so not too bad. Downside was that ventilation was poor so it was pretty hot inside and only way to cool down was to keep the door propped open but it was windy day so door kept banging and the next group was doing the same thing. Probably a good idea to put a window on the door or something. Some of the tables were also pretty wobbly which was a but annoying.

I was a little hesitant about trying this place out based on mixed reviews... I'm glad I don't listen to the bad ones because I would have missed out on an amazing experience. We booked an igloo because I get social anxiety and the ambiance in there is so what you make of it and because I was there with my family, it was fun! our waiter, Nicholas, was by far the best waiter we have ever had! What tops this whole experience is that the food was actually delicious! Drinks and desserts were also really good! It's only a 15-20 minute drive from our house so that's a plus! I highly recommend you book an igloo (cold months) or ocean/outside seating bc the sound of the waves is so relaxing while enjoying good food and drinks! I hope that you have the same amazing experience that my family and I had and I'm glad my friend Heidi recommended this place!

First time go to the Providence, Rohde island. I decided go to dinner at this restaurant and it wasn't disappointed me. Good cocktails, seafood was fresh, and the beach view is beautiful.

Came to enjoy a meal with a group in one the nice igloos and it was so beautiful on a sunny day with picturesque vibes and decor. We got the winter theme and it was all white with the views of the ocean next to us. For drinks I got the expresso solar(the name was something like that) and it was tasty and not too bitter! My meal was very filling and savory with lobster topping and lobster filling in the raviolis. The appetizers we ordered were lobster theme, and I think anything lobster here was taste. The egg rolls weren't rolls, but very tasty and hot. The oysters were ok compared to the delicious lobster options. The sobert was simple and tasty, but the highlight for me was the entree. One thing to consider is maybe grab an igloo in the afternoon or evening . The igloos were very warm with heaters but the sun beating down on us and the igloo having a plastic cover really got us warm. We had to prop open the door to get some cold relief. The doors should have a mechanism to prop it open when needed instead of relying on two random chairs we grabbed from other outdoor tables.

Location - Incredible. Food is top notch! Staff is on point with service. This place is a must and always a pleasure. Really sharp attractive interior and the igloos outside look fun.

The meal won't be cheap, but it will be super good! We went for a girls night and everyone loved their dinner. My best friend has a gluten allergy and she was blown away by their mac n cheese. They had a bunch of options for her to pick from which was a real nice plus. Wine was good. They had lots of cocktails and mocktails in addition to their wine list. The bread was amazing too! My friends love the dessert that they split. All and all everyone was satisfied. Our wait staff was amazing. Our head waitress was witty and super helpful. Her assistant was working her first night and we honestly had no clue until she told us. She was wonderful! I would come back again for a nice date night or celebratory event!

Food/Drinks: The food seemed pretty good. I had the salmon, but shortly after leaving I started getting really bad stomach cramps that lasted all night and even made me sick. My husband had the same dish and felt sick too, so it definitely seemed connected. We reached out to the restaurant and one manager was very helpful, but the other wasn't so much. They told us no one else had reported issues, and not much can be done. The drinks, on the other hand, were good. I only tried one, but I'd honestly come back just for the drinks and the views. Location: The location is beautiful, right on the water, and the themed bubbles are such a fun option for parties or special occasions. Definitely Instagram-worthy. This is the perfect spot to dress up, definitely not casual , and they also had valet parking which was a plus. Service: The service was also solid. Because we were in the bubble, we had two servers who checked in often, which was really nice and they were helpful, and got the job done. Overall, I'd come back for the drinks, and the views. I'd stay away from the salmon, but maybe try another dish since no one else in our group got sick except the two of us who ate the salmon.

Sunning views and amazing location! Lobster Mac and cheese was really good with good chunks of lobster but unfortunately the linguine and clams was very bland and nothing special. Would definitely give this place another try!

This restaurant is located in the heart of the Narragansett Beach district. For that reason, parking will be a challenge, though the restaurant has its own valet-only lot. This lot though can become full and then you'll have no choice other than find a street spot, or drive around until space in the lot becomes available. There's both indoor and outdoor seating that offer a view of the beach and Narraganset Bay. For the dinner we had here, we ate indoors due to it being a somewhat overcast and bleak early August evening. Consequently, many patrons chose indoor seating, so the restaurant was crowded and noisy. We ordered cocktails, appetizers, and mains, though we skipped desserts. Of particular enjoyment was the jumbo shrimp cocktail, served with the shells on, appetizer. Another special appetizer was the lobster tamale, which was loaded with lobster, making it an extra special bang for the buck. The lobster bisque was also top notch. The favorite main was the easy (out of the shell for an extra $2) whole lobster. The linguine with clams though was also a big hit. While all the food and drinks were excellent, the service was spotty. That was our only real disappointment. For tourists, this is a destination-type restaurant. In sunny weather, it must surely be extra special.

