This store manager is NUTS. He does not allow any employees to communicate or talk to…read more customers. The employees will state, "I am paid to be here, not to work!" So a customer spends alot of time to wait for one person and the manager is that only person. He is rude, nasty and unknowledgeable. Floor and Decor must be on the way to closing all their stores. They work with a new contractor for 2026. Installations made easy. Avoid them too. . Avoid this nightmare company. They claim they have 50,000-60,000 employees not independent contractors. They have 1000's of supervisors but cannot connect to one. I believe this company is an absentee owner with his airhead daughter working the phones. They know nothing, they can not find anything, and why Floor and Decor does not vet them is unknown. They are a waste of time. Hours spent just having them look up a work order that the girl has no training and does not know what they do. The claim all their installers for plumbing, tile, flooring, counters, etc are their own employees and not independent contractors. I believe they are 100% fly by night, take advantage of the consumer. Avoid them. It also appears they have multiple addresses and phone numbers, the sign of a 100% scam company.

Over the years the thick stucco finished had been patched many times with different textures and different shades of white. Mature shrubs grew up against the walls which also had moss and mildew growing on it.Parts of the wall were splattered with mud. Vines had covered portions of the walls and when taken down left tiny tendrils everywhere. The trim was three different shades of grey and dark blue and needed to covered with white. Miguel and his painting crew were very professional and very detail oriented. They arrived on time, asked my for my feedback throughout the process. I usually apply rule #4 and rule #5 to my spaces, but I am getting it all under control. Did you know that The Container Store has a design team in Custom Spaces to plan out your room and now also installs? That's what I'm talking about. The designer came out to our house and gave us a plan for two pantry closets and three clothes closets. We also did this during the Elfa 30 percent sale. The parts were shipped to our house and in a few weeks the install crew set it up. I would suggest that the installation team bring the parts to the house instead, as some parts were not delivered, and someone had to drive out to another store to get the parts. Other than that, the closets look great, but my closet is already full! Time to employ the 80/20 rule!

While trying to manage my moms transition from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility, my own leave of absence from work, and missing my last child's last football game and all the other senior year activities - I was overwhelmed. I also needed to choose the right paint colors to make their home as attractive to buyers as possible, which in the best of situations is challenging, but I was in a serious pinch. Thankfully, God IS good - all the time! I walked in to JC Licht because they were the closest store to my moms SNF that sold BM paint. Ada (not sure about the spelling, sorry Ada!) approached me and I told her the three paint colors I thought I was looking for - but I really had not had time to consider how much natural light or lack there of, or how the colors would look with their hardwoods, or any of the other dozens of things that can make a paint color "all good" or terrible. She listened to every bit of information I could give her, and confidently told me the paint color and trim color I needed. And she was 100% right!!! She also helped me think through all of the other items I would need, helped me choose the right caulk, make sense of what tools I really needed (as well as what I didn't) and set up an account for me. I thought we'd be out by the middle of November, but as October moved into November, moved into December, I realized that she was right again! I needed one, it cost nothing and saved me a bundle! This young woman knows her stuff and she was SO much more than kind in her assistance to me. JC Licht Vernon Hills is fortunate to have such a competent - no skilled - no gifted! sales person working for them! Thank you Ada!!! Mark came looked the tile and gave us a reasonable quote, on just cutting out the old and putting in a close match. He measured and found a white replacement that is almost a perfect match. The tile guy wasn't happy with the grout choice so went and got 2 other choices. We picked and it looks amazing. We will be able to enjoy the close match and admire the work each time we look at it. This business has 50+ years of work and I hope they have 50 more. The store has a plethora of gorgeous products to decide on for a bigger project. Please support them
