My first barber is like a brother to me, and I couldn't imagine anyone else cutting my hair. When I moved to California, finding that same level of detail and care was almost impossible for the longest, until I discovered Ali at MJ's Barbershop in Alhambra. I walked in, and she was the only one there cutting a client. Hesitant, I waited, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made all year. Ali is exceptional. With over 15 years of experience, she has a vision for detail like no other. It's more than a haircut; it's an experience. From the precision in my beard grooming, the sharpness in the line up, to the relaxing temple massages, every detail is perfect and necessary every time once you've had it. We got right in as a walk-in. Staff was friendly, prices were better than Floyd's (where we often…read morego) and the decor is really unique and lively. It felt like we were in a special place. Our son's haircut turned out good and just as he asked for. They accepted zelle which was convenient. My only criticism is that they were playing an adult themed show on the TV pretty loudly. So when a loud sex scene came on and my 13 year old was looking at me with huge eyes I had to say something to have staff change the channel. Maybe they don't get a lot of kids here? We'll def be back though. Also, there's a super rad community fridge just outside the place that was crazy stocked with fresh food from local restaurants. This was so cool and heat-warming to see.