We had reservations through open table for a late lunch. Which honestly was a great choice. The evening gets very crowded with beach goers who are out for their evening meals. So I'm sure it can get loud and maybe crowded inside. Valet parking was a perfect service for the location. Those valet Parker's worked hard. They hustled even ran to get cars. If valet is available it's worth it! We were seated immediately on an area where we could see out the windows. Our waiter was fantastic. Ricardio V. Was amazing. He was attentive, held great conversation, and knew the menu and dosage pretty well. If he did not know something he made sure to find out. He also provided his options when asked for certain dishes or help to choose one or the other. Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail: jumbo is right. Fresh, and the cocktail sauce was divine. Lobster Ravioli: the pasta was a bit too thick for my liking. But, overall this is a great dish with fantastic flavors. The sauce was great. Lobster Tamale: FANTASTIC! It was piping hot when it arrived. This was my favorite dish of my meal. There were so many pieces of large lobster. The sauce complimented this dish very well. Overall a great place for good food, a great atmosphere and a view.

Good service good food. I expected better view and seating. We were out at a table near the bar where a gaggle of people were standing inches away from table top. Our view of ocean was blocked by an outdoor hut house that completely removed any view for us but gave the hut people the view. It was my birthday. They knew. No birthday anything other than hostess acknowledgement. A little disappointed but it's fine. In and out in an hour.

Need help getting intonthe holiday spirit? Eat a delicious dinner here! I went with some friends and it is decorated to the hilt! The octopus app was delicious and they offer NA wine which is a big win for this teetotaler. Attentive and friendly service, too!

What a view! Old building that was repurposed as a high-end, high-volume, destination that serves incredible seafood! What a view!! Full raw bar, chowders and bisques, steamer, fried seafoods, and a full bar. The view is incredible, did I mention that?! Valet parking and a wonderful staff. The prices are commensurate to seafood and coast. No negatives. Highest recommendation.

    Do u need a reservation?

Yes, you need a reservation. Especially for dinner. This restaurant is very popular.

What id the patio like for evening dining? Trying to decide where to do the reservation

If you mean the outdoor restaurant dining at Coast Guard House, it is excellent if the weather is excellent. Right on the sea, with great food. Wonderful

Is the reserved outdoor seating at the Coast Guard House shaded?

They have large sails and umbrellas but there are areas the sun shines through. Overall, an excellent experience

What are the differences between the Main Dining Room and the Anchor Room?

The Anchor Room has unobstructed views of the ocean through large windows. It's great for big party occasions up to 100 people.

Do they have their own parking lot?

They do, but it’s valet only. There is a lot of street parking directly outside of the restaurant in both directions. When we went, it was really easy to find a street spot

    Is there a kids menu?

Yes, there is kids menu. Nothing fancy, just the basic!

    Can you wear jeans?

Yes, the only dress code requirements are no tank tops or bathing suits.

I don't see fish and chips on their menu on the website but it's listed on previous menus, has anyone ordered this recently?

I went in the beginning of July and they offered it as a special of the day.

Do they have a kids menu? I didn't see one on their website.

Yes. A generous portion of chicken tenders, grilled cheese, a hot dog and kids pasta.

Is it a dog friendly place?

    No dogs.

Should you make reservations on a weeknight?

I always reserve a table even in the off-season, especially if you want to eat in the main/formal dining area. At the height of the summer season, it's pretty much de rigueur.

There are one or two restaurants that are passable for the area and would probably be a solid 3-3.5 out of 5. This place is a 5 out of 5. This place could be a 6 out of 5 compared to my local restaurants. And believe me, I took nearly two years of Spanish in high school, so I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I ordered fish tacos and my wife ordered the enchiladas verde (green) as takeout. When I got to the restaurant, I was greeted by three (tres) lads whereby one of them promptly handed me my order. When I pulled the food out of the bag back at the hotel, I was greeted with an absolute masterpiece of culinary art, the fish tacos. The red cabbage slaw covering the tacos, mixed with the sauce was beautiful (bonita) and vibrant. The enchiladas verde looked just as good, but were less vibrant in presentation. It seemed like the chefs cared about the product they were serving to their customers. The rice that came with the enchiladas had a great consistency and not dry at all - I can't stand dry rice. My wife said the enchiladas themselves were flavorful and seasoned very well and not the "suburban white lady" kind of seasoning. However, she doesn't write the reviews - I do - so I will talk about the fish tacos. There were three of them and I got them made with the corn tortillas (tortillas). Any fish taco I have ever had has always been small nuggets of fish smattered through the taco. These bad boys were absolute units where the entire bottom of the taco was one large fried piece of haddock, covered in a somewhat tangy sauce, and topped with red cabbage. The sauce and red cabbage made for a bit of a messy meal, so be prepared to get your hands dirty if you order this. I would not recommend getting these (or the enchiladas) if you had to drive down US Route 1 at the apparent local speed limit of 75 miles per hour and expected to just chow on some tacos while doing so. By the way,, what's with that, RI drivers? It's not the Autobahn. I had a RideOn bus 5 ft from my bumper while doing 70 on there yesterday. Calm down (or should I say 'clam down', amirite?). Anyway, this food was very good and next time I am in town, I would like to go there and sit down to eat while trying to ignore the fact that half the people around me here sound like Peter Griffin.

It was delicious but it definitely was missing a little something next time. I'll definitely try it with the street corn. The margaritas were in my opinion perfectly made. I can see why this place is such a big hit. Can't wait to go back.
